Thank you for giving us this simpler one! We, newbies, are starting with pieces like this and this is really helpful! I actually have a nightstand I was going to just paint, but I got a bit intimidated when I realized it was solid cherry lol. Now I'm a bit nervous about messing it up. The condition of it is really just like these tables. The top is a bit messy but the rest is BEAUTIFUL! This is exactly how I'm going to revive it! ❤️
Just GLORIOUS! My goodness--so awesome! I have been sanding, stripping and scraping the tops of a few pieces these past few weeks and I am LOVING them all!!! You are MY INSPO!
You are phenomenal ! I have been watching your videos everyday. You are extremely talented and you teach and inspire. I have a garage full of furniture. Watching your videos has taught me new techniques I had never thought of. I haven't started my little furniture business yet because of lack of knowledge of what products to use together. Thank you.
Wow. Beauties, as always. I have a cherry French Provential style chest of drawers that I bought at an estate sale 4 years ago sitting in my garage. Every time my 7year-old grandson sees it he asks me when am I going to fix it and take it in the house... it’s not my style but I’m going to tackle it soon. Soon. You’re an inspiration :-)
You are amazing. Your videos are informative, inspiring and soothing. I adore that you let the piece dictate your decisions. Alot of flippers paint everything.
I can't get over how you were able to get so perfectly close to the original stain on these tables and great video to learn about these very specific methods tiki seem to have acquired through years of trial & error. I so value all you share in your videos and appreciate all the effort that I can only imagine goes into just 1 video let alone your constant and always innovative content that I can't get enough of as you exceed expectations with your take on current and gone by trends.
Thank for this video! My daughter and I are planning to refinish the tables that my husband and I bought when we furnished our first home 40 years ago. We were just discussing how the tops of the tables needed some work, but we didn't want to bother the legs and sides. We will give this a try and thanks again!
I actually like the lighter shade especially since it seems to almost match the small piece of trim below the drawer and you can see the woodgrain. I think the tables are more beautiful than when they were new! 😁💖👍
I was binge watching trying to catch up. I think I have done that and I have found a piece of old furniture to test what I have learned. Good luck to me!!!!
All i can say is thank you! For showing me the big heavy hand held scrapper. Wished i would have had that, or used something like that before. Could have saved myself alot!!!
I have a collection of old sewing machines but I also collected a number of vintage sewing cabinets without machines because the workmanship and solid wood was wonderful. I use two of them as lamp tables in a couple corners of my living room and one as a nightstand in a bedroom. Usually I just use Howard’s Orange Oil on them but I have wanted to refinish the tops and your instructions are perfect for this! I actually have a couple more with the shiny shellac finish in my garage holding up a kayak 🤣 . They are interesting designs that now I think would be something special with your technique.
I'm learning so much from you! These look awesome. I really love watching old pieces getting restored or refinished rather a coat of paint all over. Amazing work!
Thanks for the inspiration I needed to get started on a project to refinish an heirloom dining set from the early 1900s. I'm so glad my internet search led me to your videos! I'll try to take lots of before and after pics to share once I'm done.
This is AWESOME. I too am a newbie and this was exactly what I needed to watch. the crazy extensive flips are amazing to watch but hard to conceptualized - thank you for making this!
I have watched many many many videos and pieces being refinished. But only came across a couple of people who make it an art form. You are in a class by yourself.
Those side tables look like the ones my husband bought for his 2nd house from JCPENNEY 26 years ago. There was a matching sofa table and coffee table for the set too. You did a great job matching the stain color for the top to the rest of the piece. TSP is a great product. You can use it to clean walls & ceilings b4 painting. You have to rinse well with clear, clean water, let everything dry thoughly and then paint.
I find very interesting how you mix hemp oil with the finish and the mixing of the finishing colors . I am restoring a mid century dining set , your videos have been very useful. See ? I am not asking anything lol 😂 only sharing I am restoring the dining set . Thanks
Nice flip. Am sure. They will find a good home. Amazing how much of your art background of Colour theory can play into this work. Beautifully done, as always.
You just make it look so easy. And they turned out great. I stained a couple of dresser tops weathered gray Varathane and put some poly acrylic on them but there is still no shine. I love that shine on top.
Thank you for this video. It was just what I was looking for. I got a table that only needs " love" on the top, the rest is in good shape. Your video has inspired me to get busy. Thanks again.
Excellent job. In the daylight the top looked very much lighter, but then in the dressed shots, the colour was spot on. It’s like you know what you’re doing 😂 Such a light touch, but so much improved x
Love it. We are moving soon and trying to learn how to save old coffee table so I want to learn how to repaint it. I dont have the tools yet but good to know the tecniques
Very nicely done, thank you for sharing. I will be following this method for a mid century desk I recently picked up which is beautiful but in need of this process.
I'm definitely look to your videos for inspiration. I've started working on a coffee table that was beautiful oak that had been painted a couple of times... The only problem that I have is that my sense of style is crap lol
Those tops turned absolutely gorgeous! You are so incredibly talented and smart! You just seem so young to know so may tricks of the trade! Lol. I’m working on a coffee table (drop leaf) that I think is from the same era as the tables you did. The legs are identical. And I’m sanding the top to natural and painting the base/legs. Really hoping it turns out as great as yours did!😃
I just found a gorgeous antique dresser and mirror for only $50, but the top is in terrible condition. Ive never refinished anything ever. Or used a sander. I have not bought the piece yet, but now Im reconsidering 😂 thank you for your tutorial
Please start wearing a back support belt to prevent lifting injuries! I’m in my 70’s and got a small umbilical hernia from using my arms to lift & move moderately heavy loads. After repair via colonoscopy, I’m as sore as ever! Use care now to avoid disability later! Your work is GREAT!
Could you perhaps make a video on how to use a wood scrapper? I have some night stands that I would like to refresh. No where near antique, but pretty enough for me to want to keep them and want to refinish (yay for being durable). No experience whatsoever and I do not want to mess up too bad 🙈
Thank you for showing us how to refresh a piece of wood furniture! I'm sure it will enjoy many more years of use!
You’re such an artist! You gave these nightstands back their dignity.
Thank you for explaining a bit what you do, this way we can learn and not just admire the beautiful result. 👍😀

This inspired me. I just bought a pair of older nightstands and I’m going to re-finish the tops. Nice job!

You should teach classes on furniture restoration. You really know your craft.

Really lovely and super helpful. I will rewatch this later today so I can take some notes on what you did. Your refinishing is really master class.
I'm learning so much from you! These look awesome. I really love watching old pieces getting restored or refinished rather a coat of paint all over. Amazing work!
Just beautiful! I didn’t realize cherry wood was so pretty. I usually see it overly stained in that nasty red color.
Truely BEAUTIFUL, an excellent job Angie👏👏👏

Love that you put it back to the way it was
This is AWESOME. I too am a newbie and this was exactly what I needed to watch. the crazy extensive flips are amazing to watch but hard to conceptualized - thank you for making this!
Glad it was helpful!
My parents had those exact tables. Good job.
Beautiful as always. I just did a sofa table that looked just like this. Kept the top bare wood and the bottom a buttercream color. One of my favs.
Thanks for sharing tutorials about your technique! You have so much knowledge about wood.
I have watched many many many videos and pieces being refinished. But only came across a couple of people who make it an art form. You are in a class by yourself.

This is great. I’m studying while I collect. And I have several different scenarios to deal with already.
Very beautiful! I love how they turned out!

Beautiful they look brand new
You have a great eye and understanding of color theory. Beautiful work! Also, I’ve never seen a Stickley piece that wasn’t arts and crafts style.
Nice flip. Am sure. They will find a good home. Amazing how much of your art background of Colour theory can play into this work. Beautifully done, as always.
It’s true! It comes in handy with pretty much every piece in one way or another!
Thank you for keeping it real! You just tell us what to do and that's it. This is one of the best channels I'm subscribed too.
You're very welcome!! I really appreciate that. 😊
Those are gorgeous tables...excellent work on the tops. So beautiful!!

Very well done, as usual!
A little bit of love goes a long way. Beautiful!

@@TranscendFurnitureGallery 😳what?!? Yup, I even had you figured for late 20’s! I’m 51. So I guess 41 is still young to me. Lol!
Very nice matching techniques.
Thank you! Cheers!
Beautiful!

That's a beautiful table 😍😍
Thank you so much! 😊

Great job. Really enjoyed this video. 👌👌
thank you so much for this!
Just gorgeous! I assume you're using oil-based wipe on polyurethane? All those thin layers really paid off in terms of matching the luster.

you are amazingly talented, keep it up! xo meg
Much better finish than the original (too glossy). I have a Lane cedar chest and I HATE the shiny top!
Simply Amazing!!!
Thank you! Cheers!
