It’s good to listen to stories from the past. You mentioned guys packing other guys. It was common for guys to give another dude a ride. One time a friend of ours was giving me a ride on his Norton. I admit his skills were way crazy and I ended up getting off and walking. It’s no wonder his name was Storman Norman. This was in 72 or so in Pasadena. Pasadena had some wild times in the 70s. You know one thing I’ll always remember. The same day of the Columbine High School massacre I was up visiting friends in Ojai. It also was the same day the cops raided your club house or tattoo parlor. When I returned home I was watching the news about Columbine and it was such a big story the Ventura raid got about a 2 minute story. Well take care I better go now before I start yapping.
In the early 70s,my parents were cool enough to let me have a subscription for Hot Choppers and a few other bike magazines that I still have a few of. They influenced my love of bikes, specifically choppers. Love the 'outlaw' style and image, but never had the urge to wear a patch myself.
