D&D Ambience - Damp Cave

- Once again we find ourselves trudging through a cave. At least this one is slightly dryer than the last. What creatures would choose to make a place like this their home? Not I, that much is certain.

If Minecraft were to have cave ambience, it should be this instead of terrifying unknown sounds
Agreed
The silence you hear in Minecraft when in a cave is accurate to real life mostly. Not all caves have water in them, but what they do have is an echo. If you ever explore a cave, you should check out the walls. You might find something made by a human 30,000 years ago. Drawings painted or drawn with mineralized rock substance of different colors. Also comes from flowers and coal.
I LOVE MINECRAFT

as someone who hates caves and finds them absolutely terrifying, I am quaking in my boots. Great ambience 👍
The old video game Torchlight had an extensive cavern sequence that sound just like this. Nostalgia feels.
Everybody gangsta till Cave17 starts playing
I listen to this at least once, almost every night, and have done for months. I'd love to see how many times i've listened to it now
I have two bookshelf speakers on either side of my headboard in my bedroom so I can listen to this and many other ambient sounds while I'm lying in bed at night. Ah! pleasant dreams!
I am now soaked. Thanks!
I, too, am very fkin wet 😂🥵💦
This is strangely relaxing.
1 2 hour of neurologie and youll find it less strange xD
@@MassMultiplayer dont go alone to the cave never , someone is hiding in the cave , this is a monster in alyda 's name , who was playing in the unnamable 1 ,movie , the unnamable 2 movie ,

Oh that's damp!
I remember the first time I heard this. I thought, this is the best cave ambience on RUclips. This channel inspired me to start making my own ambience mixes for games and RUclips. Thank you Swordcoast Soundscapes. You will always be the ambience GOAT in my opinion.
This is perfectly awesome, epic and timeless. I definitely would not mind spending time in here. Enjoying this cave and all that.
Not gonna lie, I would love to have this cave as a home.
I can relax to this, knowing that it's not 'my' faucet that's leaking. 😁

I always read this as Camp Dave for some reason.
Is that a low budget summer camp that is just one tent next to an inflatable pool?

I'm writing a book about a Monster that lives in a large pond in Michigan. The two protagonists end up heading into a long abandoned plant to find answers. This video right here is perfect sound effects while writing this chapter. The Environment take place in an abandoned electrical plant so it's a bunch of metal and wires instead of a rocky cave, but since the entire plant has nearly been flooded by by river, it Makes perfect for that dark, eerie sensation. Thank you for uploading this!
answers to what particular questions? specifically, I mean. if this isnt too invasive of a line.
@@DAVID-sg7yw I don't understand your question lol. Care to elaborate?
@@Golgari213 "..two protagonists end up heading into a long abandoned plant to find answers.."
well if they're looking for answers, they must have questions--and they are? is mine. (btw, this story does intrigue. is it a novel, or short story, or, what?)
I love this, reminds me of when I would get to that one level of SpongeBob Employee of The Month game where you had to go through a cave in order to get to Merlin, or I think that's his name, the wizard in order to get his was to clear the weather up. So nostalgic! If you know what I'm talking about, you're a real one 😎
Im using this in Palemane Rock Cave not far from Thunder Bluff. Getting my classic fishing skill up for my Iron fishing pole. The classics awesome. Gossa the Forsaken hunter, 8/7/2023
I love finding these different ambience videos, they really help me get to sleep and this one is a particular favorite of mine.

Surprisingly not using this for a cave! I'm using it for a creepy sewer system, and the PCs can catch on that there's no rats.... Almost as if something is up ;)
Very nice, may I ask what awaits them? My party went to the sewers about a year ago, when they were lvl 2 or 3, and there were plenty of rats, some of them huge, led by an insane wererat. In the entire long campaign that I've now been running for almost two years, they were never closer to TPK than in those sewers. I might have overshot my rat swarm mechanic, where if you stand in a swarm, you get autohit for 1d4dmg each turn. Only the paladin was left standing, and she managed to wound the wererat so heavily (1 or 2HP left), that he fled, and took all his rat minions with him. Thank god for that, I do not wish death upon any of my party members =D
@@elendiel Very nice B) They were investigating a string of murders and sightings of someone who seemed to be made entirely of insects, which led them down into the sewers. They found that a huge hive of Kruthiks was under the city, and the Kruthiks queen was controlling the bug man! They made it through by the skin of their teeth too haha - their Myconid circle of spores druid pulled off a play of the game and used his high level spell scroll to end the fight after half of them went down haha
@@Mini_Mii98 Very nice! I like Kruthiks (had to google them :D )! I love those POTGs, I'll never forget how our halfling necromancer who is terrible at conventional combat finished off a pink horror of Tzeentch by a simple crossbow shot. If that had not happened, the daemon would have gotten away, and they would have been in some serious trouble. That non-magical crossbow bolt shot from about 40m away caused like 3 dmg, and possibly saved their lives =D
Also using this for sewers. My players are doing some extermination for the city as well as the local thieves guild.
There's gonna be rats, mutated rats, a Gel cube, gray ooze and an illegal imported Phase Spider all depending on where they go.
Oh, and two mummies for good measure in a hidden hallway.
@@Kasino80 Me until the end: "Sounds pretty standard and fun!". When you mention two casual mummies - "Well, time to roll up new characters!" :D May I ask what the story behind those two mummies is? Old royalty that was buried ages ago and the expanding sewer system accidentally uncovered their resting place?
Finally something I can play on my lair's Bluetooth surround system.
Invite me to the lair one day? 👀
omg! These sounds make me run to the lavatory every 10 minutes!
Thank you for these. They are invaluable.

its always a dank cave when there's a green dragonborn with a background in botany in the party

I don't play DnD but "the Drow" is an awesome name. Not sure why, it has such a ring to it, it gets the imagination going.

this sounds, helped me for dreaming, i dont know why :=0
Great for setting up a soundscape! Got bored with practicing scales, so I put this on with a quiet chord drone in the background. I washed out my guitar with reverb and really leaned into the atmosphere.
Then I nearly snapped a string at about 17:30? When someone cries out? from deeper in the cave?
I don't even play D&D anymore. I'm just making a mountain hollow in Minecraft and decided to take a break from my music with this.
Its either a cave or the shower room at a public pool, minus the towel slaps.
Your soundscapes are fantastic for my campaigns. Thank you so much for creating them. I would also like to know how you create these soundscapes? What software do you use and how do you record these...or do you just hang around in leaky caves a lot?
Oh yeah this is just a live stream of my bathroom.
But in seriousness, I use ProTools and a pretty excessive sound library (approaching 2TB now) to build it. I’ve done a video on here somewhere (a few years back) outlining the process. I may shoot a better one at some point.
Fantastic thank you! I will look out for the old video and keep an eye out for any new ones. Thanks again.
May I use this in a live radio drama?
Could you create a dark water temple mix please? Planning an evil water temple for my homebrew but all I keep finding is holy water temples. Creepy eerie voices, dripping water, subtle creaks and moving water, once in a while splashing :)
I cant be in neither the house in nor the cave in scary a dripping water sounds , it is a place too eerie , scary at the same time strange to discover the cave 's inside , dont go alone where certainly . ıf you will go aswell , go with a group 100 personality crowd
The cave is a place eerie , creepy sounds give more horror to the person , therefore it is dangerous to work discovering alone . I suggest nobody to go alone till this cave's into , and someone here is x who is waiting for kill torturing to someperson .
Sooo beautiful
Love it! helps me work for some reason!?

Your images are great. The only thing I would like to see is at least a small amount of animation in them
I hope it is fine if I used a tiny part of this lovely ambient cave sound for one of my soundtracks. I am going to credit you once I release it in about 1 month of time or so.

@@SwordCoastSoundscapes thank you so much !!!!
Fantastic.
Where do you get the art for these?
Where did you take the dripping sound effect which was in documentaries, films and cartoons from the 1990’s and 2000’s from?
It was mostly known for when it was on both Jungle Run and AAAHH! Real Monsters 👹 as incidentally, the pitch of the dripping sound effect on this was only used for seasons 1-3 as season 4 had the high pitch of it.
Minecraft cave ambience confirmed.
