Really satisfied me seeing Barry not be slower than another speedster rn
Tbh that was the only reason I really liked the end of season 7, because Barry got to show off against Thawne just how much faster than him he really was. Then Armageddon came, and...well, yeah

Barry looks like he's having fun. When Meena throws her lightning, it legit looks like Barry is grinning from ear-to-ear. He's all like, "I can take this, no sweat." He's literally showing off his dance moves to her, and it's epic!

Nah that jump flip thing that he did was because he was comparing meena’s lightning to his, saying in his head “this isn’t velocity 10” or “this isn’t a natural speed force energy” and stuff like that
I don't watch this show anymore but it's great to see Grant giving a fun performance! 🙌

I like how Meena’s speedster lightning is white with a black core to it. It’s really similar to her lightning in the comics.

The fact she can throw lightning means she’s pretty skilled already, took barely long enough to do that she she can’t be that slow, just means Barry is 10x faster than her currently

Try 874030x faster. She said she can run at the speed of sound and the fastest we've seen Barry was in the flashtime episode where he ran 99% of the speed of light making, not mentioning the fact that it's been mentioned that he's "leveled up" meaning he may be even faster.

@@krustysnipezz1179 Barry wasn't actually running anywhere near the speed of light in that flash episode. It may seem like it, but the lightning that was inching towards Barry was at a inclined slope and was not traveling in a vacuum.

Grant's really mastered this role, he plays the Flash just so casually like it's a part of him. The smooth subtle motions he adds to the running/stop running effects are so good...

@@Karazorel.Ms.PG1 no since it doesn't really matter what he's wearing, he can travel through time so that negates any fabric or metal he's wearing.
I just love the fact that Barry got at each destination, before she did, even if he started a good few seconds after she had left. Honestly a great way to show off his new insane speed.
It just took 7/8 seasons for Barry to be the fastest man... in the room.

Grant’s acting here at 1:10 kind of reminds me of John Wesley Shipp’s performance as Barry. There’s a tone of confidence, experience, and golden age morals. Good stuff

She’s a love interest for barry in the comics. Becomes evil for a while when grodd brainwashes her. Then Barry saves her and she becomes a part of the flash family
Barry being faster than the new speedster, freaking her out, that is a nice change of pace from when he is slower than every speedster he meets. I love it!

First seeing Barry having fun and smiling using his speed is so refreshing and second seeing him geek out as the flash and not just as Barry is funny and also fun to watch

Yeah I feel like Thawne is gonna be the one behind this cause he created his own speed force also and the way she said “associate” like Thawne told her not to tell B.A he was working with her
Could easily be a case where Thawne is just duping her into helping him get what he needs, and once he no longer needs her, he'll turn on her and go after Barry....again. But that could just give Meena the opportunity to then prove how far she's come since meeting Barry here by somehow saving Barry from Thawne and then helping Barry to stop Thawne.

Glad Meena’s finally hear! Hope she stays as on the show after this arc with Thawne as a recurring “main” character. We need other speedsters on the team besides Jay,Bart and Nora who only show up for temporary team ups.

@@buincqv67 what they should have done is have had Wally disappear during Crisis unbeknownst to everyone. Everyone forgets Wally. He comes out of the Speed Force, telling everyone goodbye, and that even if they don't remember him, he loves them. Right before he fades, Barry remembers him, and grabs his hand, pulling him out of the Speed Force. Wally becomes a series regular, being there during most episodes of these seasons.
I love this show STILL! I look forward to when it becomes a collected dvd of all the seasons someday. This young man embodies the Barry Allen I have grown up reading for 40 plus years.

The Flash has finally evolved
At 2:00 it felt like a Dhar Mann video. Jokes aside, I enjoyed the way Barry was handled this episode, actually feels like his combat skills have grown.
0:48 was really expecting a zoom moment where he'd take the bolt and throw it back but it was just as cool anyways 😎

the interesting thing about introducing Meena is that in the comics Barry actually had rejected Iris since he wanted to focus on being The Flash, so they weren't together at the time. if Meena and Barry have some sort of fling on the TV show it would technically make Barry a cheater...but we'll see what CW does lol

Well they were practically running circles that whole time….so thus she charged also we saw Thawne do that in Armageddon and he was standing still also we don’t know how long she’s been training with her team so she may have just figured it out
1. Her source of power allows her to.
2. Throwing lightning isn’t like something you unlock persay just learn. For example Wally did his phasing a bit easier I believe than Barry. He later doesn’t like unlock it just learns to better control lighting to create constructs.
3. It’s just something cool. This is honestly the likely reason plus those stuff aren’t like really a thing anymore: training.
She's also a genius physicist. She probably deduced she could do that, then tried until she did.

This is a most interesting surprise I’m familiar with her character they dated in the comics and even went to Bali together I doubt they’ll adapt that part but the actress playing her is really cool. Haven’t been this interested in the flash in a long while
They got a nice experienced actress to play this part. This will be an interesting last "story" to season 8. We don't know yet what we will get for season 9. All we know is Grant Gusten and Danielle Panabaker have resigned for one more year, and Jessie L. Martin did not. No news on Candice Patton yet. Not even sure if we get 20 episodes for next season which in all likelihood will be its last.
Her lightning reminded me of the black saber from The Mandalorion.. I guess they have to eventually come up with different colored lightning effects to make characters stand out. The Reverse Flash's gradient yellow to black suit, red lighting, blurring face effect, and red glowing eyes will always be the coolest for me. It's how a true speedster hides their identity.

The fact that thawne said “no one can replace me as the speedster” is actually right cuz no one will replace him except himself from the past future when he was younger before he became the reverse flash when he is perfecting the negative speedforce that why meena was able to do the Lightning bolt move like the flash that who meena said was when she told Barry that she and her co worker been working out her co worker is young thawne 💀
I love how it takes Barry an entire episode to learn how to throw lightning and then Kaitlyn and now this new speed eater can just randomly throw lightning no problem at all
