just bought the mx10004 on the train don't even have to turn on noise cancelling can't hear anything at all. can't wait to try it on a plane as will be flying in one soon
My opinion is following: XM 4 are the best ones compared price to quality and sound, Sony should make them only in black, I've got black ones for roughly €250, xm5 look like they were designed in the 80s, they look like crap, Sony should make xm6 in the alien style, like gaming headphones with fancy lights in various colors, make them big and make the battery capacity twice of xm4 and it would be a best-selling killer!
I'm a watcher (and I'm watching you from ROMANIA for quite some time, 2-3 years, from different accounts), not a commenter but... 1. The quickest way to pair/unpair is by NFC. And the headphones don't even have to be on! With them OFF touch the left cup with the back of the phone and voila. And also to unpair the same (so that you can connect to another device). I found that by using it like this I don't miss being able to be paired to two devices at once (I think xm4 has this ability). I have a bose speaker and has this ability and it's full of bugs and it more annoying than helpful. I found that on WF-1000XM3 (the TWS version) you can do the same but instead of touching a headphone you touch the case. 2. Using XM3 for over a year daily and nightly (having tinnitus I'm sleeping with them on , mostly on one year and the other cup on top of my head, was actually looking for a pillow which can accommodate them :D. the travel ones are not what it takes to be comfortable), even if they have some screeching noises some times, they are very sturdy and durable, I'm amazed by it every morning :) 3. Now that I started commenting one more general tip for the every RUclips consumer. Listen to everything besides music on at least 1.5x, it will take maybe a day maximum to get used then you'll want to speed up even conversations IRL. 2x is doable in 73% of situations. Use keyboard shortcuts if you are on a pc: SHIFT+> or SHIFT+
Hi! I have bought these for use on planes and holidays generally. Will they work with the plane equipment so I can listen to films and music without poor sound?
One question hits me. Why that colour? I've had & extensively used headphones in studios & home in all colours for about 50 years. But tend towards black or grey.
I just purchased these headphones. They sound good so far. But you are right in relation to the touch control. I'm not getting the pause when I double tap, that I do when I use my Bose in NC700s. However the volume up and the forward and reverse or should I say forward track and previous track. Does seem to work.
The build quality is poor, they are creaking when walking (same as XM3) and many people reported "wind noise" on the right cup when ANC is on (caused by condensation inside the earcup). The software & features are good but the build quality is inexcusable. You're better off with Bose 700. Unfortunately I don't think reviewers are honest about these known issues.
Do they sound good with and without ANC turned on? I've returned countless other noise cancelling headphones because the sound changes for the worst after switching thru a different mode, and i don't really like playing with EQ settings since I feel they should sound good right off the bat, just like my ATH-M50x's.
My only "but" is when I try to Bluetooth to my Samsung tv...sound choppy, "drivers" I guess....but if I pause the video for a few seconds, the problem is fixed for some reason. I notice this because my previous headphones were the 700n and no choppy at all ....

I gave them a shot an ordered them at midnight last night after going back and forth with Bose 😂. My AirPods Pro are okay, but not worth the price I’m excited to try the Sonys.
Let me know how it sounds when u get em
just bought the mx10004 on the train don't even have to turn on noise cancelling can't hear anything at all. can't wait to try it on a plane as will be flying in one soon
Would a good name for them not be just xm4? like its clean and works well
Nice contrast of your headphones and t-shirt. Personally not a fan of over the ear headphones. However, a nice long term review
Got them in October 2023 , impressive
My opinion is following:
XM 4 are the best ones compared price to quality and sound, Sony should make them only in black, I've got black ones for roughly €250, xm5 look like they were designed in the 80s, they look like crap, Sony should make xm6 in the alien style, like gaming headphones with fancy lights in various colors, make them big and make the battery capacity twice of xm4 and it would be a best-selling killer!
I'm getting these tomorrow now was gonna go with beats but after watching this they look way better
Good choice man beats sound awful especially compared to these
Beats are not on this level
2. Using XM3 for over a year daily and nightly (having tinnitus I'm sleeping with them on , mostly on one year and the other cup on top of my head, was actually looking for a pillow which can accommodate them :D. the travel ones are not what it takes to be comfortable), even if they have some screeching noises some times, they are very sturdy and durable, I'm amazed by it every morning :)
3. Now that I started commenting one more general tip for the every RUclips consumer. Listen to everything besides music on at least 1.5x, it will take maybe a day maximum to get used then you'll want to speed up even conversations IRL. 2x is doable in 73% of situations. Use keyboard shortcuts if you are on a pc: SHIFT+> or SHIFT+
just bought these to replace my mx3's awesome review
Hi! I have bought these for use on planes and holidays generally. Will they work with the plane equipment so I can listen to films and music without poor sound?
One question hits me. Why that colour?
I've had & extensively used headphones in studios & home in all colours for about 50 years. But tend towards black or grey.
Oh man you play Genshin? What a chad! Watched this video was convinced to place an order. Thanks for the review!
Chad's don't play genshin
Just bought mine for £199 gotta wait a week or 2 to receive them! Hopefully they come on time for my holiday!
I bought one and it's hurt my ears after 2 hours using ...sound is perfect
the headphone's £230 on amazon. I just impulsively bought it. I normally never buy a headphone over £20, so I'm trying to convince myself yolo.
If you go into the app and drag the slider from Max almost all the way back to 0 it has a wind noise mode... But the mic quality is shit house.
Are the ear Cup controls reliable in general? I just returned Beoplays because theirs weren't. Is the battery life really 30 hours?
Do they sound good with and without ANC turned on? I've returned countless other noise cancelling headphones because the sound changes for the worst after switching thru a different mode, and i don't really like playing with EQ settings since I feel they should sound good right off the bat, just like my ATH-M50x's.
What phone is he using great video by the way.
waiting for that 2022 update review!
Are these better than anything else at best buy? Even any of the beats?
Hello, I'm thinking of buying Sony wh1000xm3. If I buy xm4, which xm3 would you recommend? is there any difference between them?
My only "but" is when I try to Bluetooth to my Samsung tv...sound choppy, "drivers" I guess....but if I pause the video for a few seconds, the problem is fixed for some reason.
I notice this because my previous headphones were the 700n and no choppy at all ....
Loving my XM4. You should get the white one!
difference between xm3 and xm4 and is it worth it?
Gonna grab these now thank you!
are these good enough for gaming on the phone with no lag?
v2.5.0 firmware out now and reviewed. Seems to improve the call and mic quality. Slightly.
There's 30% off 'like new' from Amazon France, so £166 including prepaid import duty. After watching this review I've ordered a pair - they're probably just damaged box where someone dropped a pallet. :)
Did you get them OK then?
@@cannyscott I did! They seemed absolutely fine when they arrived and they're great headphones.
Only niggle I have is actually a Mac issue where every time I take them off and then put them back on again they trigger a Play action which on the Mac triggers loading and playing Apple Music.
Everything else about them is fantastic.
@@SlothrockGaming brilliant mate! Thanks for the reply mate! I'm defo going to try and get myself a pair!
Want something for the office. Is there something similar with cable? guess battery will be flat every 2-3 days, and battery capability will decrease quickly
Pretty good. Only issue I have is putting them back in the case 😄
any experience on how does ANC work against high frequency sounds?
Sony wh1000xm4 which phone should i choose to get better sound
Is it me or is it not loud enough
I went to best buy and ask for the loudest bluetooth headphones and am pretty disappointed
Just got these bundled with the Xperia IV. I have other headphones, but they are older. Do I sell them or open the box?
What did you end up doing?
@@DoodleDoo I opened them. Mixed results. On their strongest noise cancelling setting (using the app) you cannot walk with them on because the music distorts. Not sure whether this is a fault or not. Top quality sound, though
Anyone thinking of getting these and picking between the XM5, airpod max or any other headphone, let me save you some time - buy these. I got these recently in midnight blue and MAN they are AMAZING
I know. XM5 sounds way worse which is weird.
The sound quality is good, but it's just not loud enough.
I got some XM3 at the start of the covid lock down, over 1 year ago probably one of the best purchases I have made sadly I feel they will last for a few more years so I won't need to replace them.
Don't feel bad. I was stupid and bought a pair in the hype... Yeah no difference between the xm4 in reality.
Yep just keep the 3s they are just about the same and even have a one better feature the 4s don't have an EQ
Hey man, I am in apple ecosystem but don’t want to spend money on expensive airpods. What is the best earphone that you can recommend to me which has multi device connectivity, great sound and good ANC?
Beats fit pro
@@ShynobieX anything else because beats fit pros aren’t available in india as of now.
You can buy them in Amazon for the US around 200$ or 120$ if you just want the headphones and nothing else
