Amazing song. Packed with solid theological truths. It hits the core of the the work of Christ in our salvation. The just for the unjust. The sinless for the sinner. He saved His people from their sins.
It's an amazing song. It clearly revealed the work of Christ for sinners. A clear message of the gospel of Christ. God's love for us displayed in the work of Christ. His wounds has paid my ransom.
There are some beautiful renditions of this song of praise; this one is among the best of the best of the best. Brings me to choking tears every time I hear it -- I know what I was delivered from, how grateful I am, and Who paid the price for me. As a man, this song sang by a man's voice, about and to a Man and His willful obedience unto death for me has an incredibly deep meaning. Sometimes, it's overwhelming to take it all in, but yet I do, He gives me life like I've never known.
Hallelujah to the LAMB of GOD! Hossanah in the highest! Thank you LORD Jesus Christ for saving, Redeeming and setting me free. In Jesus Christ mighty name.
I will not boast in anything, but i will boast in Jesus Christ...Just stumbled on this song yesterday,am so very grateful for what Jesus did for me on Calvary, very selfless, it could only have been him...oh sweet Jesus.
It really is amazing God is so great that just a single paper cut would of been enough to forgive the worlds sin yet he shed his blood for us in one of the most painful punishments of all time; his love truly went above and beyond what is even considered conceivable.
@@theelfhimself6879 Jesus practically emptied himself on the cross of Calvary. I am forever grateful for the gift of redemption that i have in Jesus Christ . The song comes very refreshing , pushing me to my more...
I often think the same thing, Les. I look at my sin, my repeated failures, my broken promises to not sin again, my flaws, the thoughts that occupy my heart, wounds I do not let go of, and on and on - and wonder how could He love a wretched man like me? I simply have to remind myself of that the Death and Resurrection of Christ and the love and mercy of God transcend my sins. My sins tower like Mt. Everest, but Everest could be placed into the deepest part of the ocean and it would disappear; God's love and grace is that ocean. I think of the crowds on Good Friday that mocked Him or that chose Barabbas over Him, and cringe to think that I may well have been counted among the scoffers. The lyric you quote is one that strikes me most in this hymn.
"Behold the man upon a cross My sin upon His shoulders Ashamed, I hear my mocking voice Call out among the scoffers It was my sin that held Him there Until it was accomplished His dying breath has brought me life I know that it is finished. I will not boast in any thing, No gifts, no power, no wisdom; But I will boast in Jesus Christ, His death and resurrection Why should I gain from His reward? I cannot give an answer But this I know with all my heart, His death has paid my ransomed. " Hallelujah Hallelujah Hallelujah to the LAMB of GOD! Hossanah in the highest. Worthy is the LAMB of GOD Worthy is the LAMB of GOD Worthy is the LAMB of GOD Thank you LORD Jesus Christ for Saving, Redeeming, Delivering, healing, blessing, prospering, releasing and breaking me through every challenges, worries, burdens, limitations, setbacks, failures, bond ages, stagnation, sorrows and every impossibility on the Cross of Calvary and resurrection to justify me and my assertion in mighty name of the LORD Jesus Christ! Be blessed Brethrens and Sisters in the mighty name of the LORD Jesus Christ.
For me this is one of the greatest modern hymns. "Why should I gain from His reward? I cannot give an answer." Many more recent hymns have lost that focus, that our salvation is undeserved, not to say that there aren't good things within them, but many popular modern hymns do not capture this important perspective.
Praise God that He still makes it plain to us that He loved us in spite of our non- deserving ways. Glory be to God. -sola fide -sola gracia -sola scriptural - solo deo Gloria.
We’re singing this for our Easter concert this year... that is... if we even have it because if the Coronavirus. Please, keep the world in your prayers ❤️
HOW DEEP THE FATHER'S LOVE FOR US WAS SANG AT THE STATE YOUTH GAMES TWO YEARS AGO...... BARRY TURNER SAID TO WITH A TAP ON MY SHOULDER "HERE IS YOUR FAVOPURITE SONG JASON". I WAS MOVED AFTER HEARING THIS SONG I ALMOST CRIED. WHILE I WAS IN MY BEDROOM I HEARD HOW DEEP THE FATHER'S LOVE FOR US ON PREMIER CHRISTIAN RADIO I WAS SINGUNG IT AND ONE OF THE STAFF WHO IS A CHAPLIN FOR ST JOHN OF GOD MAX HEARD ME SINGING HOW DEEP THE FATHER'S LOVE FOR US MAX SAID "HEARING YOU BROTHER". THE HE SANG PART OF IT AS WELL.
We sang this in church a few years ago, and while it was playing I noticed a typo. it read, "ashamed I hear my barking voice." everyone sang it quite solemnly while I found it very difficult not to laugh.
I noticed it too here in a church service in Zambia. I corrected my brothers whom I could talk to and show them the Townsend lyrics. Certainly mocking and barking are two different things altogether.
Why? Because it is the Father's good pleasure to bestow the promises on those of us who simply believe. We can cast all our cares on Him! We can ask Him for anything we want! And, provided we do believe it, we have the things for which we ask. Simple. Or is it THAT simple? The trouble, it seems, is that we simply DON'T believe it. Instead we get all 'religious' and kind of 'pious' in our attitude towards God. All timid and filled with guilt and shame. Start looking at ourselves and how to 'clean up our act', instead of looking at and rejoicing in the glory of the Lord. Crazy. How can anyone ask God for anything when they don't even believe they are forgiven?lol Jesus said, "The one who believes..." So what do we believe? That we're grubby little sinners who don't deserve anything but hellfire? That it's necessary to grovel before the Lord in timidity and fear? Hardly!lol It's a joyous thing, knowing the Lord! Folks, it's like having your very own Super Hero on call! "The one who believes on Me, has eternal life." John 6:47 "The one who abides in Me, shall ask what ever he wishes and it shall be done for Him." John 15:7 "... come BOLDLY before the throne of God." Heb 4:16 (emphasis mine) That's something worth rejoicing over! Or at least I think it is. The secret is to just be real with God. Real, with added enthusiasm. Just believe. Come, Lord Jesus.
Thanks for taking a true bibical stand against videos that make images of Christ. Amen! This is the second time I heard your daughters sing. They both have beautiful voices. Keep up the good job you are doing with haco
The righteous can die spiritually by turning to evil (Ezek.33:18; Rom.8:13).Jesus Himself told His disciples that they would have to "stand firm to the end to be saved" on more than 1 occasion (Matt.10:22; 24:13) & to "REMAIN" in Him or be thrown into the fire (Jn.15:4-6)! If you've been born again and yet "sin everyday", you are not cleansed (1Jn.1:5-7) & you don't love Him (Jn.14:15). You MUST "go and sin no more" (Jn.5:14,8:11)! ONLY if you TURN FROM SIN will He have mercy on you (Is.55:6-7).
If there is no hell, then God is not punishing any sin. If God does not punish sin, he is not good. If a judge on earth let a known criminal go for an obvious offense, you would not consider them to be good or just. In the same way, God must judge all sins that are not covered with the blood of Jesus. Hell is real. If hell ain't real, then I could be a mass murderer and go to heaven. That is not just nor is it good. If you argue for no hell, you might as well argue for a God that is not good.
It was finished 2000 years back. That's for the hope unerrasable. For my abundance. That abundance sucked is by the sinkenend scoundrels. It's not for shits mockery or forgetting or forgiving. It is for the Rightious anger of God. That's why second coming and JUDGEMENT are carefully given by God in the Bible to the least; unerradicated, hidden, carpeted sin are not to be hurting the victims but the ones who inflicted such. That's not errasable. It's made connections the person is not connected to In the brain. Mock, your life is for Rightious anger of God whom you trampled- His creation, the human you took for granted. It's too harsh. Only the judgement can reveal the black and white, Because the criminals don't know they commited crimes. They think they did good. But the crimes cannot go that away, it was destroyed. So it will be. So it has to be to avoid consequences. Every thing has a consequence, it's here or judgement and HELL. Now it's diffused to blot horrors to everyone who believes on self. Not the id the ego and superego driven ....mopped SHIT.
Amazing song. Packed with solid theological truths. It hits the core of the the work of Christ in our salvation. The just for the unjust. The sinless for the sinner. He saved His people from their sins.

I love the song, but is the picture not a violation of the 2nd commandment?
