After 7-8 years I still stumble on your videos and it’s a bittersweet feeling. Sad that you’re gone but happy that no matter what your still helping us learn knew things and spreading love knowledge and joy. We miss you 😢 ❤
I made this as a practice project before I crochet my first sweater (I’m super new to the crochet world, but I’m a knitter) and I LOVE how it turned out! It’s so much easier than I thought it would be and I love the result! I’m going to make more for all our devices :)
This is such a great idea I needed something to put my tablet in when I take it out when I visit my daughter and I am going to make one for her and my granddaughter. Thank you so much and I think you look so happy and healthy please know i pray that you will stay healthy . Hugs Maria
I am currently working on this project as a beginner crocheter. I am having a decent go at this! Not doing the lining part just due to lack of fabric, but this pattern is pretty easy and not giving me too much trouble! Thanks!
So glad this video exists! I've been looking for a soft cover for my Kindle to protect the screen during those times when I just shove it in my bag. I lost a previous Kindle Keyboard 3 to this fate! All of the other DIY case ideas were too complicated or expensive, but I already had the materials to make it! I've been stuck in bed or on the couch a lot lately, and I'm so excited to have something to keep my hands busy and my mind calm 😌 😊 Thank you for posting this! What you do matters ❤
I miss the videos from this beautiful lady. I searched for a kindle cover and had other choices but wanted to have Melanie teaching me even though she is no longer physically with us🥰
Wonderful tutorial Melanie! I really appreciate how you showed us how to line it with fabric and the button and strap! Really awesome! I love the yarn you used as well as the color. I don’t have a kindle but I do have my iPad and this would be perfect! Thanks for sharing!
Hi Melanie - I love this cover. It looks easy to make and the stitch is so pretty. Will be making this one. The lining and button just takes it to the next level of awesome! Thank you for teaching us how to do this. Hugs! 🤗☀️🧶 PS - You look beautiful. Love your hair and make up. Hope you are feeling a lot better. 🧡🧶😊
Love your tutorials Melanie! Your such a great teacher, easy to follow and understand. I was wondering if you could do a crochet produce bag. In Canada many of the grocery stores are getting rid of the plastic grocery bags so I’m looking for a good and easy smaller produce bag for apples and such. Hoping you can help, thank you - Robin.
Instead of two panels, can you make one panel, twice as long, and fold it over? I really like this pattern, and I think my iPad will have a new cover by this time tomorrow. Thanks.
Yes you can and that would be a great way of doing it ;) I wanted my stitch to be in the same direction on both sides, so I opted for this way but you certainly don't have to!
Love ur channel....I made my first crochet beanie hat from ur awesome video. Had absolutely enjoyed it! My husband loves it...was for him. But, sorry this one is tuff...I have made about a quarter of it already...had taken 50 stitches for my iPad and it’s cover. But this one is confusing at the part when u finish a row...which actual stitch to start with....we do the 2 chains to start the new row and it gets confusing then which stitch to start from.....thank you so much! I’m a new subscriber and intend to make baby booties fro ur videos...coz I like ur voice...fun and interesting vids.
Maybe it's easier when you consider the stitches as pairs, of which we only work the second one (twice). So, in every row, you skip the first stitch, and since you have an even number of stitches, you will always end up working the last stitch. I got confused in the beginning because I made mistakes and ended up with an unworked stitch as the last stitch. This just means you did something wrong and have to go back to correct it, or you'll end up increasing/decreasing. So after you've made your chain 2 you skip the first stitch and work the second (or, the fourth, seen from the hook). When you stick to the routine (counting helps) it's easy.
Thank you so much for sharing this tutorial. I love it! I also have a Kindle Paperwhite and I have a hard cover on it but this is that extra bit of protection. Am I correct in thinking that the same stitch and technique can be used to make a cover for my smartphone as well?
Thank you so much for this tutorial. I was wondering if you have or will do a tutorial for the planner called the Happy Planner? I am not sure if you are familiar with this, just wondering.
Does the chain 2 at the end of each row count as 2 sc? Meaning, when I get to the end of a row, should I do my final 2 sc in the ch 2? I hope this makes sense! Thank you!
Still coming to this channel for tutorials! God bless Melanie! She helped all of us! ❤

You can use anything for fabric. I used a pillowcase.
