The street has changed a lot wow, was there in 2010 stayed at tiger and was completely different to this, it was before Phuket top team gym when the owner had his fight gear store and tiger was pretty much the only gym with a couple small Muay Thai gyms and it was surrounded by farmland. Great to see it how it is now what a vibe there

I suppose it's more to be in a different environment, remove certain distractions that you can't necessarily remove but can when you go travelling and gain a new perspective. It probably sounds silly but that's the best that I can explain it.

Wow, just like Khao San Road this place acts as a magnet for the type of tourists, backpackers and assorted chancers and grifters that need to be avoided like the plague - which means much fewer of them in the places I like to chill at elsewhere in Thailand. Please watch out for scams, thefts, drinking too much etc. if you insist on going to this kind of place. Be especially wary of Westerners who approach you who seem to be living there with no visible means of supporting themselves - chances are they are dodgy as.
I loathe Phuket. It's stinking hot, in the wet season pisses down rain daily for long periods, the taxi mafia have a monopoly and it's equally if not more expensive than a major city in the western world. Having said that, "half of Auburn is here" is probably the most compelling reason I have ever heard to never go back there.
Tiger Muay Thai is the place to be It's evolved massively over the years all it's missing is a good spa recovery centre now weather looked beaut there full pumping summertime vibes 🤙
My ex-husband and nephew went for a month to Tiger Muay Thai just to get fit and learn about the sport and culture, they had nothing but great things to say. My nephew and his mum then continued training for a while under John Wayne Parr in Queensland Australia his wife Angie who are well respected in Thailand. My nephew and his mum don't do it anymore but praise Tiger mauy and Thailand fighters and JWP

Been going there every 3 years for almost 15 years now It’s crazy how much it’s changed, I was there last year and it’s so sad to see how many weed shops have taken over 15 years ago the street had like 3 gyms, a bunch of farms and some massage shops Now it’s just gyms on top of gyms and you can’t walk the streets as much without having to look out for cars I wouldn’t eat at Tony’s, it used to be really popular a long time ago but it’s dropped in quality over the years The 2nd unit 27 gym you saw is just a gym like you assumed but management have zero flexibility and the equipment is poorly arranged all over each other The food at Tiger is the best if you want clean food I’ve been there when GSP, Alistair Overeem, Petr Yan, Khamzat and Valentina were training over the years
