- From North Cameroon to Chad, from the land of the ancient elephants to the dunes of Kanem, this film is a non-stop journey in the form of a logbook, through a little known, almost forbidden land that is a wealth of astonishing countryside and unusual people. The Kapsiki villages hanging off the side of volcanic peaks, our itinerary of contrast and adventure continues towards the wildlife reserves of Waza then on to N’Djaména and the Chari River. Finally we arrive at the banks of Lake Chad with its fishermen and its polders in the middle of the desert. And to finish, the oasis which borders the small town of Mao, in the province of Kanem.

Wow, I love this doc. Love how we hear the native voices and get the answers to some very interesting questions. I would like to see more of this documentarian's adventures. Great job!
Thank you so much for sharing this lovely video with us.
So interesting and thank you so much for sharing your trip with us. Blessings from Ohio, USA.
The guy is a fearless and intrepid traveler! Good narration! Exciting, informative, fascinating! Thankyou!
I love these documentaries about West Africa. I'm from Namibia, southern Africa.
Chadians consider themselves West African because they contain the same tribes as other West African countries
Zeramey still not and most don't have west Africa features if u look deep in the country.
Hajurah Journey West Africans come in all shades..I think Chadians resembles West Africans more than North Africans
People from west Africa have unique features and culture. so different from East and southAfrica. so fascinating. You cannot compare them to Tanzania or Kenya
Chad is central Africa
This documentary is superb. Motion pictures, narration, terrains, and the coverage areas are thorough. Thanks for this wonderful documentary.
Something draws me back to these lands...these grandiose African lands! My heart and soul resonates when I see these great tribes. The tribes are exemplary in how they live in harmony with nature - we have a lot to learn from them
Marvelous video of glorious African life. Thanks.
God Bless Chad.....from Romania.
thanks very much for this wonderful documentary ....you showed us some best peoples in the world....I wish to visit Tchad soon In sha Allah,,!
Interesting oldmen.....One love from Kenya.
Respects for this educational video.
God bless Chad
they need God's blessings
one of the best countries
Nice piece of work,love Africa
Thank you for this video. I like to see how other people live. These people are so in tune and living in harmony with their environment, we should all have this basic skill. I'm glad to see that they are still eating their nutritious indigenous crops of sourgum, maize, etc, and not the GMO over=ptocessed junk foods that are giving so many people here in the US diabetes, obesity and other diseases. The landscapes are beautiful too. Very interesting.
quit an interesting documentation,i'm a Chadian...I liked the lac chad part i've always wanted to explore ma country especially the lac chad region
Go you live in Chad or elsewhere?
i am currently in new Delhi

Islam even there.. 😘😍
This is a very interesting documentary about Chad. I'm from there but have not explore my own country to know the culture of my people. Through this video I've learned a lot.

I have been there during the "70"s,it brings me a lot of memories, because I stardet my journey from Nigeria..Bravo!
Highly interesting and rare insight in this generally unknown part of Africa.
Fantastic !! I thoroughly enjoyed your journey😊
Beautiful documentary
This was a fascinating documentary; well worth watching. I love the music. Thanks!
The stone work on those huts/ homes are perfection, very talented and gifted people.
Very nice doc.
I must confess , the video is interesting.
great documentary
Thank u dear.....
You've done well! I've learnt a lot
These impressive old persons are to be respected. It's rare to live long there. But if you see one, s/he deserves respect. They have somehow secrets of life.
Ok ....but everybody deserves respect , not just because you're old..... That's another one of Africa's stereo types , that it's "rare to live long there" ....Some people manage to live long in adverse situations because they had the right genes , or were lucky.... This particular fascinating old man had countless wives that cared for him....No surprise that most of *them* are dead.....'
These are more than likely a lost tribe of isreal..
The more Africans are exposed to western ways of life, the younger they die, trust me. The rate at which young people die nowadays in most African countries.
Africa is so beautiful adventurers.
Great documentary love it
Suuuper super documentary.
I was really worried about you going to Chad, until I saw the stick formations at 7:05, thank god they came out positive, everything's going to be alright. :)

Great video
African heritage is the most beautiful
Fascinating !! Thanks .
hey living in Chad is like stepping back into another forgotten era, omg!
I am 100% Chadian ask me about chad and I'll tell you. This documentary is completely wrong. This is just to emphasis the stigma that westerners have of Africa. Chad is a beautiful country with lots of mining resources.
AFRICANS MUST TELL THEIR OWN STORY
Every one has a story. Every one has a unique life. Whether the experience is true or not it is what they experienced, it is what they believe they experienced. If you have light, help dispel the darkness. Tell us what you know. He will tell what he knows... he is new to all this. All of us, each of us has misconceptions that need forgiveness and correction
Josiane Darwatoye If thats not true give us the truth then other than putting down someone's effort!
Because they are western production then it has to be a wrong narrative? In fact I have learnt more about my continent from western documentary. If you have a different story why not consult a film producer in your country or come up with a proposal to a TV station for funding? The truth is Africa is grossly underdeveloped and our people are suffering and if this kind of documentary can highlight some of our shortcomings maybe we all can devise a future plan for improvement?.
Is the camera laing?
WeWuzKangzNShieeet!
Great Story
Awww i like this documentary
Thank you for sharing your journey with us..
Am from southern Africa, Namibia
Me too my friend I am in the United States

Thats so cool. I want to go to Tchad!
nice video. i love it
VERY interesting .-)
Amazing country 💖.
True,hard bt inviting
Nice documentary t.y.
Thanks for posting Renauld Jean-Thomas! Question: around 16:56 toolmaking. There is an important part missing. Right? The toolmaker put clay around the metal. Burns it and remove the burned clay. This looks stupid. The background report does not fit to the scenes. Or have I misunderstood something? By the way. I think those crafts are very important to document. These knowledge which still exist shows how to do complex things just with materials from soil and wood and fire. To the audience: would you know how to make it by yourself?
Hi, thanks for sharing....and please if someone knows the name of the amazing song on 26:25min....it would be much appreciated.
All the best from Croatia.
the same question
I Can't Help Everytime I Watch An African Documentary I See People Who Resembles Someone I Know Here In America😌 Even People In My Family🤔 And I Wonder Who I Am😔Am I A Part Of These People Are They Distant Relative's? That Aweful Slave Trade Stole More Than People😲It Cut The Bloodlines That Could Have Lead You Back Home🤦🏽😔🙏🏽
I love the song that's played in the end segment. I tried very hard on the net for the song. Unfortunately failed. Will anyone please send me the link for this particular song. Love from India. Such a fantastic documentary.
In addition, the government ought to imitate the economy of Botswana, a country that, with what it has, (which is not much) has managed to extract the product, has grown to high levels with the consequent benefit for much of his country. Good luck Chad.
But they won't. Idriss Déby (and Paul Biya) are obsessed with power
I love this video!!! Far away places I havent been.. I love to travel!
Vegan Gem of your planning to go there it’s not common that there will be some dangerous things out there I prefer the less populated cities so you can be more safe
Stay away. There is enough filth out there.
Vegan
Using crabs to tell the future? Oh mama Africa breaks my heart. The crabs cannot even tell when they would end up in the soup, let alone to tell a man’s destiny. Bon voyage!
Respectfully Done1!$
amazing video
Great people
OMG i cant believe i understand their language , i never knew they spoke Arabic , so cool.
There are many Arabic tribes in Chad you will be surprised
Really where you from ?
60% of africa speaks arabic
@@yahiakubara7446 there are some people in Chad Niger northern Nigeria and northern Ghana who speak Arabic
The music!! It's out of this world 💗 Anyone knows where can I get it? I tried to search on youtube, no luck. Shazam doesn't recognize it either.
Example of King Hezekiah showing the enemy all his wealth and the enemy comes back and take it all!!
You're thinking right. The guy said he was turbo g his back on the western world and heading into the unknown. He should imagine how the Africans who were stolen by his ancestors felt.
What if this documentary is being made to document this area before it’s taken over and modernized
Nice documentary destination to Tchad, it is interesting to know about different culture from African countries, I did not have more knowledge about Tchad and its people.
Such a wonderful documentary... And PLEASE someone tell me where can I find this music. Was looking on youtube and Apple music, no luck :(
I liked it. Black British 🇬🇧
The german accent at the end is very authentic
Great documentary and filming very interesting I dont have high hopes of the crude oil extraction being of some or any benefit to the local people.
Africa must tell their own story and reclaim their country.
Adventure or advantage?
I'm in love with the Kirdi people . Beautifull
41:56 Lake Chad has reduced 90% in size since the filming of this documentary. Was this natural? Or by design of oil companies to exploit the lake?
good
reality is these security doest work when armed robbers attacks. they run away. God Blessed You
Some help get the title of the song 42:57 maku maku maku foderha
Love the documentary hate the self serving narrator. No one begged you to go to Africa, so stop with your whining about security, the heat or the ‘poverty’.
Sure......such a whiner......just stated a few times how he experienced this journey ,which was positive for the most part....Ofcourse we have to be political correct and not state a few negative things we might encounter....We are ofcourse dealing with sensitive Africa here , where many from the west have a guilt complex about.....as if *that* will help this continent.
Awww thought as much
I thought I was the only one who thought he thinks he is the center of God knows what. Typical!
At least he went on his own but the African stolen and put in chains didn't make the decision to leave Africa
Exactly!
Song at 26:28?
Ppl with good heart alway taking advantagenish of they Know what they are Looking for may be Looking for the the act of convena u ppl will keep on Looking and never found until the World is a better Palace then u will Know who is a true brother in this World.
I'm a LIBERIAN , I love this documentary so much .
This is pretty much interesting to me , and I guess it's interesting to OTHER listeners too.
Did not get the name of the tribe in North Cameroon. Kurdi?
Kirdi I think.
Enthralling all the way. I guess the local people celebrated with a dance possibly because they may have be a chance of commerce. It has always been like that in Africa. The stranger turn up and ask the locals to perform a dance, meanwhile dishing out pens and a few coins.
They do have a thriving dance culture
❤❤❤
This is about chad or Cameroon
This are the countries that give their resources to france chad is an oil producing country but the poverty is glaring only french companies mine the oil yu get your answer
6:05 "The witch doctor takes another sniff of snuff. This must help him to maintain concentration." Hehe.
Why you playing scary sound
to make people subliminally fear Africans and African culture
I'm tchadian this is not tchadian documentary this is about Cameroon and all West African countries
It's more like a documentation of a journey into chad rather than chad itself
Wow wow.more knowledge behind our assistance history.if we the new generation modernize it.and stop negatives towered our people's in terms of they're living.
46:30 Mins - Did you say the best farmers name was Mohammed Tchukwu?
Lake Chad area is developed to a no go area for any foreign visitors since terror troops Boko Haram brought evil cruelty barbarity to their own africa's people. Who can say something about the situation right now? Summer 2018?
Did you ever get a chance to talk to Chad? It's been a while since I've seen him. 'Ol big nosed Chad, good guy though.
The crude oil has since been exploited with very little benefits for the natives. A very interesting documentary, it was like going back to the late 1800s
I heard people dont like filming or taking pictures in Chad from some travelers. I dont know for sure though
50:46 It's always been like that, as more you get as more your greed increases.
18:15 when someone ask you for the first time a question like that
Wow wow wow from nothing you get something.from something you get nothing.
90% of Americans have never even heard of Chad and probably at least half the French! A landlocked north central African country with an American male’s first name. Interesting!
Jon Stewart American? Chad is a Welsh name. But the country gets its name from the lake Chad; where Chad means 'lake'.
