Hi my name is Carl Jacobson,
I started woodworking with my grandfather as a young boy. I continued woodworking through high school, and started woodturning after seeing a turned project in a friends shop. Some of my fondest memories are working with my grandfather in his wood shop. Being able to share our passion for woodworking, ties it all together. We also do a lot of epoxy projects as well as woodturning.
Robins laugh when the hat falls got me laughing for some reason. Lol.
😁
Very cool use of otherwise unusable but very pretty wood. Really like how it turned out. Applying that finish gives a different take on the phrase "anointing his head with oil" 😄
...may have been a lot of jaw changing on this project, but there's some jaw dropping here...that grain is amazing!...congrats...👍
Matt
Thank you very much Matt!
Really awesome Gnome! Great work Carl and hope that all is well! 👍👍
Thank you Steve, you too.
Really cute idea. Wow that was a soft maple burl. Great job.
Thank you John! Yeah it's pretty bad I wouldn't have used it for many other projects.

Yes most definitely the oil brings out the grain. Some nice lines as well.
Thank you Robert!
Really neat, Carl. Maybe add a beard to it. Did I hear Robin laugh at you when you dropped the hat?
Bill
Thank you Bill, yes that was Robin laughing at me dropping it 🙂

It's not what I expected when you said gnome. But i like it. Cute. Well done even with the difficult maple. Thank you for sharing. Have a great day and stay safe.🙂🙂
