    Damn, dude. All the ups and down in these. And I can't help but belive the finals are always fixed in these, which is why they're so boring at the end. But the bloodshed in the beginning and middle matches are absolutely brutal and honest. The Shrek match was a favorite of mine at the end, but Kawamura should've won. Shrek basically submitted by lying on the ground. If Rocky was a scrappy karate fighter like those other guys, I can't help but think you could axe kick him into oblivion on the ground like that.

    It is interesting that the English announcers do not understand the rules. A ring out where you stay in is worth one point. A ring out where you fall out with your opponent is a half point to both fighters. Three ring-out points in a round is a victory. You'd think they would have provided this info to their commentators.

    1:25 Commentator justifying the 15 second ground rule before being stood up by the ref: "This is because there's very little ground position in real life combat".
    I understand this sport is meant to highlight the excitement of the stand-up martial arts. That's awesome in itself. But for a commentator to spew an ignorant and biased statement like that honestly makes me lose respect for the promotion, if indeed that is the promotion's standpoint.
    A vast majority of fights in real life combat will end up on the ground one way or another. Heck, even these Ganryujima fighters themselves end up on the ground despite trying to maintain a stand up fight!

    • @pedrokobuti
      @pedrokobuti 4 года назад +7

      Totally agree. From an entertainement point of view, it makes sense to stand them up; but as far as real life combat is concerned; my money is on BJJ every time.

    • @tjjavier
      @tjjavier 4 года назад +2

      @@pedrokobuti So true. But without even invoking BJJ, or any other art for that matter, fact of the matter is, majority of fights will end up in the ground. Staying there or getting up is a matter of choice.

    • @mikedlc9766
      @mikedlc9766 4 года назад +1

      what you wanna do in a street fight is end up on the floor because you never know if the guy you are fighting has his friends there , so what good is BJJ in a street fight when you are going for a arm bar and the other guys kicks your face in BJJ works one on one and in sport but not in a brawl , BJJ against a Filipino Escrima , BJJ guy goes for guillotine choke Escrima reaches for his knife and stabs the BJJ's guys belly , I love BJJ but it has flaws like anything else , so in real life combat BJJ will have problems remember early UFC was set up for BJJ and Gracie family to look good but when kick boxers learned the floor it was a short night for BJJ , Masvidal vs Diaz Masvidal kickboxer Diaz Bjj

    • @pedrokobuti
      @pedrokobuti 4 года назад +4

      @@mikedlc9766 If your assailant has a knife or friends; you are fucked. Doesn't matter if you train BJJ, Muay Thai, Wrestling, or anything else.
      You are using MMA data to infer what would happen in a street fight. The problem with that assumption is that the vast majority of people are not trained fighters at all.
      If you still doubt BJJ; just challenge any blue belt to a scrap. Let me know how it goes.

    • @S4ltyTar0
      @S4ltyTar0 4 года назад +1

      I'm honestly not sure if you're right, ground fighting doesn't come as naturally as striking does. Learning proper take-downs, proper defense against take-downs and most importantly how to maneuver yourself to take advantage and keep the advantage, and how to reverse the opponent's advantage while on the ground is one of the most difficult parts of learning MMA.
      To a trained fighter it might seem natural to go to the ground, but I'm not sure most untrained fighters want to be on the ground long before they stand up again, not to mention if you're not trained in ground combat, it is significantly more tiring than striking. Most untrained fighters would probably gas out pretty quick once a fight got to the ground. Maybe 15 seconds would be the mark, ahaha.

    Judging by the 1st and 2nd fight, these rules are completely stupid. Why make this a tournament between different fighting styles when pushing your opponent out of the ring is far more effective?
    What makes these rules even worse is the absence of any weight classes, which means the bigger fighter will always have the advantage just like in the 1st fight. In that fight the bigger man was name the winner in spite of him being bruised and bloodied at the end of it. The reason why he was so beat up is because all he did was lower his head and charge forward. He displayed such great skill and strategy that would even put the best UFC fighter to shame (sarcasm).
    Even the second fight between two striking style's (Karate and Muay-Thai) quickly devolved into them trying to throw each other out the ring.

    What kind of dogshit is this when you can get your ass beat but toss a person out a ring and win. Trust me this is more like WWF, UFC has nothing to worry about. Even the commentary is clueless

    'there is very little ground position in real life combat'.....k...watch street fight vids with skilled and unskilled fighters. Most of the time it goes to the ground.
    It's only that 'hood boxing' vids where people just stand up.
