As you say, pretty cool to find such old but original material. One comment: I noticed that one of the flms said "duPont" on the edges. I didn't know that duPont made film stock.
Thinking of it some more, watching this video make me think of all those Fleischer Popeye cartoons AAP had to go through to put on THEIR logos/title sequences back in the 50's.
And also, there's the MGM Jackie logo on a 35mm nitrate film at 6:36 which is pretty cool, and it is still creepy to this day along with the rest of the MGM lions (Telly, Coffee, Tanner, George and Leo) that is still scary as hell.
What with the MGM Jackie logo at 3:05? This is a negative film and this inverted MGM Jackie logo on 35mm nitrate film gives me super nightmares. They should called "MGM Jackie logo in G Major" to make this logo demonic.
What a treat! For those of us who are more "armchair" film preservation geeks, this kind of stuff is absolutely heaven!
Sure is.
Thanks for posting this! Love the technical nitty gritty.
Great video Steve. I wish I knew more about film and restoration of physical materials.
I can't wait for the finished product

This is the type of stuff that makes me want to become a film preservationist.

What is your favorite Flip cartoon?
I like "Funny Face" and "Coo Coo The Magician"!
😊
Mine is "Fiddlesticks". I can't wait to see it restored. I hope it's a great restoration.
Mines will always be Movie Mad and School Days
Can you Color it? You know, colorize black and white.
It's possible but colorizing it would ruin the original preserved print
@@22snazario Oh, come on. It will be fine.
@@retrolopez8321 Thunderbean already released the DVD so it's late anyway.
