I'm a year late but it was the first and only thing I could think of. BTW , the only 😊response if you're ever called a mother fu**er is "I might be a mother fu**er but at least the mother I fu**ed ain't mine"
I made my mom start watching this channel with me ages ago, and we developed a joke that Sullivan is just like Winnie the pooh and Adam is his Tigger… the fact that this question came up and they chose each others characters to date has me even more convinced that they are soulmates, lmao
There was a lightbulb cartel operating between the 20s and 50s that artificially limited the life of their bulbs to make people buy more, but they were caught and regulations were put in place. There's a large trade-off between efficiency and lifespan in incandescent lightbulbs though. The bulbs that have lasted over 100 years have thicker filaments, and produce less light for the power they consume. They switched to tungsten filaments because they're more efficient, but at the operating temperature, tungsten evaporates.
The cartel didn't limit the lifespan to sell more lightbulbs. They did it because the inefficient bulbs meant power companies (which several of the cartel members also were) needed more infrastructure. Some power companies used to give away lightbulbs just so people wouldn't use inefficient ones as lightbulbs are dirt cheap.
I want to thank the NRB crew for getting me into board games. I have made great lifelong friends from the hobby and it has helped me socialize more with people and gain confidence in approaching new people
Any episode with Rosie and/or Dom is an instant classic, Maanuv being back just makes that classic even cooler! Sort of like watching The Thing while eating ice cream
I have been out of work due to health issues and every time I see a board game club not only does it make my day but I know what day it is! "Oh, it's Tuesday!" 😂🤣😂🤣
Personally, my favorite is Tilly, she's funny no matter the episode, sometimes you don't even know what to expect but I love her in every video Tho Teri is on a league of her own when it comes to House Rules (and that card thing on What's Next")
everyone going for types of pepper when the first 3 answers that jumped to mind for me straight away were "Doctor", "Sergeant", and "Salt n' " in that order 😂
My favorite parts of any NRB video is whenever Dom looks off into the middle distance for 10 seconds as he thinks up a rebuttal to the roast he just got served.
Maybe this year, instead of Adam trying to prove he's great at board games, maybe Sully can do the challenge. If he doesn't get enough wins by the end of the year, he has to eat a bowl of long noodles without using his hands.
When everyone said flying car I was a bit shocked......there is a lot more to see in the ocean than in the sky plus with planes, helicopters, drones, etc....flying cars would be a nightmare.....and imagine living on 12th floor of a building and a car crashes through your window still...scary
...this is the type of game I would never want to play myself, waaay too stressfull, but always would love to watch again with you guys. It's so much fun!
Rosie, Dom and Sully are my favourites!! Rosie is just so confidently and has that strangeness that totally cracks me up, Dom is authoritatively correct, assured and amusing and Sully is a total sweetheart with an absolute goofy goober sense of humour. The holy trinity really
so I looked up information on the Light Bulb for you guys in the comments, the longest lasting Light Bulb is a light bulb found in a fire station in Livermore California. this bulb does work but the problem is older bulbs start to emit less light, so while it was a 30 watt bulb that emitted the same light as any light bulb you have today, it started to lose light and now basically just emits light enough to say that its on and is essentially a glorified night light. this light bulb is called "Centennial light" and is the oldest light that we can confirm (sort of) the age of when it was put in, being 116 years old. there are 2 other worthy examples of long living light bulbs, the first being "the Ediswan light bulb" which is said to be 134 years old but this bulb is really just kinda hearsay, its owned by a woman and she claims its the oldest light bulb. the other one is called "the eternal light" which was put in by stage hands and is now 109 years old, but also interesting is that this bulb was meant to be destroyed when its original home, the byers opera house, was set for demolition however 1 man named George Dato saved it and eventually sold it to stockyards museum where it stays on for 24 hours and even has an entire facebook page. you made me jump down the light bulb rabbit hole Sullivan. I hope you are happy.
My favourite is Isaac. He brings chaotic energy into the games which I always appreciate. At the same time it's not like there is a member of NRB that doesn't bring something unique to the show.
Not gonna lie, there is no world in which I consider this a "good game". BUT..... with this crowd? Hilarious. I think you should have Dom and Rosie on every party game episode.
Good as in "very competitively viable", nah. Good as in pretty decent questions for discussion? Sure! Herd Mentality is a very similar idea with _slightly_ more "ability to be competitive" since it has the "blocked from winning if you screw up even though you have points" thing built in - but in the form of a single pink cow that you only lose by someone else messing up later.
people will always remember those with courage! no one remembers people like tolkien or pratchett who had fantastic imaginations, we will only ever remember those couragous people!
Since we're all naming our favorites, I like Adam and Sully the best and I'm very glad they're in every episode. After them it's definitely Laurie, Brooke, and Rosie!
Better house-rule for this game: If you are on the green team and you get it right, you score 2 points but you still flip your card to orange team. This reduces the amount of points you can get but it doesn't break your game if you get the final one right.

Nor did I expect Pooh to be chosen as the best marriage partner, even though "he's practically brain dead". Board Game Club never fails to amaze, amuse, and utterly stupefy me.
I just had to skip that bit, sadly. Having precisely zero knowledge of the books in question made it entirely impenetrable to me. The constant shouting over each other didn’t help either; that’s one of the main reasons I always watch things with subtitles, so their unavailability just made that an unintelligible wall of noise.
13:57 - I feel like people who went dessert definitely knows you share a cheeseboard, even if I was definitely at camp appetizer. Also Dom is delightfully sinister! More please!
A clip to introduce two NRB members in a span of 10 seconds: 19:35 Rosie: "It's good to know how to relate to other people in a team setting. :)" Dom: *uncontrollable laughter*
Look, I think I'd least like to be in relationship with Tigger but if we're talking who'd bring the most? Think of it this way, with his energy someone would ask 'so what's he like?' to which the response would be 'Well... he's a lot." One of the best out-of-context statements I've ever written there.

Be honest we were all thinking mother.. F
Thank you Sully! Don't tell Dom, let him keep his delusions, but you're my favorite.
You know you're in for a treat when Dom's on the show. He is the protagonist after all.
We’re all side characters in this world and Dom is the star
And always right.

Better House Rule Version : Must agree with Teri to be on the Green Team and get points
Amazing idea
I would deeply love to see this.
Even better (worse for them) have to agree with Brooke
oh god.. please yes!!

Highlight of the episode for me!
It was the most logical answer! 😂
We were all thinking it.
It was the first thing that came to my mind 😂
I can't believe they didn't all put that down, it's so obviously the right answer 🤣
Maanuv's "mother" answer was the only correct answer, and you all let him down.
Agreed, it was literally my first thought and I was disappointed in the group for letting him down lmfao
came to say the same thing

BTW , the only 😊response if you're ever called a mother fu**er is "I might be a mother fu**er but at least the mother I fu**ed ain't mine"
I thought it would be more common than it was with this group of players.
Dom being so confident people would write “King Dom” 😅
It's a brilliant pun
I was confident people would write it.
Am I too American? I was surprised no one mentioned King Kong.
It's why he's King.
I was half expecting someone to anticipate Dom writing his own name down and write it too to be on Green Team
There was not NEARLY enough reaction to Sully saying "I thought you'd all say grades cause you're a bunch of f***n nerds"
100% with maanuv on the mother question
Agreed
I thought that's what they were all going to put down
I made my mom start watching this channel with me ages ago, and we developed a joke that Sullivan is just like Winnie the pooh and Adam is his Tigger… the fact that this question came up and they chose each others characters to date has me even more convinced that they are soulmates, lmao

Maanuv adds a really *cool* dynamic with the crew, especially with Dom and Rosie. Hopefully he can be more frequently on the show
I love most things about NRB. But I think the thing I love the most is that they introduced us to the psychopath that is Dom Allen 🤣
Congratulations to Maanuv on the Bafta win. Very well deserved, your performance moved me. What a leading man. 10/10
I unironically love Dom. He’s such a spiteful and corny man and for some reason I like that.
Dom threatening the comments to say he's the favorite 😂😂😂
Kudos to James for not only putting the Trophy in different shots and perspectives, but also keying out Dom's waving card over it. Amazing job:D
I can see Brooke being the human version of Tigger. 😂
Searched the comments for this. I think Sully might be in the doghouse for a bit lol
