    Great build! Your design is spot on. The interior looks amazing. I love the front cab area. It looks like a cross between the Mobile Command base and the drop ship from Aliens. Well done.

    This is coming along nicely! It's right on the line between realistic and toyetic. Your design does a really good job of implying that every surface and object was put there to serve a purpose. You've got great instincts - the "gun bin" near one of the doors is just perfect.
    In terms of realism and play features, you might want to add more clutter and some accessory storage to the cockpit area. More places to leave accessories are always better, and this vehicle is going to need a lot of sensory readouts to be driveable. Multiple small camera monitors around the cockpit to help maintain situational awareness for the drivers would be great. Even if they're gonna pull the feed from whichever camera they need, being able to see even a small image from all the others will be useful.

      Thanks so much. I can’t wait to get to that point. Once I start gluing the furniture in I plan to add lots of wires and pipes plus lights. I’m also trying to make it so things can evolve over time. Thanks for the great ideas and for watching 👍

      @@ActionRobotPunch Extra points if there's panel lines added to the outside of the vehicle to represent external access. Actually, when you're doing greeblies, make sure to put fill and emptying ports for any fluids the mobile base may carry in quantity. Water, obviously, but also fuel - even if the craft itself uses something non-ICE for power, the scout vehicles probably use liquid fuel.

    ...Pulling out the bondo, industrial design prototyping-style! The interior furnishings look great; you're going all the way with your 3D modeling! One minor suggestion would be maybe to add a panoramic window above the sitting bench, within the semicircular nook -- bulletproof glass, of course! -- to allow more light in. That's a problem with a lot of doll houses: as rooms get deeper and more crowded, ambient light is quickly starved out. Unless you have plans for interior LED lighting?

    • @ActionRobotPunch
      @ActionRobotPunch  2 месяца назад +1

      Thank you. The plan is all LEDs. I'd put more windows and skylights if this was a civilian vehicle but I want to keep it militaristic. I kind of broke that rule with the cockpit but I really wanted to see the crew in their seats driving it. BUT it'd be easy enough to design and print a variant of the current roof without the turret rings and instead have a windowed dome or skylight. Thanks for watching!

    In the digital design process you should account for the depth of the print lines and add that measurement to your overall dimensions so that way when you sand the lines down on the model it will be sanded down to the appropriate size.

    • @ActionRobotPunch
      @ActionRobotPunch  2 месяца назад

      Wow, you do that? And it works out for you? Thats way more precision than I’m working with. For me, the print lines are a visual issue, not a problem with alignment or structure. And since it’s all designed together in 3d, any print line deviation will be the same in all the parts. But when I need precision I’ll just go to the resin printer I.e. for the furniture. Thanks for sharing your process and for watching.

    how hard would it be to widen or lengthen the wheelbase, without just buying a new rc chassis, and would it be worth it if you wanted to beef it up? love the new pieces. the body needs more greebles on it. same with the cockpit. but i'm sure you have plans for that already. then hang that motorcycle off the side of the body. might even add the ability to put a trailer on the back. that would give you more room to grow, as well as more things to practice building on.

    • @ActionRobotPunch
      @ActionRobotPunch  2 месяца назад

      Easy to change out the chassis. I designed it to be removed with a few hex screws. I do have some plans that I'm going to try in an upcoming video. We will see if my plan works. Greebles are coming, but I haven't gotten to the exterior yet. I'll get another pass of primer/putty and then start adding the crane, grab rails, racks, vents, lights, etc. Thanks for watching.

    Very cool. I am curious on how much you have spend on this project not counting the actual printers and equipment and your time. Just in materials and other toys that have been repurposed accounting for every iteration. I realize this is a one off and the fun is in the bui;d but total costs including consumables for printing... $400? more? How much do you forsee it being once you are done. Thank you
    Also someone really needs to do 3d print files of the USS flagg bridge and canons etx. The flagg itself is not much more than a table and I think a loy of GIJoe fans would be happy with a grey painted piece of wood cut to size and dimensions, painted grey, with stickers a base to raise it and 3d printed bridge and other parts. The USS F.R.U.G,.A.L.L. could be a big hit with collectors

    • @ActionRobotPunch
      @ActionRobotPunch  2 месяца назад

      How much have I spent? Good question. I'll do a simple breakdown - RC chassis $70, RC upgrade parts $60, Filament $50, Resin $50, paint/bondo $15. That's rough so about $200-250 maybe? Maybe I'll break it down in more detail in the future. I also used up some screws and glue that I have lots of already. And I didn't count the vamp, mech, or figures, but I already had those. To get it done I'll use maybe another bottle of resin $25 and more paint, but I don't think I need to buy more. I did get some model chipping paint for $15. This is such a long project it seems cheap since I'm not buying new stuff but instead working on this :) Thanks for watching.
