I just came here to say that these "humiliating" games happen to all 30 Major League teams during the course of a 162 game season. When you play seven games in seven days, ten games in ten days, thirteen games in fourteen days, eventually there will be a day when every team plays horribly bad. Bad pitching, bad fielding, bad hitting, or all three.
Last April Sean Manaea through a no-hitter in Oakland against the visiting Boston Red Sox. The Red Sox ended the regular season with 108 wins and capped it off with a World Series Championship.
Some days you're the windshield, some days you're the fly. On these days the "good" teams were the fly, and got splattered all over the "bad" teams' windshield.
