A much more relaxed "manual of arms instruction" than we got in basic training, much better than the SADF 'Korporaal' shouting and making us do push ups. I got so used to carrying my 'Vrou" everywhere, sleeping, using the bush latrine and even at mess call. Brings back fond memories.
I'm glad it brings back memories for you! I hope there are some good ones among them. I try my best to keep it as short and informative as possible. Many new FAL owners struggle with running their rifles correctly. So here we are...
I have two original steel mags that came with my Stg58 manufactured in 1964, God knows when were mags made but they work flawlessly. Good feeding system is a foundation for great auto rifle.
@thefalguy9848 I had 2 back in the early 2000s, both Embel (if I spelled that correctly)manufactured, and it's still my favorite battle rifle. Should have never sold them.
Excellent video. I just got my first fal a few weeks ago. I'm hoping the new ds arms metal mags come out soon and work well. I currently only have one mag.
Same here. I've used FALs before but just got my first FAL a couple weeks ago. It's making me poor in ammo costs, but I'm having a lot of fun with it. Bring on the steel mags, DSA!
Good stuff. To note about the rear sight, it depends what model you have on there, the Bush Warrior SA58 FAL comes with the older more fixed Belgian sight that has screw sets for windage.
Most important thing for a new FAL owner, if youve got that fancy pic rail on top, dont dry fire the gun with the bolt carrier out. Its a pain in the ass to get the hammer back down.
Good to know! It seems insanely sturdy and I have one of the first Singlepoint optics as well from 1978. And it still works and holds zero which surprises me

I carried the FAL about 38 years ago for 6 years. I still own fal’s. It’s a great gun. Its a good video, vriend
Baie dankie

Yes I agree 100%. And I can tell you the new DSA mags are feeding like a charm too. Updates coming soon on them!
The FN is a beautiful rifle. America should have adopted it when it had the chance.
It's a proper man's rifle.
Agreed. Beats the M14 in every category

@@thefalguy9848 By the time the FAL rolled around, the US was already setting its sights on intermediate cartridges if I remember correctly
I like the Rhodie paint job!
Thanks
Great video. Been a big fan of the FAL for a longtime in particular the SA58 and Israeli Heavy.
Awesome, good to hear. Glad you like the FAL!
Always enjoy seein a new vid from this channel. Beautiful rifle my friend
Thanks, always happy to bring out new FN content
Here I am, not even thinking I could use an FAL with my short frame, just listening to that ASMR sounding rifle.
Those big "thump" are amazing.
There are shorter FALs for people of shorter stature 🫡
Excellent video. I just got my first fal a few weeks ago.
I'm hoping the new ds arms metal mags come out soon and work well. I currently only have one mag.
They will be out soon! More details to come at KalashBash. I'll be covering the DSA part there

@@fourthhorseman4531 give it a few weeks. I'll have an update by KalashBash 🫡
@@thefalguy9848 have you tried any of the new dsa mags yet?
@@anthonyz.4560 they are not out yet. I'll have an update by this weekend on them!

True that. There are different ones out there. The Para from DSA has its on style as well.
@@thefalguy9848 Right! Cheers bru
Nice. If I wasn't already invested in my modernized G3 clone, I'd have a FAL. Much respect and high regards.
Nothing wrong with getting a modernized FAL now 😎
On my bucket list for sure. But will be the clone from dsa. Para version and 18 inch barrel. 💪🔥👍
Hell yeah! That will be a sick build!
Beautiful rifle. Something about Cold War battle rifles is just captivating
Agree 100%. The retro vibe always hits hard
Could you do a video on proper maintanence?
Yep, is in the pipeline
I remember seeing FN FAL having Long barrel, broken red dot, M203 and the long ass magazine with capacity of 50rounds on Crossfire FAL Custom of Hero.
Outstanding!
Glad you like it!
Another great video, Bernie. Keep it up Bru
Thanks, will do!
Very interesting video brother!
Thanks
Alles gute mein Kamerad 😎. Danke für die Information, die Kameradschaft, und die Vibes nach Suden letztes Jahr. Zum Glück in 2024 🫡.
Thanks for the support!
Is there a way to attach a muzzle break to an imbel FAL rifle the barrel end is smooth and no grooves or threads to add a muzzle break
You would have to get the barrel rethreaded to take muzzle brakes
I have a quick question about the front hand guards I have a fal carbine and would like to know if the Israeli hand guards would fit
Yes
@@thefalguy9848 thank you for your help love the channel
Very timely thank you
Glad it was helpful!
My fal will not eject shell casings. Slide goes back, but not all the way back. Wat setting should gas be set at?
Close it all the way and see if the issue still persist. If it helps watch my video on the gas regulator...
I so want one with the proper 7.62cal !!!
How many inches is one complete turn on the rear sight??
What optic is that?! I saw one in a SOF magazine in the 80's.
Armson OEG. Around since the 80ies. Originated from South Africa, now made in the US.
I met this guy at Kalashbash he knows his shit
Hah thanks!
Baie Mooi FAL GUY
Dankie!
A properly adjusted FAL/SLR is a joy to shoot. It's a shame the L2A2 optic is such a piece of junk. I love the look, but wow, it won't hold zero. 🤠
I have a FN Fal,can the rear sight fold down
No
What sidearm are you carrying?
Staccato P or SIG M18.
So what language was it
Sounds like - Hebrew+ Danish

It's Afrikaans. A South African form of Dutch mixed with some Malay, French, German and African words.
Love the Afrikaans! Great video

Also definitely dont forget to set the gas setting back when you where having drunk fun with the boys firing dummy rifle grenades
Agree. Otherwise a good screwdriver can help in pushing down the hammer.
And you have the toughest Red Dot money can buy... In 40 years I've never broken one...

Thank you for your service
Anyone have any comment on the plastic mags for these things?? That's all that's out there seems.
I got 4 of them. They run fine now. I had to "break them in" though
@@thefalguy9848 what brand do you prefer, internet comments have not been friendly to these things. Thanks for get back.
@@dougpope3045 I made a video on polymer mags. My preference is DSA and Mosss. Rest is trash.
I wish it had a shorter stock. I love it otherwise

Yes. Almost all my intros are in Afrikaans.
Видно что ружье сильно кастомизировано...в отличии от базовой версии.🤔
