The difference in performance doesn't justify the difference in price for me. If I were choosing between the 2, I'd get the Kobalt. A half to a whole second slower doesn't bother me. I won't be racing anyone.
I wanted flex but i found the kobalt xtr 5 tool kit for $349 the same price as the flex 2 tool combo and the kobalt comes in a rolling hardcase. It was a no brainer.

Yup that is the wisest thing to do Rodney. I learnt my lesson a few years back when I blew my cordless drill when I did not pre drill for a large lag bolt. And if you do not do that you gonna wind up with no drill at all
That's just because the speed it was turning matched the frame rate of the camera in a way that made it look like that. If it was actually turning as slowly as it appears to then the BPM would have been extremely low, and we can tell by the audio that it wasn't.
Chervon seems to use very aggressive overload protection compared to other companies. The drills seem to have more in the tank when they cut out. That really limits the stuff you can accomplish with them. Maybe it will help with longevity if you constantly push it really hard? I don't know, it's just an observation really.
I don’t understand the logic of the 10” lag test why put the tool through a test that you wouldn’t use that tool for in a real situation? With a lag that big I’m sure most people would drive it with a impact wrench and not a hammer drill
What always sucks at looking at things at a high speed like a drill bit or fan is, depending on angle you look from and lighting, they can actually look like they were running backwards. It seemed like it for the Kobalt even slowed down. But the Flex seemed to do it to when it reached a certain speed.
Flex is a hard sell when the lower priced Chervon brands are already so good. You can buy almost the exact same drill as Kobalt, Skil and Erbauer, only real difference is the battery packs.
Don't think so, look how slow it would have been turning. If it was turning that slowly the BPM would have been super low, and we can tell by the audio it wasn't. The speed just happened to match with the camera's frame rate to make it look like that.
its a feature. I point of that stuff in every video for all tool brands. like is it in drill mode or what speed its on. its pretty standard to say during a video that is testing tools out
Flex got the 10 inch lag on turbo mode and with turbo mode off 50 percent or more father then kobalt with 6 plus extra trigger pulls to me flex won that test @Man Caver Tools
So in a good better best is the Kobalt supposed to be the better and the flex the best? Kinda like HD had ryobi as good ridgid as better and milwaukee as best frol TTI?
Turbo will have as much if not more torque compared to non-turbo. I've seen a lot of people think that turbo would have less torque because it's faster. This is not the case because the turbo mode is electronic not mechanical. It pulls more power from the battery in turbo mode so it should have more torque. There is no gear reduction.
Hi there here's another idea For the Milwaukee 2 drawers Take the top drawer and cut out the bottom and joint the side together with the side of the bottom drawer to make one big drawer
Well I'm already sold to Flex in only a year Flex destroyed and Slaughtered the King of Tools 👑 the Undisputed, Unrivaled, Undefeated 👑 King of Tools the Milwaukee got Destroyed and Slaughtered by Flex. DeWalt and Makita as well there all been Slaughtered. And that is only just a 1st Generation Flex line of tools
My flex tools are amazing, and the battery capacity and longevity are amazing. If I was gonna try to save money I’d just buy craftsman tools rather than Kobalt.
It won't Matter, Milwaukee Gen3 Fuel top notch Impact and Hammer Drill got beaten, Destroyed and Slaughtered by Flex 1st Generation Tools. And Flex have Stacked lithium battery technology Milwaukee doesn't have one and Milwaukee is stuck with their 3.0Ah, 6.0Ah and 8.0Ah High output 21700 cell battery. So technically Milwaukee, The undefeated, unrivaled, undisputed king of tools 👑 has been defeated, destroyed and been Slaughtered by Flex.
Put clutch to 24 not together same on both tools so 🤷 your review dont matter. Tool cut out early bc it was set to 12 vs flex 17 u set it to set both to 24 or drill mood on clutch

The 6amp hr stacked lithium battery in the flex really makes drill performance better and lasts longer

I'd also use an impact wrench to put them in. I'd never abuse my drill like that.
I’d just use my impact. 👍🏼
I believe the turbo glitching was just because when the tool gets hot enough, it makes it so turbo can’t be used to prevent overheating.
Looks like the XTR was on reverse when you did the concrete
I'm glad I'm not the only one that seen that
With playback speed at 0.25 you can totally tell its spinning in reverse.... Bad test.
Okay, it’s not just me then, lol
Awful test, clearly ran in reverse. This is embarrassing b

Yep! I agree. I tested that feature too.
The flex is definitely a bit stronger and faster but if you can get a good deal on the Kobalt then that would be the way to go
Flex is a hard sell when the lower priced Chervon brands are already so good. You can buy almost the exact same drill as Kobalt, Skil and Erbauer, only real difference is the battery packs.

Have you ever do a video drilling into tile I install showers everyday and looking for the best drill speed I believe is more important then torque
drilling into tile is an easy task. that is a video on what drill bit is best for it.
I think if the drills didn’t have anti kickback features built in, I think they both would’ve sunk that 10” lag?
I don’t think Kobalt has anti kickback because of the comment about the torque. Flex does have it and it would be able to finish if it wasn’t for that

I believe most of your "oops, Kobolt failed" are kickback protection acting. If tool gets quickly twisted a few degrees - it stops the motor.
Batteries with higher capacity allow for the higher amperage and consequently, higher power output for the same tool.
XTR is a monster. If you can afford the size of them, they are fantastic.
Well tell you what. The real Monster are the ones who defeated, destroyed and Slaughtered the King 👑 of Tools The Milwaukee, Flex did it with ease.
