Shout out to Fat Mike for being unapologetic in his honest. And the biggest shout to Tony. I've lost way too many friends to accidental ODs, but even though this song makes me sad and miss them, it makes my wife and I make sure we do our best effort to keep our kids away from the bullshit we experimented with when we were young. RIP Tony & Mike, please take care of yourself.

Wonderful tribute to a friend
Tony and Mike were the greatest lyricists of the last 30 years. No argument for me. "Just The Flu" and "Under The Garden" was basically the same song with different lyrics and obviously different music. The message was the same.

im not a music professional, but is it possible she had more experience with singing for recording than live? is it very different? i heard it was.
it wasn't her it was fat mike he's actually a shit ass singer, records are the best of the best and even then he had an uncanny off tone sound.
but that's what punk rock is. emotion and reality through texture.
I think she's great in her other projects but that was pretty bad...I've seen her with nofx live about 3 times now and I hate to say it but she's not good live.

So Tony called Mike to say he was struggling...I know cause of death was never released other than 'peacefully in his sleep' but that info changes my view... I'm thinking suicide now instead of accidental OD on pain pills & booze? Fucking gutted. Maybe that was obvious to everyone but me? I never suspected suicide, or am I reading too much into it?
I read it was about an accidental mix of pain pills and alcohol but I read too that Tony was depressed about this pain too, so, we gonna never know.
