    This is bringing dissonance between power chords for variation, a typical for alternative and nu metal.
    But basically, it started as dissonant but richer chords during 80's in Hair Metal which I love the most.
    Good work.

    • @jasonstallworth
      @jasonstallworth  2 года назад +1

      Yeah dude, the treble is around 6.5 and gain is around the same, so nothing super high. I actually have another video going over my typical settings here: ruclips.net/video/xCeuLSFvZZg/видео.html

    Not the same, but the idea.

    Just curious, I haven't watched enough of your videos so you may have addressed this: do you use a noise gate? Also, what's your favorite pedal for medal? I've been playing a long time and perform as a solo singer/player, mostly rock, pop and some country. I never thought or listened to metal and hearing some of the licks in you videos has sparked a desire to give it a go. You play great metal while sounding really clean at the same time, I would like to have that sound. I just want to get the equipment right and probably have what I need already.

    • @jasonstallworth
      @jasonstallworth  2 года назад

      When playing through a real amp, yes, a noise gate is almost always necessary with high gain. I don't use any pedals for metal. I currently have an EVH 5150 III (the one in this video) and the red channel doesn't need any OD or boost.
      I have a post here that goes through my tone settings: www.jasonstallworth.com/metal-tones-virtual-and-real-amp-settings/

      @@jasonstallworth Great video, in the future if I have questions I'll do a search of your previous videos. In a very recent video I said metal appeared to be easy, I have been put in my place, lol. Yes, the chords are easy but I'm finding it will take quite a while for my muscle memory to adapt to this fast paced arena. That combined with getting that perfect sound will keep me busy for months I'm sure. Yep, I'm going to enjoy this. FYI, I'm 67 and never thought metal would appeal to me but I'm having a blast. THANKS for the inspiration.

    Jason what are your thoughts on learning scales and sequences? My teacher has been having me spend a lot of time practicing pentatonic and diatonic scales and sequences of four patterns.

    • @jasonstallworth
      @jasonstallworth  2 года назад +2

      Dude, I never dove deep into that stuff. The last thing you want to do in a guitar solo is play a scale. Doesn't mean you shouldn't learn them. I just never went that route.

    • @GuitarsAndSynths
      @GuitarsAndSynths 2 года назад +1

      @@jasonstallworth agree and at first hated it but over time it has improved my dexterity on the fretboard and open up ways to create riffs and solos from scalar fragments and sequences all over the guitar fretboard. Glad to learn it. But I only warm up few minutes a day playing the pentatonic and diatonic scale sequences and spend most time learning and creating riffs, licks and songs.

    Sounds awesome but yeah… very Warren DeMartini similar but better. I’ve only been to southern Thailand but have you been there before? I had a really awesome experience writing an elephant out there and if you ever get a chance, I highly recommend doing it.

      @jasonstallworth  2 года назад

      Dude, my wife is half Thai and we have family there. We hope to go there again soon next year, and there's even a little talk of possibly moving there at some point.
      We don't ride elephants (Changs in Thai ช้าง) ...some of the folks that work them like that treat them really badly. There are a couple of really cool elephant sanctuaries over there that we plan to visit next time.

    Why do people do stupid intros like this? Does YT suggest/ force you do them?
    They make you look foolish. Sames goes for the goofy face thumbnail pics.
    These intros and goofy thumbnail pics make me not want to watch the videos.

    • @jasonstallworth
      @jasonstallworth  2 года назад +5

      RUclips doesn't force anything. I simply make videos that I like to make. If folks don't like them for whatever reason, they're free to move along and watch something they like better. It's that simple.

    Awesome Metal riffs Jason I should try those out any way Jason I had to turn off my notifications for all replies on any yotube videos that I made comments on because I have been getting some real rude and disrespectful replies back and I don't want to see them any more on my notifications I'm sure you know what I mean stupid people everywhere online no matter how many times I block or report them they just keep popping back up. Any way Jason thanks for showing us this rock on man stay safe and healthy out there 👍👍🆒🆒🤘 🤘

    • @jasonstallworth
      @jasonstallworth  2 года назад +1

      Yep, you're going definitely going to have those folks that want to tear others down. Just remember that those people are typically miserable with their own life because they've chosen not to pursue anything great. So they make themselves feel better by putting someone else down. All that said, you can't allow your own pursuit of greatness to be dictated by what others think. So man, I encourage to keep pushing and do what you do. And not everything you put out there will be perfect or substantial, especially in the beginning. But if you go all-in, you leave yourself no choice but to get better and better.
