I think you would be better keeping an inline motor, more room for the driver, either a Mercedes om606 diesel or a Chevy 4.2 from a trailblazer, I had a 4.8 and a 4.2 both brand new and the 4.2 had more power
With the doghouse, the engine will take up about the same space. Im not too much worried about power. The 5.3 will be plenty, I just want it to be reliable. If I decide to go crazy I do have a 6.0L I can put a twin turbo setup on.
There you go!
I have saw pictures of some of these restored and customized they look great. Thanks for sharing
Yeah they are cool and are different for sure.
Love your things, James. Keep the faith and thanks!
Cool all the way around.. I have a 63.. I'm in NC... interested in the progress!
Thank you. I havent worked on it in a while. Hope to be back on it soon.
My old shop had one of these dropped with a 350 and a thumper cam. Wasn't very fast but man she looked (and sounded) awesome.
Well with something this big looking and sounding good is all that matters.
Can’t wait to see it in brown! 👍
Great video. Good job. Keep it up. 👍🏻
It's good to hear that vintage engine running..if you don't keep it, it can probably make you a few bucks towards the project.
Hate to show how dumb I am but who made the drive train for those vans ?
Sounds pretty solid.
This one is Chevrolet drivetrain and chassis. You could get them with Ford drivetrain and chassis also.
good video i got my 1961 chevy dubl-duti step van running on my channel
good video, i got my 1961 chevy dubl duti step van running, on my channel
I thought you were gonna swap the van chassis into it?
I still am but I would like to be able to move it around until then. It was easy enough to get it running.

@@4LaneBlacktop watch the hoonigan build of their merch truck, there’s not a lot of room in there
