I appreciate the info about the wax pencils. I was going to buy some to try out, but Im glad I didnt! There is also a nail pen w/a wax tip on it that I will try out.The wax tip is replaceable as well.Im new to this craft & am happy for your willingness to share.Thx for the informative video😄
the roller you got is called a braier . its used for burnishing and stamping , used for paper crafts ect. this is excellent for what your using it for. I have one too.
When I ordered it, it showed a bunch of other items meant for clay stuff. No idea the original intent, but I love it for my paintings :) Thanks for the information!
Thank you very much. I thought you were saying washi, but wasn't sure, I ordered roller and the pick me up pen, I got my 1st dp, and finished 2 days ago. The day after I got. I ordered a few more but takes so loonngg, thanks to this video and going to sites u listed I also found paintings, I paid extra and will be here June 3rd. Ty again. I was having with drawls today. So now only have to wait a couple of days. I'm hooked.
I am so happy I could help you out! It is nice to know that I'm not just having fun making these videos; that they can help people as well. I think all those obsessed with this craft like I am need to always have at least one on the way lol!
Thanks to you, I now get why you would save the leftover drills! I’m new to this hobby and just completed my first painting, and it was from Diamond Dotz. When you said that they didn’t follow the DMC numbers, the lightbulb finally went on in my brain. 😉 You are so great with your explanations and thorough, too! I have no idea what I’m going to do with my completed projects but I’m hooked. A new project arrived two days ago and there’s another on the way from Etsy! Now to get organized before tearing into another one. 😊
I have sooo much organizing to do, but I can't seem to find time to do that AND to paint, and do videos. I have to get organized just to get organized LOL. I'm so glad the videos are helping you out :)
Diamond Painting by Doni I also found a double ended pastry roller from Pampered Chef that I can use. I know it’s been in my cabinet for over 20 years. Something I had to have at a party and NEVER used! Lol Here’s to repurposing! 😉
This is a perfect video for me at this time. Great job!, but it seems everything you do is outstanding. I am a little like you trying for perfection. At least you have very high standards for your business. I am kind of obsessed with you right now, lol......learning so much
a great hint if pieces stick together jus lay some in a matching tray if you have 2 lay the drills all out put one ontop of the other and just use your hand and press down you'll hear all your drills snap apart it works
I had one painting that had one particular color drill that I had an awful time with. I tried the two tray method but it did not work. Was so glad when I didn’t have to use that color anymore.
I hated the "pick me up" so I just sat here and poked and prodded until I got all the putty out and filled it with the pink glue. It's so much better now, at least to me.
Where did you get your roller if you dont mibd saying. Loving your podcasts. You are very helpful with all you have learned in doing them. I appreciate it very much
Diamond Painting by Doni Hi. I had a brain fart. I have them more often because Im a young but old 62. Young at heart.lol thank you I will be looking that up.
I actually have it as a backup because sometimes I forget to bring my pens with me when I switch locations. I have been using it the last few times I was in the livingroom.
@@DPbyDoni Good to know! I just ordered my first cool pen, of course from your shop. I cant wait to try it out. I always wonder what people are still using after watching an older video. I'd love to see an updated version of your "tools of the trade" video.
I have a video in my tips and tricks playlist showing what I use to seal it. My oh my, I can't believe I missed your comment. I just noticed you left this one 5 months ago! I'm so sorry!
You gave me the idea to try my Pick Up Pen... but I found it would not pick the diamonds up in the middle, they would come up on an edge... guess I will need to practice because the red wax just does not last long in the tip... unless I am doing that wrong too, lol!! Thanks for the great tips... I am new to this, love it but do not want to spend a fortune finding the best tools! That roller is just like one I have from Pampered Chef for making Pizza Dough... been in my kitchen drawer for years, never used much, no I can revive it! THANK YOU! :-)
Thanks for the review of what you used for tools. I'm going to skip the wax pencils thanks to you. One note concerning double sided tape - consider using archival double sided tape. As you know, regular tape dries out and becomes yellow and then your artwork falls off. Plus the tape has a tendency to cause some damage to your artwork, so consider using an archival double side tape to protect your artwork.
If you have to put washi tape on the side that have your symbols and numbers use scotch tape. You can get refillable scotch tape at staples. I generally use a lot of scotch tape for many things, therefore buying packages of ten or more refills saves me time and money. Just a suggestion.
I appreciate all input! How well does the scotch tape come off of the sticky part afterwards? I would just be concerned about it lifting the layer holding the resins on the painting.
Harbor Freight 25 storage kit, or dollar tree 10 for $1 sterilizer containers and walmarts have these document boxes that house perfectly 36 of the dollar tree square ones and the storage document boxes are by super stackers and they do just that they stack perfectly.. now im using my Elizabeth Wards
Unfortunately, my Dollar Tree does not have those. I look thoroughly every time I go in. Thanks for the tip though! I know a lot of people do use them.
I use duck tape for framing. I will do a framing video one day, I promise! I only have about 4 right now that are ready to frame, but I am waiting to finish the one I am currently working on to do a video for it. If you click the bell to get notified of new videos, you can keep an eye out for that one :)
i spoke to one of the owners of Diamond dots and they actually said they are thnking of putting a D infront of the DMC number because what i dont understand just because they reuse the same colors so many times i said to her why dont you at least assign the same letter and number each kit so if we have left overs its just good to have to assign them
I have the link for the roller up above in the description of the video. You may have to click the "Show More" button to see all the links I have on there. :)
Great video. The duct type is a great way to frame isn't it, also the washi tape is a God send for the edges :D As with the containers I've been doing it that way since I started last November. I'm glad my video could help you and if you haven't watched it them great minds think alike :D ♡♡
Yes, I totally give you all the credit for the Washi tape and Duck tape that I have installed into my supplies and methods! I was looking for videos on how to frame and I ran across yours and one other person who did it a different way. After that, I got sucked in to RUclips and now it is an everyday thing for me haha.
Diamond Painting by Doni it love making videos. I still can't believe how much making videos has helped me with anxiety. Making videos is more than just a hobby to me same with Diamond painting. I swear this hobby has saved my life.
That is always awesome to hear when a fun craft is therapeutic as well as what making videos does for a person. I stepped way out of my comfort zone when I started my other channel back in 2011. I did a vlog on my weight loss surgery journey and the things I talk about in those are pretty personal. I aired it all out for the world to see lol. I still have a bit of anxiety on days that I don't show my face, but it's a work in progress :)

great idea with the jars to put all that pink wax in
Just ordered a Stabilo pen so hopefully I can modify as successfully as you, it looks great!

Well, you got a chuckle out of me. So hard to believe anyone would be obsessed with little ol me hehe. But thank you all the same 😊💖
Love some of the stuff you use.💕💕
a great hint if pieces stick together jus lay some in a matching tray if you have 2 lay the drills all out put one ontop of the other and just use your hand and press down you'll hear all your drills snap apart it works

What kind of glue do you put on the canves
I separate the drills with a larger little plastic rule and leave it in between for 10 second and they won't move afterwards
Since I made this video 5 years ago, can you remind me what it is you are referring to? 😂

Hi. I had a brain fart. I have them more often because Im a young but old 62. Young at heart.lol thank you I will be looking that up.
Hey doni, not sure if you'll see comments from a video this old, but do you still use the pick me up pen, or mostly the pretty ones from your shop?
I actually have it as a backup because sometimes I forget to bring my pens with me when I switch locations. I have been using it the last few times I was in the livingroom.

@@kathleenoclair3179 Awesome! Did you want me to show it in my live on Thursday before I ship it to you?
@@DPbyDoni Yes, that would be awesome! I put in the note on my order for you as well.
Hi! I love the idea of the wax jar. Do you melt the wax a bit before putting it in the jar?
Nope! I just press it into the jar and make sure to push it into all the curves 😊
Thx! I’m on the hunt for a wax jar.
Do I, can you tell me what type of glue you suggest to seal DP. Thanks for another great video😁🤗
I have a video in my tips and tricks playlist showing what I use to seal it. My oh my, I can't believe I missed your comment. I just noticed you left this one 5 months ago! I'm so sorry!
Hi, where can we find the pick me up pen please?, looks great

Kyle Higgins you are welcome! Keep practicing with the pick me up tool. It gets easier :)
Try the new and improved Pick-me-up Tool that I made :)

Do you have a video on how you do your framing?
As soon as I finish the little 30x30 that I am working on, I will be doing a framing video. So much to do, so little time to do it in! lol

do you leave the washy tape down if your going to frame them?
No, I take it off as soon as I am done with it, before I frame it.
