  • Do you have a hard time "BEATING THE HEAT" with watering your lawn? We are in a high level of drought here in Utah, and how do I beat this heat and save watering by watering less, but still maintaining that awesome green? Hydretain is the real deal!! This is my 3rd year of using Hydretain. The first two years I used the liquid, this year I am using the granular, because I love trying new things and NEW ways to "skin the cat"!!

    I've used the granular hydratain in the past. Worked great I just think the liquid gives better coverage.

      Nathan, Sorry for the delayed response. I have been freaking swamped with work and the project lawn, etc. The granular seems to have done a pretty good job. I will state that one thing that I will not use again is their hose end sprayer quart. I used that the first year and it was gone in like 2000 sq ft. So if I use the liquid, which I do have it will be with a back pack sprayer or MAYBE the Ortho Dial and Spray but more than likely with the backpack sprayer.

    • @TheHighlanderLawn
      @TheHighlanderLawn  2 года назад

      If you are referring to the continuous concrete edging/curbing around my flowerbeds, it was laid by a local company in the area where I live. You should be able to find someone in your local area that can put this down for you, if you google it. Thank you for the comment. I hope to hear from you in the future.

    Good to see your measuring your products. A bit of advise, just add a few pounds more so that the product travels evenly through the spreader and when your done, if applied right you should have your extra left plus or minus.

      Hi Isaiah, I did purchase this off of Jeremy of the Greener Lawn and he stated that he purchased it from J&J Nursery's "Pro Shop". It is a 40# bag. I tried calling today to see if they were in stock, but was on hold for 20 mins and had to get back to work. J&J is located in south Layton at 1815 W Gentile (801) 544-1211. I hope that helps.

    You dont have to go to flordia for humidity in the summer any place on the plane states from Iowa and Nebraska down to the gulf coast durring June July and August with mo and ks down its so humid from the gulf you can cut the air with a chainsaw. Not just humid but also high heat our 90 dgr day fells like 104 outside id take your dry heat anyday.
    In the summer months my hvac system pulls 15 to 20 gallons of water out of the house every 6 to 8 hours, the condensate from the ac goes into a sewage ejected tank and out to the sewage system
    Its like flushing 5 old type toilets at one time its a big rush of clean water , its both good and bad cleans out my sewage pipes but water water I could water the grass with. Becuse with our water bills you dont water the grass it cost too much.

    • @TheHighlanderLawn
      @TheHighlanderLawn  2 года назад

      Wow that sounds like it would be a great source of water to apply to your lawn, garden, etc. Yes I agree the dry heat is much better than the higher humidity. I lived in Minnesota for a couple of years so I can fully agree that the plain states can get quite humid. Thank you for the comment. I hope to hear from you in the future.

    Would this be good for vegas?

    • @TheHighlanderLawn
      @TheHighlanderLawn  3 года назад +1

      Yes , it would be. It works well in just about any environment. Even though Vegas does have a lower humidity level, when you water you will still have water moisture vapor evaporating from the soil surface, so it will take that vapor and bring as much as it can back to the plant roots. Even if it could work to the point of only putting an additional 2 days in between waterings that would save a ton of water use for just one household. Then if you multiply that by the number of people in your area who might use it. The water usage would be dramatically decreased. Thank you for your comment. I hope to hear from you in the future.

    Hey man, this was great info and perfect considering I also live in Utah (right down the road from you) and also need cut down on watering. How did this do and would you recommend this for a brand new lawn?

    • @TheHighlanderLawn
      @TheHighlanderLawn  2 года назад

      James, sorry for the delayed response. But I have been working on this year's project lawn out in eastern Utah (3 hour drive) and we just put down the top dressing, seed, fert, etc. and we included the Hydretain as well as this will help retain the moisture in the soil as we work to get the newly seeded lawn to germinate on this renovation. I highly suggest Hydretain, it is what help my lawn make it through last years drought and I am going a little heavier this year to make sure that I can make it through the crazy summer we will most likely have. Thank you for the comment. I hope to hear from you in the future.

      Matt LOL well I guess which one?? I haven't really pushed the merch too hard as of yet, because I haven't had but a couple of people ask and if I do it,, it will be a batch of shirts to then feature on the channel. But there is some upfront costs to getting that going and I am super picky as to who does my stuff as I don't do poor quality material and craftsmanship. But I will definitely let you know the when and how.
