Out of all the strumming tutorials I’ve seen on RUclips, yours have been the most effective for me. I love the hand washing analogy you keep referencing.
Try "Move Forward Guitar". They provide loads of excellent, free tutorials. Scales, chords, music theory, arpegios the whole list. They present it in very clear, concise format😂.
Nice lesson, as usual! By the way: Can you please make a video about Tash Wolf's tears in heaven cover? 🥺 It’s a great cover, I hope you take it into account.
Interesting lesson. I’ve played for over 50 years and haven’t thought about (or had any issues with) strumming, in decades. But I’m about to turn 62 and I’m starting to have issues with my right hand/forearm muscles. They’re not as flexible as they used to be, and they start to tighten up or even cramp when I try to strum quickly. Especially with fast all-down strumming patterns like any song by the Ramones, or Black Sabath’s “Paranoid.” Obviously, these songs aren’t “funky,” but your work out patterns seem like they could help. Thanks.
Some of us have very dry fingers and plectrums keep slipping out of our hands :-( I've found that using really soft picks for Funk etc is better than say, using a Jim Dunlop Jazz III or one of those thick pointed Jeff Loomis plectrums. Hey ho....
The pick holding technique i go over in this video really helps! Another thing you can do is practice making the pick go in a 360 with just your index finger and thumb....like see if you can get the pick to rotate in a complete 360 just manipulating it between those two fingers. This will help develop subtle control over the pick!
That’s Chinese to me, I can’t do any of that after 40 yrs and still playing, I wonder if you can play my HYBRID RHYTHMS,AS ONLY MY HYBRID rhythms I can play ,but not this stuff.

I agree with this statement. I watched a lot of videos as well and this has been the best.

I cannot keep the wrist loose while holding on to that pick so that it does not rotate between my thumb and index. Any help?
yes, check out my lesson "Strumming Workout Level 2" for a little tutorial on holding the pick for strumming.

How do you deal with the pick moving around in your fingers?
