Last year, 2023, we went to hike Skaros Rock and afterwards decided to hike Imerovigli to OIa. Wow! So fantastic, we met such nice people along the hike. We did at end of May and was still quite warm.
Is there a reason why Fira to Oia seems to be the most popular as we plan to go Oia to Fira. We were thinking of driving from Kamari to Fira and parking hire car. Then catching bus to Oia and basically walking back to car

Is it worth it to pay for a tour guide ? I’ve seen all these videos but I still don’t feel too confident going by ourselves.

Either direction is fine. I do like getting the transportation out of the way and then doing the walk in the opposite direction.
