Galápagos Islands: Sierra Negra Volcano, Isabela

There was no wildlife to ogle over today, save for the odd bird or two, but walking along the lava fields of Isabela’s Sierra Negra was a sight to behold. A still active volcano which last erupted in 2018, its eruptions, along with those of the island’s other active volcanos have contributed to the near extinction of Isabela’s giant tortoise population.
