@@ForgivingDragon That sounds like a horrible God. Why would you worship such a spiteful and vengeful being?
@@Rac3r4Life humans are more horrible. So there's that. We deserve no breaks.
Tornadoes can be fairly precise. My house has aluminum awnings above each southern facing window. We had an F-3 tornado in 1982 that took all three awnings but did no other damage to the house. We never did find the awnings. It also hit a neighbor’s 30 foot tall maple tree and twisted it. It left the tree standing but spiraled all of the branches around the trunk.
@@Rac3r4Life I recognize now that I was trying to show truth to a mocker. When the day comes that you recognize that you have or know nothing, know that you may humble yourself before God and he still will accept you into his flock. As you may have heard mentioned, John 3:16 - For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
I apologize for my hastiness and lashing out in response, nonetheless.
This is sadly the tornado that ripped through my neighborhood. It was very crazy. If the tornado swooped just a bit it would’ve hit the hill I live on. I’m very happy that it didn’t hit my house and feel terrible for the three people who got hurt.

Nature is a scary beautiful thing
I don’t understand how people can see this in their own backyard and not move somewhere where there aren’t tornadoes. These people have way more balls than I do.
This is not known to happen often in S Western Pennsylvania, and never the same place twice, always on hilltops. ( last ‘open’ area hit was >60 yrs ago)
That's the thing...tornadoes can happen anywhere. Even Alaska.
i think this was the ef2, the others that happened on the same day were 0s and 1s, but we normally don’t get tornadoes over here so it was a wild day to say the least.
We rarely get tornadoes in SWPA, but we’ve had like 10 in May, and it’s exceeded our average for the year. All EF0 and EF1, and I think one EF2. Fortunately, no fatalities.
Take your pick: tornadoes, hurricanes, wildfires, or floods.
Holy Moses, that went from 0-100 in an instant.

ffs ... 🙄
So those people are just gonna stand there and stare at a Tornado like deer 🤦♂️
A good reminder that size doesn't matter. (Lol 😏) A small tornado can do just as much damage as a large tornado. I have seen footage of violent wedge tornadoes and this is usually how they start. It's dangerous to assume the strength of any tornado because 9 times out of 10 you'll probably get a nasty surprise.
A small dirt devil came right through our campsite once. It knocked tents down , threw everything around, and tore up tarps.
Drone footage is one of my favorites when watching tornado videos. 4K is fabulous too but the high up shots like this video are so crazy cuz you never seen them at that vantage point
The way it touched down so quickly 😮
So unassuming until you see a house turned into matchsticks...
In milliseconds
Why are they all outside?!? 😳
My thoughts exactly. I was going to ask why do we always see people just standing outside to watch some natural disaster too close for comfort. My first instinct, run for safety.
Because tornadoes don't occur inside.
Prayers to you all. I've been in tornados in Kansas. Fortunately our house was spared every time.

Holy heavens! It was barely starting to form when it immediately destroyed (or partially destroyed) a building! Even the "weakest" tornados can be very destructive! Crazy!
I KNOW, RIGHT??!! Guess immediately after they are born, they get violent!! From innocence to evil, in a few seconds!!!
who said that was a weak tornado?
@@CreeseDF I did. The funnel hadn't even touched the ground before it started demolishing buildings.
@@scootermom1791 just because there is not condensation funnel does not mean the tornado is weak. it very much was touching the ground otherwise nothing would've gotten destroyed.
@@CreeseDF hmmm... interesting. I thought the "tornado" part of a "tornado" was the funnel. Before it forms, I thought it was just a bad storm with a bad wind. I don't live in an area that gets many tornadoes (thank goodness!), so forgive my ignorance. 🙂👍
No rain, still some sun... not someone's stereotypical idea of a tornado environment. Be aware. Even if you think the warnings are crying wolf, get to a safe spot.
Crazy that even a weak little tornado like that can do that much damage. 😮
small doesn't mean weak. Not a perfect correlation between size and intensity. It blew up a house. It wasn't a weak tornado. In Canada a few years ago a "small" tornado meandered through a town, everyone was out watching it and taking pictures. It was tentatively classified as F1 based on size. Than they noticed that it picked up an entire brick bungalow and pulled it up a hundred feet or more in the air just whirling it around the center vortice. And we thought the Wizard of Oz was pure fantasy!
You're just sitting around in your underwear when a column of swirling wind flattens your house and scatters your belongings.
Exactly. That's why I always get dressed, have keys, phone, wallet, flashlight, and all that, when I'm in the path of a nasty thunderstorm.
Think I’ll stick with hurricanes, at least we have plenty of time to get out!!!! Tornadoes scare me to death 😢
Whats the difference?
Tornadoes and earthquakes are far more scary.
Why are those people outside?
Kansan here. There’s a few reasons we stand outside during thunderstorm and tornado season. 1. No one will tell you where the tornados at, until AFTER it hits something. Which means something is getting hit first, and we need to know if it’s gonna be us. I was taught as a child what to look out for in the clouds to know if there’s a chance of tornadoes. 2. Where’s there’s one tornado, there can most definitely be two or more. I would very much like to know if there’s more than one. 3. To see which direction it’s headed. And for all who may not know, if a tornado looks like it isn’t moving, it’s headed straight towards you. Now for more tornado knowledge. NEVER get inside of your car. Find a ditch or lay low on the ground. Your car is an umbrella in the wind to a tornado. Most tornadoes move 10-20mph, they can get up to 60mph. Most tornadoes are very difficult to see, they are usually in the middle of heavy thunderstorms. So how do you see it in a heavy thunderstorm? Look for small flashes of light near the ground. And a constant thundery rumble. If you see the lights and hear the rumble, you got a tornado. If you’re not in the rain and you can see the clouds, you’re looking for clouds moving in different directions, not spaced far apart. Thats called rotation, and it’s what breeds tornadoes. Not all rotation leads to tornadoes. In fact few do, but a tornado requires rotation to get it started.
This is normal in Tornado Alley states. Everybody, including myself, does this. When the tornado comes your way or gets closer then you dash to the basement.
In 1975 -- just going outside to watch tornado wasn't enough for one guy in Omaha. He actually climbed onto the roof to watch. He was later picked up when they found the pieces.
@@NovaDust94 Kansan here as well, us midwestern folks are crazy when it comes to tornados.😂
It's south thing you know how many times I was in a storm shelter and my dad uncle and granddad all stood outside or near a door during super bad storms
This was in Peters Township, Pennsylvania 12 miles South of Pittsburgh in a area with lots of hills and valleys.
I hate when that happens.
I’m sad for the people who are hurt or had their homes destroyed. Prayers for them.❤
I've been in a flood, and a flood is incredibly rotten. But a tornado must be terrifying.
I agree as far as which one is more frightening. But with a flood there's the sewer combining with flood waters. Gross! Plus a flood destroys everything in its path while a tornado picks and chooses what it destroys.
@@scootermom1791 I quite agree. Anything absorbent that that brown water touches is history.
@@alanpecherer5705 no kidding! It makes me shudder to think about it. Glad you survived the flood, though. 🙂
I've had nightmares about both tornadoes and floods. Very scary natural disasters.
We had a flood too in Seal Beach when I was a kid. I didn't mind- no school yay!. I can still hear my mom walking around the 2 feet of water in my bedroom. Outside it was deep though, enough that I had to swim in a few places. some people were floating around on surfboards and little boats, a canoe.... We had just got new carpet a few days before, it was dark blue with a lot of padding, soft and luxurious...but then after the flood the jerk replaced it with the cheapest ugliest uncomfortable yellowish monstrosity he could find...
Dammit every time I happily reminisce about this that damn carpet rears it's ugly head... It was supposedly shag carpeting which was the fad then, so each little piece of the shag was really long...kinda looks cool when there is alot per square inch, really thick... But this nightmare- it had almost None! You could see the canvas on the bottom! So walk on it once and the pile just lays down flat. Gawd I hated it.
Thanks for listening.
I have chased sooo many of these, as a storm chaser. My hubby, and I are both hams{{if any of you know what that means 😉 }}. We would get tornado warnings out about 12 minutes before the news stations. CRAZY STUFF!! We have been for many years. They are BEAUTIFUL, but DEADLY, for sure. We have seen one F5-wasn’t confirmed. But, we knew!! I’m a storm lover, ALWAYS have been. We still go chasing, and sit in different locations, and notify TV, and law enforcement. Storm spotters. Idk, there’s just something about storms- - We’ll keep doing it until we can’t!!!
Just PLEASE BE VERY CAREFUL!!
It's an important job when you think about it. I think about all the lives you and your husband could potentially save by trying to give the authorities and news stations as much as advance notice as possible so the notifications and alarm systems can be set off. Even better is that you both enjoy doing it. May the Good Lord keep you safe!
Glad there are people out their still doing hams!💕

No matter where you live, you will have to put up with some bullsh1t. 😣 So not sure if your argument stands.
Yeah, we don’t always feel safe during certain months of the year, but the area tornadoes can hit covers half the US. And the other half gets hurricanes, possible earthquakes, blizzards, or desert conditions. Pick your poison in this country.
This is a great example of the “freight train” sound people talk about with tornadoes. You can even hear it starting up when the tornado becomes visible
That thing came out of nowhere, and then disappeared just as fast as it appeared. I would not have been like those two guys at the bottom, I would’ve been running inside and taking cover somewhere.
They probably had no idea what has going on. They had those big trees right in front of them and were likely just scanning the sky. You can even see them leaning over to look under the trees. Kinda crazy.
