Universities were just as anxious to enroll more women and other minorities, and they were as keen on increasing the fraction of all kids attending college. But there was a problem. University courses were hard; too hard to pass for the average kid. Not everybody can understand quantum physics, or Shakespeare, or the Peace of Westphalia, or differential equations, or the lymphatic system.
So, in order to put more kids through the system, the system had to be weakened and changed in its fundamental nature. No longer the place to study “the best that has been thought and said”, or even the place to gain training in a highly specialized subject, it was now primarily the place devoted to Culture as a thing in itself. And now we not only have “degree” programs in Africana Studies, but also Women’s Studies, Communications, Education, Gender Studies, Sports Education, or others that will quickly come to mind. Watch the Jewish student at UCLA being blocked, not by the black security guard that didn't help him pass, but by pro-Hamas supporters. Disgusting that this is happening in our country. I was a victim of childhood abuse too. My health has suffered all of my life because of it. Unfortunately I've had to deal with many healthcare professionals who were also very abusive. Ableists are rampid in the healthcare system.

I am an Israeli Jew, I grew up in Israel, I served 3 mandatory years in the army and I did about 20 years of reserve, which is about a month or more every year. After October 7, I did 4 months of reserve. So you can say that I have been fighting all my life. I know what people see in the news but people see what they want to see. Listen to me when I say it's not racism and it's not hate. You can't make peace with them, period. Islam is the most extreme religion there is, it is true that not all of them but the majority and especially the extremists want to take over everything, Israel, Europe, America. Please do everything you can to denounce this from your society because it's coming and you can't go back. Go out, protest, speak, scream, not for Israel, for you, because once again it will not end until you take a serious and firm position against this nonsense!

You're right that the extreme left or radical members who believe in Jihad cannot be trusted whatsoever I think it was Brigitte Gabriel who tried to warn us something like 20 years ago. There is something like 1.8 billion people practicing the Muslim faith and there's approximately 15 to 20% of that 1.8 billion who are extreme radicals. Then if we went a little towards the right we would find the folks aligning with middle of the road and further right, more relaxed what's my radical ideologies.
The crazy and most alarming or concerning fact is the extreme radical can easily influence the folks in the middle and convert them into believing more radical and violent ideologies.
