I have spent the last 3 years paying off debt, researching and renting pull behinds. Thought I would have to have a bumper pull....til I saw this video. Omg! Gotta go work on that Lance budget!!!
Hi Sheila Spence, Good job on paying off debt! We try to live debt free as well. I recommend to my friends to pay cash for a camper and to not go into debt. Truck campers are great for just one or two people. The downside to a truck camper is you also have to have a good strong truck to go with it. If you have a good tow vehicle already it may be less expensive to find a travel trailer. Good luck on whatever you decide to get and safe travels. Thanks for watching!
As a journeyman sailboat interior designer fabricator for the second largest sailboat manufacturer in the world I am very impressed with amount of storage there seems to be no wasted space at all and as the old saying goes there is never enough storage space I am very impressed!
You are going to love your Lance! I have a 2018 1/2 Lance 1575. I spent three months working in West Virginia last winter. It got down to 7 Deg F. The Lance insulation and windows kept us toasty warm. You will burn 4 to 5 Lbs of propane every 24 hours at 7 Deg F.
That is one hell of an awesome camper!!! This huge influx of people buying Campers and RVs has really forced these companies to innovate and efficiently make great use of these small places
Amazing. Features galore. They have max air covers For the bathroom fan. Keeps rain out. If u forget to close. Ur covered !! Beautiful. I've always loved Truck campers. I've graduated to 25' Rockwood. Too much stuff. I'm going full time. Have fun with your beautiful camper. Matt's RV reviews voted yours at #1.. featured 5 top. Truck campers.
We bought a brand new 2005 Lance camper with the exact layout you guys have. I loved it to the moon and back! They really are the cadillac of campers. Everything is well thought out, designed and top quality. It was a very sad day when we had to sell her. ENJOY!!!
Truck campers are the best, and yours is stunning! I love everything you went with as far as finishes. Truck campers look tiny but are deceivingly big on the inside and feel really cozy. I rather drive one of these than pull a big trailer. I wish you many happy years in your new purchase!
That is nice. I just bought a 1997 Sun Lite pop up slide in camper. It hasn't been used for years and sat inside a barn. Very clean inside and out. No fancy upgrades like yours, but only weighs 1,400 lbs. Can't wait to try it out. Yours is very nice, but I only paid $2,600 for mine. Congratulations on your new adventures.
Y’all already having it look like home! I enjoyed your video (and subscribed to see many more)! Go make many more memories in your new Lance 975! And once again, thank you for coming to us!
That was a nicely done video, but it did convince me that I would never want the Lance 975. My Northstar Igloo is shorter, weighs much, much less and has way more interior storage, actual counter space, a more comfortable, useable dinette and table. And I can stop and use the bath, kitchen, dinette and bed without extending a slide. I can camp on a friend's residential street in full stealth mode without a slide. I do not need to worry about a 12 year roof guarantee. My heavy gauge aluminum roof is 16 years old and looks like new except for some stains and gray patina. After showers I do need to use a squeegee for a minute or so to dry the walls and floor. Having living and storage space is more important to me.
Congratulations on your new camper . I just bought my truck today to carry my new retirement home and will be getting my camper in the next few days or so . Had my mind set on a different truck camper but now idk. So happy for y’all 😁
Having owned a truck camper ourselves, I wish you many enjoyable years of use! Our first new one costs $6k as we didn't know if we would like camping. Well we loved it and are on our third one now.
Really really really nice Truck Camper, best I've seen yet!! I grew up in the 60's and dad always had a pickup truck. First a shell topper, then a little tiny camper topper. By 1975 he had a crank up top camper with tent sides we could stand up in. That was his last. If he were alive he'd love these new campers! He'd be so amazed. Because of him I have to check them out all the time. My husband and I have owned 5 RVs over 30 years. Truck campers always call my name! :o)
Todd, first if all i want to congratulate you for bringing your daughter, Carla, along with you on trips. I have had two truck campers and enjoyed both. I've had about 5 pull trailers and 4 fifth wheels. I have liked all except one of the fifth wheels. Have good travels. Happy trails to you. Grandpa Terry.
Congratulations, Fantastic camper! I see the joy in both your faces. When the slide is in can you get to the bathroom? Enjoy every bit of life for as long as you can. Making me want a Lance!
I've done a lot of research and I believe Lance makes the best truck campers and trailers. I like this kitchen design much better than the too compact, L-shaped design.
Lovely camper and lovely couple who are enjoying it together. I am happy for you both. Thanks for sharing with all of us. I never really new truck campers could be so homey and roomy. Beautiful interior; love the bath! It is all around the best truck camper I have ever seen. Also, I noticed how nice the Ram truck color matches the camper - SHARP! Enjoy!
Wow...very impressive. I have a 35 foot class A motor home and you have pretty much every amenity that I have. Doesn't leave you wanting for much. Congratulations and happy travels.
I just subscribed. It was your comment about admitting its a new camper and still learning that hooked me. I really appreciate honesty. Looking forward to learning more about the camper from your videos. Take care.
Hi Damnit Sid, Thanks for the sub and comment. We are still learning about our new Lance and are sure are enjoying it while doing so. I got a few upgrade ideas I hope to make some videos about as well. Thanks for watching!

Nice walk around video. I have a 975 on my wish list and have watched all the tour videos but I like how you guys showed us the parts you liked best. Keep us posted as you use the camper.
Sorry I don't know this ladies name, but she has such a great smile, took me a while to figure it out... when she smiles, you tell that she is genuinely happy. I don't know the fellows name yet either, but he was the coolest voice... you two are a perfect couple.. best wishes, love your camper too... sad to hear about your dog not reaching the bed...
I just found your channel, I've been watching a few of your videos. LOL you guys change truck campers faster than I can watch videos. LOL good channel really, like your last setup with the rails on the truck.
Very, Very nice!! Congratulations on your new camper and I wish you many happy adventures. I am really impressed with the Lance products. They know how to do it right.
Congratulations! Very nice camper! Although I went the opposite direction...😄. I had a Lance & got a Bigfoot, hahaha! But the Lance was a 9.5' 1994 and my Bigfoot is a 9.5' 2015. Loving the hell out of it! Got it in March & have taken it on about 20 trips so far. Added a Renogy 50 amp dc-dc charger/solar controller & 400 watts on the roof with 2 - 6 volt AGM batteries, & a 2000 watt inverter. 95% of my camping is off grid & boondocking so this system is amazing for me! Made a huge difference! I only have a 2 way fridge (ac or gas) but love being able to run my fridge off of the ac inverter as my dc-dc charger can more than keep up with the inverters demand while driving! Fridge draws about 25 amps intermittently, charger is roughly 50 amps.
@Jason Bednarik we looked at the Bigfoot and were really leaning that way but the bed length just didn't cut it for Todd. He's 6' and his feet would stick off the bed, otherwise it would have been great! We're really excited to do some boondocking and hopefully will be able to in the very near future. Thanks for watching!
CONGRATULATIONS! It’s amazing! I wish you both many miles of happy glamping! We used to call our truck camper our “SNAIL HOME!” Because everywhere we went our home was always on our back! But as I look at yours it makes that old truck camper look more like a slug!😂 Compared to your King Snail! 😂 Did I miss you mentioning the fact that the slide out has its own protective awning? Or was I seeing things?
We have been watching you for a while and have learned so much from you all about truck campers and what to get for them and how to take care of them. Because of you as well as several other truck camper channels after several years of looking we bought a new Lance 1172. Now you all own a new Lance also. Awesome! You look so happy with it and we now know we made the right decision if you bought a Lance. We can’t wait to see videos of your travels in it. We solved our dog problem by buying the Pet Car Step Stairs Accordion from Amazon. Thank you for your videos.
Hi John Harley, Congrats on the Lance 1172. We love those and were trying to decide between the 975 and 1172. The 975 just seemed to work for our wants and needs right now. Carla just purchased an accordion step thing from amazon maybe it's the same one. I hope it works! I hope you enjoy your 1172 and have lots of fun with it. Thanks for watching!
Awesome video! Great camper for retirement trips. I own a tundra so unless I get a new truck this level is out of reach for now, still love it! Best wishes to you guys!
For our TV we went to Walmart and bought Chromecast a device the plugs in your TV and wall outlet. Then download that to your phone or computer. Cost about 29.00- 30.00 no monthly fee on that. Then we have Hulu that's 6.00 per month. So we cast the movie from our phone to the TV. Yes you have to have internet for it to work. But most places have internet that you can use. It's the best way for us and cheaper. Just a thought for you.
Such a beautiful camper! We haven't had a truck bed camper in 20 years, but now that the kids are grown and gone we definitely plan to get another one. This one is definitely on our radar. Thank you for such a great video.
I am so jelly! I wish you many happy and safe travels. It is beautiful. It would be great to see a follow video talking about how it handles when driving.
Beautiful camper. I’ve always been intrigued by the engineering and portability of truck campers. But with my back and wife’s claustrophobia climbing into the cocoon like bed would be a no go. Plus y’all look to be 25 years younger! Guess we’ll stick to our Grand Design 5th wheel. Safe travels!
Love how they have figured out how to fit a qt. of jello in a pint jar. :) There's more counter space, and a better bathroom then most regular camping trailers. At the price of a truck I'd need to haul it with now a day's it just would not work for me, but really like it!
I wish 975 came with the little bed over the dinning table. I have a long bed 250 so I'm looking at the 850 .I'm happy for you guys thing is sweet wish 850 had built in generator like 975 that rear bumper is a must 💖
Congrats on your new Lance 975:) I enjoyed your tour; I like the new interior finishes and exterior graphics. Lance campers are really nice. I let my 2016 Lance 995 (wet bath)/Ford F350 dually go in January, and got a Revel (Winnebago) 4x4 van. I was looking to simplify my set up a bit. Enjoy many years in your new rig and thanks for posting the video👍
Great video, Thank you for showing your camper and such great detail! You did great! Better than salesman! I am looking at the very same truck camper. Q, would this camper sit okay on a standard 4x4 3500 Ram? (no dooly) I was thinking of putting 35 x 12 inch tires and wheel package on the truck. Q 2, is there a version of this camper without the slide? Vince
Nice video. Is that noise the A/C. I think it is. I and most folks hate how loud RV A/C units are. You would think that by now, 2021, we could have quiet A/C. Love that bathroom! What is the weight? Truck campers might be a solution for those who want to house/store it in a garage. More great adventures ahead for you guys. Keep us posted. Thanks for showing it to us.
Nice. I decided I wasn't spending more than $20k cash on a truck camper. I don't want payments. Went with the Palomino HS 8801. Love it. Of course, I'm in another $10k in solar, lithiums etc. But I love it. And I can still bring my 14' cargo trailer (garage) with me. I've had big rvs and I came back to the truck camper. It's easier in every way. But I had to keep weight to a minimum while pulling my 7000lb trailer.
7000 lb trailer, I take it that you've got tandem axles, I've been trying to decide if I need two or if one will suffice just for weight. My thoughts, I'd carry maybe two harley's or a side by side and miscellaneous small stuff and go with just one axle.
@@Owen4it It is a tandem axle. It's 7'×14'. I had to sell my side×side (Honda pioneer 1000 , 5 seater with the dump bed) because it took up too much room. I can't imagine getting 2 Harleys in any enclosed, single axle cargo trailer, and any room left for much else.
A few drawbacks about slide in campers. If you want a slide OUT.... you need a truck that hauls at least 3000 lbs... that means 1 ton american truck. Another is space and comfort. You have uncomfortable dinette seats and staring at each other every time you sit down. The super ones that have 3 slides helps but you need a dually.
I have spent the last 3 years paying off debt, researching and renting pull behinds. Thought I would have to have a bumper pull....til I saw this video. Omg! Gotta go work on that Lance budget!!!

I have a long bed 250 so I'm looking at the 850 .I'm happy for you guys thing is sweet wish 850 had built in generator like 975 that rear bumper is a must 💖
Thanks for your detailed review. I have seen Lance before, only on the outside. It was so nice to see the detail in the inside. Very nice camper.
wow, very nice Truck Camper. Lance builds some of the best, hence the cost, haha. But, worth every dime. Awesome Rig, Truck and All!
What do they cost??
@@4pingeye probably 35k to 50k.
@A G thanks for your kind comment and thanks for watching!
We just got a Lance travel trailer about a month ago. We love it so far! It’s amazing how much they can get into a truck camper!
Hi Apartment B, The Lance travel trailers are great. We hope you love your Lance as much as we do our truck camper. Thanks for watching!
Love everything about it thanks folk's for sharing this with us I need to check in on one have great time in beautiful camper
Also, you can get pull out baskets on slides from Amazon for the cabinets. Huge difference.
7000 lb trailer, I take it that you've got tandem axles, I've been trying to decide if I need two or if one will suffice just for weight. My thoughts, I'd carry maybe two harley's or a side by side and miscellaneous small stuff and go with just one axle.

It is a tandem axle. It's 7'×14'.
I had to sell my side×side (Honda pioneer 1000 , 5 seater with the dump bed) because it took up too much room. I can't imagine getting 2 Harleys in any enclosed, single axle cargo trailer, and any room left for much else.
That is all you need to live good and keep it simple. Looks like a great set up .
I want to see ALL CAMPERS AND RV’S TO INSTALL PLUSH SEATING....SUPER COMFORTABLE SEATING, BED TOO‼️‼️‼️
I enjoyed watching.... Congrats on your new toy! Aloha from Anchorage, Alaska *cheers*
