Replying a year late, but it feels like they filmed it expecting to be able to speed up the footage, but they weren't able to do it. Maybe it looked strange or they ended up not having enough footage to fit in the soundtrack, but if you watch the fight at 1.25x speed, the parts that looked too slow look good. Hell, maybe they just forgot to speed it up.
Argon it’s just years of reading EU stories, playing the KOTOR games and seeing fan films like this I’m aware of what great morality and compelling philosophical stories could be told in the Star Wars Universe but instead we got... “The Last Jedi” what a massive disappointment that was. It’s got nothing to do with any perceived political agendas, it was just bad storytelling in a universe that had 40 years of lore built up. My blood boils when people say “oh you just think that because TLJ was something new and you don’t like it” NO it wasn’t! What was new other than totally changing the character of Luke Skywalker? By the films end we are back to Empire vs. Rebels 2.0 complete with X-Wings, Tie Fighters and AT-AT’s. With what too look forward to? Kylo vs. Rey and her unearned Jedi Powers part 2? Imagine if we at least got a duel with Luke vs. Kylo w/ Kylo espousing some similar ideas to what Revan is talking about here during the duel?!?
Kravis63 Yeah man I agree, but if you disagree with certain people they'll just accuse you of being sexist racist or something demeaning. For example battlefield V, I don't have anything against women but I don't expect them to be in a WW2 game, then the devs say that they aren't going for a completely realistic approach which is fair. BUT... then they were asked if we could shoot downed soldiers and they say no because that's against the Geneva Convention... I mean are we going with realism or not? Yet when I say hey women didn't serve on the frontline I get called a sexist, conservative and so on. I mean jeez
I like the Last Jedi but i agree with this comment, cause they basically undid everything they set up in the end. But i think they're trying to turn Kylo into a Revan of sorts.
No. There is no power a sith holds that a jedi cannot choose to wield. To do this you must pay 4.99 dollars and hope it will come from the loot box. The purpose is to provide a sense of pride and accomplitement
Gareth Wheeler I couldn’t agree more, hearing that, that is when I realized that Revan IS my favorite character in Star Wars. He flat out told them, when your enemies won’t play fair, than neither should you.
Seth Heger although I think he is merely pointing out that neither side is all powerful because they don't study the force in its entirety, they've all twisted the force in their own way, the Jedi can be even worse than the Sith at times and they act all high and mighty. The Sith admit what they are but still try to bend the force to their will which imo hinders their power if anything. Revan is a true master of the force
@@ArgonRUclips Not all Sith think or try to bend the dark side or Force to their will hell Darth Bane admitted that the Sith are servants to the dark side
2:04 Revan was different from other Sith conquerors because he deliberately avoided causing civilian casualities. Even after becoming the Dark Lord of the Sith, Revan regretted devastating the planet of Malachor V. While conquering the Republic, Revan relied on assassins and droids to kill the top brass, while he converted almost 90% of the Jedi Order to his side. In fact, Malak called Revan weak for using such tactics instead of all out bombardment to conquer planets, which led to the jaw-dropping lightsaber duel.
This depiction of Revan is if I dare say THE BEST depiction. A true neutral that has experience in both sides and full wisdom of fallacies that both the Jedi and the Sith ignore or even relish in with their foolishness. They do believe in the purity of one side and see the other as a menace. But this Revan is was wiser knowing too well what dangers both sides have besides the obvious combat.
I've watched this at least 20 times. Revan is just spot on. Every word well thought out & eloquently spoken. I was a die hard Bane fan untill my brother asked "Have you not heard of Revan?" Now its like "Bane who?"
I want a Revan movie with this voice actor, not necessarilly following his backstory from Legends, but rather about his philosophy: sith techniques like using your passion and anger CAN be used for good. The Jedi order is always portrayed to be so perfectly flawless, but like with any organization/ideology, extremism is a dangerous path, and Revan combines all the strengths of Sith and Jedi. DIVISION IS FOOLISH! Also, the voice actor is so perfect, while he is passionate, he is also restrained, knowing that diving to deep into your emotions may lead to the mind being consumed by the dark side.
Fuck revan was solid for the whole thing with a good voice but that ending line was spot on, revan throughout the entire fight wasn’t trying to defeat the Her but to rather teach her an important lesson
Isn't it true beauty how he does all the lightsaber stuff with the jedi to be convenient to their assumptions of him, but he essentially finishes the fight with a clean punch to the jedi's solarplexus, before teaching her a lesson in mastery of the force? Awesome to take this fight out of the fan film and put it together as a complete scene. I love Revan and the way he's depicted. masterful voice acting!
If they do make a Revan movie, *this* is what it needs to be. Not a Jedi, not a Sith. Something else. In fact, a similar scene to this would be an excellent introduction to the movie.

Flowing through all, there is balance There is no peace without a passion to create There is no passion with out Peace to guide Knowledge stagnates without the strength to act Power blinds without the serenity to see There is freedom in life There is Purpose in death The Force is all things and I am the force

Wow it's like when people care for there product it turns out good. Years laters and we are still talking about how good these scenes are. No huge budget, no a-list actors. Just amazing dialogue. Like they knew the characters and how to act them. These fan projects are s-tier
Revan defines the true nature of the force! Balance in all actions and beliefs. No matter what it costs. Revan is what the Jedi always wanted to be. The voice acting and dialogues are terrific. Disney will never understand, that Star Wars Fan Service has nothing to do with Lightsaber duels or space battles. Star Wars is viewed philosophically, a quest for your own balance and nobody embodies this more than Revan. Disney still has no plans for 5 films and 3 flops, i.e. 60% flops. If they would just focus on the EU / Legends, it would be a sure-fire success. Or why not film KotoR 1? The game has more Star Wars than TFA, TLJ and TRoS combined. Revan played by Keanu Reeves, sounds more than tempting to me. The role would suit him.
I AM NOT SITH! And that's pretty much when I got chills...... Combat sequences and lightsaber technique......meh. But like others say in the comments; the dialog and voice were spot-on for Revan. Absolutely what a lot of us have wanted to see in the Star Wars genre for a long time. Disney could learn a thing or two from this; at least from a story line element.......
@@michaelthompson-cb3zs How can Disney learn from this when they're too busy with being the forerunner for SJW movements and with that misandrist Kathleen Kennedy at the helm?
If anything the lightsaber duel was a bit more well done than the other combat sequences. Largely because of what was being said between Revan and the Jedi.
3:01 "I am not Sith!" Me: "Where was the writer of this film when Star Wars was being made???" Love the guy. My personal favorite type of hero in any film, really, is the one who acts for justice and all but uses dark techniques to help achieve it. Cuz the Sith always get the cool stuff in fights, so is there really any reason why you shouldn't just take a leaf out of their book to hit them?
I love how much research they put into this. From his lightsaber form, his wit, his power, to which lightsaber he prefers to use, it's all very well done. If only SWTOR had done him this much justice.
I cannot wait for a film editorial to come out, featuring this fan film, with the headline: "Fan film does in 2 minutes with a few thousand dollars what Disney could not do in 10 years, with billions of dollars" 🤣
He has no reason to take her out, and EVERY reason to save her life. She is everything he used to be, and he doesn't want her to go through what he did. He wants to save her the dark journey and price he paid to learn the lesson that he's now handing to her on a silver platter... if she would but just take it, as if the dying light depended on it.
Imagine if Luke and Revan met each other, their chemistry would essentially be somewhat akin to Superman and Batman. Luke sees the good in certain people and is willing to try and give them a chance of redemption, whereas Revan would try and combat Luke's philosophy. Like they both believe in using balance between light and dark, but use them in different ways to achieve similar goals.
This is probably my favourite depiction of the legendary Star Wars character Revan.....neither Jedi or sith, but one who resides in the middle, the grey jedi, using both sides of the force, the light and the dark......#teamrevan4ever.
How Revan plays with them! Like a cat with mice. If he wanted to kill them, he would have done it in a few seconds. But he wanted to teach this Jedi girl. And he was able to get through to her. She considered Revan's words.
It goes deeper than that. Because it takes two to tango. It's not just the Jedi who are at fault, but the Sith as well. Two sides to the same COIN to maintain a BLOODY and VIOLENT dominance over the Galaxy... sucking everyone else to fight for them, so they don't have to do it themselves. #ThePlotThickens

It's a creative language, by its nature. Adapting and evolving on it's own, unless stifled by those who wish to try and control what everyone else is trying to say. I can imagine many languages might suffer from a similar misconception of what verbal communication is supposed to be. if it was able or meant to allow perfect communication, there would be no reason for verbal languages at all. Always disliked how the Jedi order is portrayed too perfect and flawless in the movies. If the Sith Empire is loosely based on the real-world Nazi Regime, one could say that the Jedi were France, England or the USA during before and at the very beginning of WW2 - just stood and watched Hitler slowly taking over Europe, and acting waaaaay later, pretending to enter the War to save smaller countries in Europe while in actuallity, they got scared for their own asses and then after years/months finally stepped in, albeit too late for maaaany lost souls who fell victim to Nazi Germany. If we had someone like Revan back in the late 1930s, who would not hesitate to act against injustice maybe Hitler would be stopped in his tracks, and the biggest War in human history could've been avoided.
@@Rol-E-Roll-da_real_1 I don't think the Jedi got portrayed as perfect, quite the opposite. Perfect duel, where to dig for movies. Although I don't understand where the jedi was inspired, if her sword was supposed to be pure orange and orange-red, or red, because otherwise she looked like a dark jedi that flashes quickly at the beginning of KOTOR.
It's just as easy for a Sith to hide behind the colour blue, as it is for the Jedi to hide behind the Colour red. Appearances can be deceiving. Their actions speak way louder. Like when Revan asks her to define peace... she draws her blade in silence. Needless to say, Revan was NOT impressed by the answer. He would be more impressed by her putting her weapon down, and giving him the Hug he hasn't had in over 300 years.

I mean it's not any worse than obiwan vs vader on the death star
I honestly think that revan was toying with them. He didn't want to kill her, he wanted to understand that there isn't a light and dark.
Fan film does in 6 minutes what the Last Jedi couldn’t in 2 and a half hours
Kravis63 You may get some hate but preach it more my man. 👍👍
My blood boils when people say “oh you just think that because TLJ was something new and you don’t like it”
NO it wasn’t!
I mean jeez
The Equalist haha pretty bad right?
I like the Last Jedi but i agree with this comment, cause they basically undid everything they set up in the end. But i think they're trying to turn Kylo into a Revan of sorts.
2:17 "define good" she responds with nothing
reyes robledo
She cant respon to that cause she don’t know
Roasted
Even better she responds with violence
She responds with action... which is igniting her lightsaber with the intent to KILL.
So I guess that's what she defines as good... for now. 🤣
My boy was teaching a lesson

Jedi: Not one step further
Revan: *take one more step*
There Is No Power A Sith Holds, That A Jedi Cannot Choose Wield, You Must Be Strong Enough To Master The Force In It's Entirety!!!
No. There is no power a sith holds that a jedi cannot choose to wield. To do this you must pay 4.99 dollars and hope it will come from the loot box. The purpose is to provide a sense of pride and accomplitement
Gareth Wheeler There Is No Reason For Every Word In Your Sentence To Start With A Fucking Capital Letter. No more please ⚰️⚰️
Revan was power. It was like staring at the heart of the Force. Even then you could see all the Jedi he would slay etched on his soul.
Kreia
@@memine8795 My 2nd favorite Star Wars character, after Revan.
@@Sweetness71775 Absolutely. She’s incredible and one of the best female characters ever imo.
@@Chris_MarMar Oh yeah. Her philosophy was amazing and she wasn't a Mary Sue by any stretch.
"Define 'good'."
It takes talent to deliver a solid burn inside two words, but wow.
Revan is the best FACT! I love his voice in this
I've watched this at least 20 times. Revan is just spot on. Every word well thought out & eloquently spoken. I was a die hard Bane fan untill my brother asked "Have you not heard of Revan?" Now its like "Bane who?"
REVAN IS THE BEST CHARACTER IN ALL STAR WARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Roko Butorac
Yes
0:20 the look on her face when she realizes she just walked into a bossfight while running away from lesser spawns
Fuck revan was solid for the whole thing with a good voice but that ending line was spot on, revan throughout the entire fight wasn’t trying to defeat the Her but to rather teach her an important lesson
Jeremy Geller
Exactly
He taught a lesson. He had the realization of the balance long before his time not being Jedi nor Sith. even though he is a little darker.
This is my favorite fan film. Love Revan
R369B, if you like this one then you should watch the one with Darth Maul.
If they do make a Revan movie, *this* is what it needs to be. Not a Jedi, not a Sith. Something else. In fact, a similar scene to this would be an excellent introduction to the movie.
WrittenInShadow
I don't want a Revan movie but if they're going to do it they better use this Revan
There is emotion yet
Peace
There is serenity yet
Passion
There is chaos yet
Harmony
There is no life
Without death
I serve the balance
And through it
The force shall
Guide me
Flowing through all, there is balance
There is no peace without a passion to create
There is no passion with out Peace to guide
Knowledge stagnates without the strength to act
Power blinds without the serenity to see
There is freedom in life
There is Purpose in death
The Force is all things and I am the force
Peace is a lie, there is only passion. Through passion, I gain strength. Through strength, I gain power. Through power, I gain victory. Through victory, my chains are broken. The force shall set me free
The Revan code:
There is no light, without the dark
Through passion, I gain focus
Through knowledge, I gain power
Through serenity, I gain strength
Through victory, I gain harmony
There is only the force, and I am the force
This is how you dissect the dichotomy of the force.
This is the Revan we never got in SWTOR
Slav Vader
Exactly in Swtor he just brags about doing what he did was for the greater good here he's just doing it cause he has to but doesn't have to tell us he's doing it for the greater good he's grey dark and knowledgable and very powerful but not too op like he was in shadow of Revan
The role would suit him.
tomazzo
I agree everything you said until the KOTOR film thing I think they should just bring back the two RPGs that has everything in the RPGs
I agree, and my father and I agree with you on Keanu playing Revan.
Absolutely! I'm glad you think so :)
i agree let's hope Disney does learn from this
@@michaelthompson-cb3zs How can Disney learn from this when they're too busy with being the forerunner for SJW movements and with that misandrist Kathleen Kennedy at the helm?
If anything the lightsaber duel was a bit more well done than the other combat sequences. Largely because of what was being said between Revan and the Jedi.
Calm, collected, pragmatic, and, above all else, balanced, as Revan should be.
Thats a Good Voice For Revan
Eric Monaco no it's a perfect voice
3:01 "I am not Sith!"
Me: "Where was the writer of this film when Star Wars was being made???"
Love the guy. My personal favorite type of hero in any film, really, is the one who acts for justice and all but uses dark techniques to help achieve it. Cuz the Sith always get the cool stuff in fights, so is there really any reason why you shouldn't just take a leaf out of their book to hit them?
Looking back on the fan film Revan's and the Jedi dialogue fits so well with the prequel era Jedi
Lmao just grabs the handle and hits her with it. Badass. Beautiful choreography
I have to admit watching Revan hit a Jedi knight in the face with the hilt of her own lightsaber was fricken priceless XD
The refined movements and poses. and a voice that speaks with knowledge and understanding. This is, Revan.
Revan is one of my favorite from the Star Wars universe and I have learned so much from him.
I love how much research they put into this. From his lightsaber form, his wit, his power, to which lightsaber he prefers to use, it's all very well done. If only SWTOR had done him this much justice.
it was perfect. Perfect. Everything, down to the last minute details.
I cannot wait for a film editorial to come out, featuring this fan film, with the headline:
"Fan film does in 2 minutes with a few thousand dollars what Disney could not do in 10 years, with billions of dollars" 🤣
I have a feeling he held back to convert the young jedi
He has no reason to take her out, and EVERY reason to save her life. She is everything he used to be, and he doesn't want her to go through what he did. He wants to save her the dark journey and price he paid to learn the lesson that he's now handing to her on a silver platter... if she would but just take it, as if the dying light depended on it.
This is revan !
The way they adapted him for this fan film is great ! They kept the essence of this so particular character.
Revan is the best
Joseph Cox I am
Darth Revan is the true master. His quotes are phenominal.
I never thought of that! 🤔 but I agree. Cool idea 👍
This is probably my favourite depiction of the legendary Star Wars character Revan.....neither Jedi or sith, but one who resides in the middle, the grey jedi, using both sides of the force, the light and the dark......#teamrevan4ever.
3:21 much to learn she still has
Neither of them ever had a chance. If Revan was trying to kill them, this would only be a 20 second fan film
How Revan plays with them! Like a cat with mice. If he wanted to kill them, he would have done it in a few seconds. But he wanted to teach this Jedi girl. And he was able to get through to her. She considered Revan's words.
2:40 "Its over sentinel, I have the high ground!"
When you don't want to kill someone but to kill her whole ideology, beliefs and ideas leaving an empty container to be filled.
0:34 He basically states the history of the Jedi, and their genocide against grievous

@@DjeminiStudios I like when he says "define GOOD" and yes that's interesting
This is hands down better than the Sequel Trilogy in its entirety.
This was simply awesome! Revan actor totally nailed it!!!
Its over revan has the moral highground
Revan is truly a master of the jedi and the sith he knows the mysteries of the force
Consular jedi: Revan. Not a step further
Revan: I am not here for you
CJedi: Come peacefully, revan, and i'm sure the council will take your past actions into consideration. You may be given a chance to reform
Revan: I bear knowledge of the council's justice. And i'm a standing testament to their reform. I am doing what is necessary to end this conflict for good. Let me pass.
Cjedi: No. You will face the council, or you'll die here.
Embracing the dark side is not the answer.
R: So good of you to think so. Do not presume to tell me my path when you walk yours blindly. The force existed long before the Jedi and the Sith divided it into light and dark. It will be here long after all these empire are gone. You cannot hold me to the jedi's rules.
Cjedi: Is that how you justify hundreds of death ? Using sith ways to cut innocent down ?
R: And what of the Jedi ?
Cjedi : We use it for good.
R: Define "good". This is why the Jedi will never achieve peace. You're a fool to listen to your masters if they tell you there's only one way. You must be prepared for the next sith you'll face. It may be your last. I am not sith !
There's no power a sith holds that a jedi cannot choose to wield. You must be strong enough to master the force in its entirety.
Cjedi: No !
Revan: I do what is necessary. Show me your mastery of the force, Jedi. Show me !
Cjedi: *scream*
Revan: The force does not control you, young one. You saved your guardian using something you thought was a banned. But your motives are still aligned with the jedi code. Consider my words.
I just found the subtitles to be missing some lines, so i wrote them. There's much more to learn in these few lines than in the whole sequel trilogy...
You missed one part. If you listen carefully, he doesn't say "I don't know of the council's justice..." he said "I BARE KNOWLEDGE of the council's justice. And I am a standing testament to their reform"
a VERY important distinction and difference to make
@@DjeminiStudios Oh sorry, I'll admit my english is far from perfect...
@@nemesis7774 It doesn't have to be. I'm happy to engage with anyone who is civil with me. All we can ever do is our best, and learn to improve, if we so wish :)
I've never expected people to communicate perfectly, because communication is, by it's very nature, an evolutionary process.
The English they taught me growing up is surely not the same English they are teaching today, which I can imagine might make learning the language far more difficult.
Perfect communication is not verbal.
I admire the developing theory that language is meant to be explored. the languages we use, regardless of language, is not what we are communicating. Words are only a way to represent what we are "trying" to communicate
@@DjeminiStudios I guess I did not expect such an answer. Like you said, languages are said to be living, and in constant evolution.
Let's say that my education in English was a bit of a mixt, between some very good and very bad teachers, and the influence of interacting with people on the internet and learning to communicate through this mean.
I'll agree with actions speaking louder than words, given the fact that non-verbal communications which is action and not words is considered to matter more than the words themselves sometimes..
@@nemesis7774 Actions are the universal language that even the animals can learn to express and communicate to us with. Second in line is Music. I like music the most, because it's a language that unites people, rather than divides them into ever more complex systems of definition that are incredibly difficult to keep up with, and inherently stressful to arrive upon any agreements with. :)
To me, the whole point of communication is to form agreements between conscious or even semi conscious beings.
if you pause at 1:04 u see the jedi master Cringe A'f and bodyguard not realizing they're in picture. other than that, this revan actor needs to get an oscar, cause this shit was dope.

The Drifting Cosplayer V2 define Revan
They were mostly shown as incompetent, ignorant, brainwashed people, who were afraid of change, or admit that base passions can be helpful, makes you think really. The force does not control you, young one.
You saved your guardian using something you thought was abhorrent. But your actions are still in line with the jedi code.
