I was searching literally for years for a player that could organise my movie catalogue on an old android tv tv box from a local hdd drive and not from a server link! I tried everything! Emby, plex, jellyfin, even kodi which surprisingly recognises the internal storage as external and doesn’t let me add movies from the hdd even though it finds it! Also, the interface of kodi is chaotic and needs many steps to personalise. I was amazed by Nova! It found everything alone and categorised it automatically, beautifully in a clean interface. Thank you so much!!! ❤
I have An external HD with a lot of MP4 en MKV files. I already renamed the folder to 'movies' but the nova app sees the folder but says that it is empty. Only stuff from the internal drive from the shield itself is recognized . Could you please help me so he can see my stuff please ?
@@Whittret mmm i don't know why. Maybe it is because of the hdd format (exfat or ntfs)? Have you tried with a usb or an sd card to see if it reads it?

I apoligize if this is dumb question but I am using the firestick 4K MAX on my TV with the Nova Video Player app and I am able stream pictures, video, from my PC. Question, if I hook up a USB device to my TV's USB jack, will the Nova video player pick up the files from the external USB drive? Thanks for your help.
I have a problem with crashes, running mkv 1080p. Sometimes it runs fluid, but most of the time it stalls and loads. I've already enabled the smb v2 network options, but it doesn't help. I have a good mesh network, where I have already tested the speed and it gave more than 100mb between the Chromecast and the computer. I don't know what else to do to see my computer files via the network via Chromecast.
Great video! I have one query, the sound is distorted (jerky is also how I would describe it) when I play my video files. Can anyone offer an explanation and how to solve this? Otherwise, the video playback is great.
How can we get collections to work? Mine is just empty, scraping collections from the settings does nothing and I even have all the move set info on my HDD from tiny media manager app on pc. Still nothing shows up in collections.

I have it on phone but when I create a playlist it says that I don't have a poster or a description for my movies!
Love you show SuperDell. My question is if you turn off the device that you have the Nova on and you turn it back on . Do you have to index everything again every time you turn it on and off.
Hi Eric, You will not lose your content if you turn the device off or lose power to it. This is a great app
Ho, it recognize my 4 4 tb hdd and 1 5tb but not showing any mobies. Its shows empty folder. Any help?
How do I open subtitles credentials for a movie I want to watch
I downloaded this app to my Nvidea shield pro and my shield is connected to 4 hdd. I am plaing my videos through plex, but i like to use Nova and its interface. I downloaded it, but no movies shows up in my app😢. Can u pls help?

Great vid. Its not auto importing my movies. I have to go to USB and click on each movie individually and then it adds the metadata one by one. I went into preferences and scanned all files and still nothing. Is there a paid version that does scans automatically? Any thoughts?
It should do it. There is a setting to scan automatically. make sure it's selected.
Can you organize your movies on the player? like all the Marvel movies in order.

How to add custom thumbnails/posters?
I have a shield tv pro. when I attach my hhd, nova sees the drive and the folders but none of the files. so there is no way of playing anything. Works fine on my mobile. any idea ?
You should put your movies in the "Movies" folder on the hdd.

@@erhanbesli that did not work. I did rename my folder to Movies on my external hard drive that is connected to my shield tv pro, but everthing stays the same : empty folder, although it has a lot of MP4 and MKV files. Already removed the app completely again and reinstalled it. But nothing changes
@@Whittret Don't rename your folder. Nova needs to create automatically "Movies" folder in hdd.
