I wish the toy companies would watch your channel and learn a thing or two. Now that these big companies are either incompetent or apathetic about their own products and now that we have 3D printing and crowdfunding, creators like you are the future of toy design.
Thank you. I try to stay positive but with the failed Cobra Mothership project I’m starting to give up on waiting for the things I want at the quality I expect.
Dude…. I LOVE THIS PROJECT! As a kid, this is something I absolutely would have been obsessed with. I really dig the attention you’re giving the interior space…. Going with the bunks and mess hall combo area is such a great alternative to the all to common “weapons storage” space. What your creating lends itself SO MUCH more to actual play scenarios where you could imagine an honest to goodness team on an extended away mission of exploitation or combat that actually have to live out of their transport. Happy to see the addition of the crane arm on the back of the vehicle, if that’s going to be final…. Typically we’d just get an overkill of multiple armaments, the crane lends itself to the exploration angle of the vehicle. I can hardly wait to see how this all comes together in the end. The only thing I’d throw out there as an observation…. it would be cool as hell to add an extra set of wheels to the back end, under the garage…. Make it a true 6 wheeled transport….i just think visually it would compliment the added length and add support to the rear end, and just plain look sweet. Great work all around…. And I love the interior design work you’ve come up with for it so far too.
Thanks so much. I am really focused on playability and function. I want figures to be placed in a way that makes them look like they're doing things. I have looked at making this 6x6. Right now I can't find just the right chassis and I don't want to get sidetracked reworking the RC part of it. My thinking is, finish the body and rest of it, play with it, and then think about replacing the chassis or bolting on another set of wheels and hook them up to the drivetrain...which I don't think would be too hard. I agree that'd make it feel more feasible. Thanks so much for the kind words and for watching.
This is shaping up incredibly. I like all of your aesthetic choices so far, particularly that turret. There are a lot of people doing great stuff right now but none of them match your work when it comes to play feature value!
Wry nice! One thing that would be really neat would be some sort of shields/hatches that you could close to protect the windows on the cockpit, like they used to have in Navy ships. Awesome work 👍🏻
Again, this is EXCEPTIONAL man! Love this! I have yet to see anything that is as inspired by the GI Joe ADVENTURE TEAM as this! Very awesome. Love the Bear reviews BTW…
Wonderful. One suggestion would be to have dual rear wheels, for proportion sake. The wheel base looks a bit too narrow axel-wise, in my opinion, compared to the body. Also, I imagine you'd need more wheels, especially in the back, to handle the load. Other idea: add a utility trailer, so the crane has a place to lift and lower loads into ( like: modular breastwork and gear, to set up a temporary outpost ). Another idea would be a telescopic crow's nest - a la Yavin 4 - to serve as an observation platform when the truck is parked. Drone landing pads would be cool too. Finally, a rear-mounted spare tire, together with tire-traction recovery tracks, would lend it a dash of 'expedition' flair, imo. Note: You might like Playmobil's Commander Truck, from the Top Agents theme (set 5286).
Thank you! I have a 6x6 in my cart waiting to be ordered but I'm trying to hold off and keep working with this one. This project started around the chassis and so it's grown out of that. I think replacing or upgrading the entire chassis will be a phase II thing...or if it just can't move any more. The telescopic lookout tower is a great idea. Just have someone up there with the binoculars. I already have mounts in the back...don't think I've shared that yet. But I think you'll like it. Gives the crane more to do. But would be cool to have a spare tire as well, someplace. That playmobil vehicle is really slick! I don't think we got that in the united states or maybe it's old. I love and hate playmobil because it's so so good but just a bit too small for 1:18! Frustating. Hey, thanks for the great ideas and for watching video!
The folding vehicle ramp should include the floor as a whole-angled ramp. You can add hydraulic pistons for detail elements. This means you will have move it aft to avoid the rear wheels and extra magnets to catch where it meets the current deck where you have it now hinged.
Looking great so far. I love the use of magnets. Just think how many old toys would still be functional today if they used magnet latches instead of rigid plastic tabs.

You know, if you keep the rooms modular and removable, you could have a few that can be swapped out. You could even make small platforms for the rooms not being used currently and have little outposts to drive between.
I like how this works w both vintage o-ring figs and the more modern style figures too. I really love the aesthetic you are working with too. Think you might release/sell the final .stl's?
Are you sticking with four wheels, or will you be adding a third pair in back to help support the recon vehicle storage in back? Front seating looks like what the MCC *should* have had, not the three sleeping pods we got. 🙄
I was looking at the way the vehicle ramp unfolds and if you do the unfold the other way as in the outside panel folds up then it should be able to lock up without magnets then you don't have to worry about the ramp collapsing in the middle. Like it opens out like the letter A.
That was my original idea but I ran into issues. For one, as the outside panel folds up, it becomes the driving surface. That didn't seem right as I might put tape or some rougher surface on the ramp to help with traction. Also the geometry of the outer shape results in that outer surface not being flat and I wanted the ramp to integrate into the side of the cabin. But if you have a specific solution I'd be all ears. Thanks for watching.
Yes, I’d just need to get a new chassis. I’ve had a larger 6x6 chassis in my shopping cart for months 😁 And I’ve designed this to be modular so I can do more sections. But I do think working in these constraints is fun and it’s already pretty heavy.

Totally awesome I'd love to know how much you sell them for@@ActionRobotPunch
I wish companies would bring back play sets. This is truly amazing great work and video.
Thanks so much.
I always look forward to your videos and seeing what you created. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you so much! I’m glad you enjoy the videos 😁
The seats with the attached monitors look great. Amazing work.
Thanks! I really appreciate it.

Oooh I like that. Not sure how I’d do it. Maybe more magnets? Thanks.
Absolutely amazing! It is looking more and more like an official set.
Wow, thanks!
Double barrel turret cannon, that is a neat idea 👍
Glad to hear you dig it 😁

Very cool, it's shaping up nicely, and looks fun to play with!
Thanks Beach. It is fun to race around the house 😁
Fantastic update! love the cockpit chairs!

i can see ground daion! god that figure is GORGEOUS!
Yeah an amazing toy. I can’t wait to get the second half when it comes out.

Thank you. I’m excited to see it finished as well.
A really cool update when you get this done this project will be epic

Way cool work
Thank you so much.
wouldnt be surprised if that gun was less for combat, more for...dealing with some troublesome terrain, because blowing up a blockage is pretty smart!
Yeah good thinking. I know ski patrols use artillery to deal with avalanche conditions. Thanks for watching. 👍
Slick!
Thanks!
Nice 👍

For now I’m sticking with 4x4 since I had the chassis. Thanks for watching.

would it be possible to increase the frame size? could you extend it back some to give you more stability and room to build on?
Yes, I’d just need to get a new chassis. I’ve had a larger 6x6 chassis in my shopping cart for months 😁 And I’ve designed this to be modular so I can do more sections. But I do think working in these constraints is fun and it’s already pretty heavy.
@@ActionRobotPunch thats cool. i was just wondering as far as if I was to create my own.
wow
Thanks!
I have an Idea for the turret and it was to add kinda something that can shoot out of it like missiles but have it like remote controlled?
That’d be fun. Maybe an upgrade at some point.
Love the ground clearance. But it looks so top heavy. (like it would tip over) Sorry, ground pressure is a thing to retired tankers.
It is top heavy but still works. When it’s all done I hope I don’t need a new chassis 😁
Hey Action??? What software are you using to make your 3d model?
I mostly use shapr3d. Sometimes zbrush and 3dsmax. Thanks for watching.
😎👍
Thank you.
The small vehicle compartment is way to high l would have lowered it behind the rear wheels of the truck.
I think this is the best solution. I tried different configurations but they didn’t work well. Thanks for watching.

Sorry but you can’t buy this. It’s a one of a kind creation. Thanks for watching 😁
