I am so with you on this. I cry every time! I cannot figure out why, when Dave was on Colbert's show a few weeks ago, near Christmas season, neither of them mentioned Darleen! I'd love for Colbert to resurrect this tradition, or for Letterman to do a Christmas special very year. Wishful thinking.

Darlene Love is the ultimate. And this song does bring me to tears also. This has to be the ultimate rock and roll Christmas song. Her voice just touches something deep in my psyche. But this song also has special meaning to me: Last year I was out of work and Christmas was very dismal. I found new employment after the start of 2015, but my wife saw no hope in hanging on. She divorced me in April 2015. I listened to this song quite extensively all through Christmas last year, and it does bring back painful memories to listen to it again this year, but I love this song and it will be a Christmas staple for life.
Love this song because it reminds me of my mum because she died on Christmas Eve and I miss her so damn much and I have never celebrated it since she died. Mum I still love you and miss you.

Then moving on & now she's 80! Wow! But, "Christmas Baby Please Come Home" is absolutely fantastic that she sang. Just unbelievable & absolutely awesome. That's why I've been a fan of hers since the 60"s. What a fantastic feeling of listening her. So wonderful. Love her!
