This scene right here it's the definition of disappointment. They've gone too far, they literally dragged Marilyn's name in the mud. This movie wanted to describe Marilyn as unstable, tragic and pretty dumb. Which is so far from the real deal. Marylin wasn't only a victim. She was a symbol, she was smart and knew how to play dumb in a society that didn't like smart girls. They didn't hinted even once at her personality, talent or brains. Nooo, she was just a victim. Non-stop crying and making baby voices, calling everyone daddy. Disturbing. This movie is a f*cking disappointment.
Norma Jean. Someone should do a documentary on her. Not the character that people idolize and abuse. Norma Jean didn't even talk, dress or act like the character she created. Her voice was deeper, she was very intelligent and very talented. So talented that so many people believe that Marylin was her true self.

Cause its so far fetched to show her in a sexual scene with the married man she was in fact screwing. Something like this probably really happened to her. She was exploited for secs her whoke life. It wasnt all rainbows and unicorns
The movie could’ve given us *hidden gem moments* of her close friendship with Ella Fitzgerald and how she stood up for Civil Rights. I’ve watched a lot of biopics of her and I have yet to see that relationship on screen. There were so many other sides of Marilyn that had meaningful impacts. I’m afraid this wasn’t it😢
Facts about Marilyn: 1)She started her own production company, which was rare for a woman during her era. 2) She loved to read, especially science based literature. 3) She was close friends with exiled communist intellectuals, whom she would regularly meet with in Mexico. This is further verified via declassified CIA documents. 4) She had strong left leaning political views - once again, as documented by CIA declassified information, and those that knew her. Merilyn was a woman with poise, intellect, bold opinions and a strong sense of who she was. This movie portrayed her as an emotional and intellectual invalid. How grotesque. Edit: Marilyn* Correction for the accidental typo of the second reference to her name - because some people are insecure.
Did you watch the film? The movie constantly points out how well read she is and that she presented herself as someone who appeared infantilized in order to appease other people. Furthermore, the film is more about the idea of Marylin and the idea of an icon in general.

Those exaggerated facial expressions and her voice are so blatantly posed for films, or maybe public appearances, there is no way she spoke like this really in such an intimate setting.
exactly !! im a huge fan of marilyn monroe and its very obvious ana studied marilyns voice in her films and mimicked that compared to her real speaking voice. she put on a "dumb blonde" persona on screen when the characters she played were scripted that way. in reality, she had a very different voice and sounded nothing like how ana de armas portrayed her.
There are plenty of audio recordings of Marilyn speaking in her regular voice. There are plenty of audio interviews on RUclips and even in some of her movies, such as Niagara, in which she is speaking with her "normal" voice.
Why would someone ever film this? Where's the poetry? Where's the message? Totally viscid, vomitous and uncalled for. We see you Marilyn. You deserved way better.
I started this movie and had to stop about 18 mins in. It’s not what I was expecting at all. I understand Marilyn went through horrible things and i thought the movie was going to show more of her legacy as opposed to negative stuff. It feels a little over sexualized in my opinion
A little? This movie had nothing to do with the real Marilyn. Idk why the director felt the need to blatantly make horrible things up about her. Her real life was tragic enough .
This movie is nothing but a torture prawn, snuff-film male fantasy. I cannot BELIVE this was funded, approved, released, and APPLAUDED in today’s age. It’s so, so disheartening.

@@blinkeuisaswiftie8397 The scene was horrible but I'm tired of directors not following their version all the way through because of studio interference. It's good he didn't budge.
From my understanding marilyn usually had consensual sex. She had many affairs but I don't think she would degrade herself to perform such demeaning acts. In her autobiography she wrote a few times about how she walked out on powerful men who forced her to have sex.
If you haven't see any of the other films about Marilyn please watch any of them before this one as this shouldn't be the first film you see about her. This because Ana's performance is so strong that every other film before this won't be able to leave a lasting impression the way this one will and if you see this first it might end up being how you see Marilyn for the rest of time. This film is not the best way to be introduced to miss Monroe. Ana can only follow the script and her performance was brilliant, while I know it is mostly a fictional account of Marilyn's life I am not sure I was prepared to see her in this way. It wasn't an easy watch.
This movie was not it. The Movie is an insult to Marilyn What they did to her is disgusting. 3 hours of my life I will never get back. What a horrible movie. I understand through much research that Marilyn had a very troubled life and lived with much trauma, fear of rejection, depression and anxiety. The poor woman was used and abused by very powerful men. However, there was many smiles, laughs and points of comfort and happiness for her. This film was absolutely shocking, it gave no impression of any happiness. Marilyn done so many kind things, she sat with young children in poverty and made them laugh and mothered them, she gave the men at war hope, her heart was on her sleeve. She told the world she lived for them, they made her not 20th century fox. She said that and she meant it, she loved to love, smile and laugh. This film did her no justice and it needs to be ignored, true MM fans know why she was suffering, but she was an icon, a beauty and truly loved. If you ain’t going to show the world the best of her then leave her at peace . RIP queen ❤

To be fair, this movie wasn't about the glamorous side of Marilyn. There was already a movie for that in the '90s. It's about what's behind it. It was unsettling & disturbing because she was exploited by rich people in Hollywood. Though there were some inaccuracies & over-dramatisations, as all other biopics do, this was pretty much her life behind the spotlight based on books & interviews from the people who knew her.
This is such a violation. One of my mother's oldest friends (when she was around 18) met Marilyn by chance on the beach in The Hamptons not too long before her death. It was during her marriage to Arthur Miller. She said she was incredibly down to earth, sweet and smart- very normal in her off time. I'm sorry she didn't stay in NY after the divorce. She would probably have lived a much longer, more peaceful life. Hollywood ate her alive. It is grotesque to know how she was used, abused and slandered by so many vultures.
Love this reaction. Exactly because this was his, the director, fantasy of her. Ridiculous. I'm glad I didn't see it. 🙄🙄This was basically a movie about what HE thought of her. RIDICULOUS
I don't need to know her sexual life, but also this is happening all the time, they use women, but no one tells you, maybe when she wanted to speak out they killed her, i think Hollywood is much worse, she said that, but no one can really Imagine the pain, this movie helped me to imagine, being actress is very dangerous, I don't want to be any more

This movie was made so in a way her voice could be heard and people know what her life was like back then, MM was very sweet, sassy, she gave everything & yes we love to see it however this is not disrespectful consider it like a auto biography in a way. I see nun but people who hating on a movie when they didn't even know MM herself, kinda sad im sure MM is pleased that her story was told in a way. I'm sure the people who hate this film are the same ones who think she killed herself...child anyways
Blonde, the movie and the book, are both far from being autobiographical. That was not her life at all. You want an autobiography of Marilyn? It's called My Story. You want a good biography about Marilyn? The Secret Life of Marilyn Monroe by J. Randy Taraborelli.

It was literally like an life is strange episode nothing made sense and half of it was just weird I know the aspects of her life, and what the film was trying to do but it just came off as weird. I just feel they could've focused a lot more important things in her life like how she started her own production built a character woman could look up to and enjoy. How beautiful her voice was. How good of a dancer she was and that she could play instruments. Her modeling showing off her beauty, how she worked hard in the Hollywood industry while still dealing with her private life, instead they made her a sex doll to everybody and she wasn't that she was labeled as a sweet, sensitive girl who was well mannerd to anyone who was around her presences. And I just wish they'd show a Jane Russell somewhere in the movie it would've been great marylin seeing the famous blonde, and the beautiful brunette together in the same movie. She was a star, not a "sex symbol."
This movie had a lot of sexual stuff (Threesome, Oral etc.) Which i found really disturbing. It's like I watched a porn film that had nothing to do with Marilyn Monroe. May she rest in peace..
Watch "Love Marilyn" or "Marilyn Reframed" if you want to know about this lady. Her own words from her own writings will give you a good sense of this sensitive, hard working, successful, talented & complicated soul. Why watch & listen to 'made up shit,' when you can know the real deal. I left this movie in the toilet where it belongs. Fiction & Biopic don't belong in the same sentence & 'one dimensional' characters should be a 'red flag."
I Once Met Someone Who Is Medium And In Contact With Marilyn’ Soul... And This Movie Is An ”Insult", An "Affront" To The Memory Of Marilyn And John. Both Were Great Patriots... And For Information, Marilyn Had Endometriosis And She Suffered From Insomnia And Hyperesthesia... More And More, She Suffered Also From Agoraphobia... This Is The Reason Why She Used Alcohol To Overcome Her Panic Attacks... Her Death Is A Murder Disguised As Suicide... She Was Not Taking These Medications Even Though They Were Prescribed... She Will Reincarnate But Not As American And She Definitely Won’t Want To Be Famous Anymore But She Will Have The Same "Aura”... With Time She Will Recognize Herself But She Will Remain Silent... And She Will Be Very Grateful To All The People Who Love Her And Respectfully Keep Her Memory Alive... She Would Have Liked To Have Had More Time To Continue To Keep Them Dreaming... Apart From That, She Will Have No Regrets... Thanks For Reading Me, Stay With Love And Serenity 🙏💋

I've seen both the Marilyn Monroe documentary that came out a while ago on Netflix and this movie and I like them both for different reasons. The documentary tries to show her real life and who she was, her marriages, her own studio, and how she navigated through society at the time. This movie is a good fictionalized version of her life (that's based off a book) that tries to be a visually distinct film. People say this scene and the movie as a whole is a dishonor to Norma, and you can totally see it that way, but please remember that it is based off a fictional telling of her life and wants to show how difficult and painful her live possibly could have been. I've heard people say this movie takes out her brains and personality but I don't think that's true. She frequently talks about entire scripts she's read, makes an insightful insight about Magda which impresses her future husband, and she wanted to get into serious acting. If you haven't seen this movie (and are watching this video for some reason), please give it a go and try to see what it's going for. Sorry for this long winded, random comment but I just wanted to say my view.
Absolutely awful imagination of a corrupt mind can write this kind of imaginary story of any legendary person. Because he knows whatever he will write he will be millionaire within a month. So this irritating story came like this 🤬👎
Hey everyone…think about it…If this movie had done the opposite of making her look like a victim, for example, by making her look like all she did was seduce men to climb to the top, that would’ve been difficult to watch as well. People would’ve probably gotten even more upset and defensive. Ideally a balance of accurate facts all throughout the movie would’ve been great, but “Blonde” isn’t a documentary. It is a fictionalized take on the life and career of Norma Jean (based on a novel titled “Blonde” by Joyce Carol Oates). I feel it’s difficult to understand, especially when emotions are involved, but the purpose of “Blonde” was to highlight the way Hollywood took advantage of women back then (unfortunately continue to do so). “Blonde” represents a concentrated and dramatized version of the exploitation. Although difficult to digest, the truth is that Norma Jean was, in fact, abused and exploited by “eminent men…again and again” (powerful men that abused her including husbands, JFK and his bro, etc.), as Anthony Summers emphasizes in the documentary titled: “The Mystery of Marilyn Monroe: The Unheard Tapes” on Netflix. This is a fact and it does not take away from her intelligence, creativity, and credibility. Unfortunately, an important issue was highlighted at Norma Jean’s expense, an issue that I wish didn’t have to be highlighted…an issue I wish did not exist. But the reality is that it does, and it needs to be effectively exposed in a way that makes an impact. Sometimes documentaries are not impactful enough for viewers. Many actresses suffered exploitation during that time, but not all make an impact like Marilyn Monroe’s fame. She continues to be “one of the most famous people in the world,” as Summers says. Summers also emphasized her intelligence and creativity, so my belief is that she’d heartbrokenly understand. Watching Summer’s documentary was a big reason why I too felt upset about how “Blonde” focused on and exaggerated her vulnerability. I felt defensive over Norma Jean especially after having developed a deep appreciation for her. That’s why I understand where most are coming from. Interestingly, watching “The Mystery of Marilyn Monroe” prior is what also helped me better understand the purpose of “Blonde.” I also recommend reading “Goddess: The Secret Lives of Marilyn Monroe” by Anthony Summers (1985).
I’m beyond confused by the comments. Why are people upset about how Marilyn was portrayed? The reaction should be rage regarding how JFK was portrayed. They make him come off as some creep trying to borderline rape Marilyn.

I dont understand why they invented this fictional stuff when her life is already interesting enough.
Norma Jean. Someone should do a documentary on her. Not the character that people idolize and abuse. Norma Jean didn't even talk, dress or act like the character she created. Her voice was deeper, she was very intelligent and very talented. So talented that so many people believe that Marylin was her true self.
@@Progamerjay100 like Britney Spears, her real singing voice was lower but they made her sing in a pop bubble gum voice so she would sell better. Britney and MM have alot in common.
I’m afraid this wasn’t it😢
Preach sister!!!!!
TOTALLY AGREE WITH YOU, Candice
Facts about Marilyn:
1)She started her own production company, which was rare for a woman during her era.

Since when did JFK ever have facial hair…..
This movie was not it. The Movie is an insult to Marilyn What they did to her is disgusting. 3 hours of my life I will never get back. What a horrible movie. (The director openly admitted that he never watched any of Marilyn's films, further proof that this movie was only made to cash in on a Hollywood Starlet.) They continue to exploit and sexualize a dead person with made up things, as if she wasn't exploited and sexualized enough. As a massive fan this was a shot to the heart, worse than any book, documentary or biopic i have seen.
Maybe you should get into art and read a bit more, like your idol Marilyn was doing. Then you might appreciate the film. It's okay though, it's not for everyone
This was fcking disqusting. The director knew what he was doing. How could he make a movie about marilyn and all the sa she endured while calling her a wh&re himself? I feel like everything he wanted to do with this movie was exploiting ana de armas and he did that successfully
Omg I’m so glad I’m not the only that thinks she’s absolutely being exploited just exactly how they did to Marilyn by making her do al the sex scenes and being completely naked poor girl ,
you have to read more than one source about marilyn to see that these types of relationships are how she willingly lived her life, about the directors she had these types of relationships with Marilyn said everyone was doing it (meaning all the young Starlets were doing it to get parts) it’s how Hollywood was ran back then. In the beginning she initially refused these types of relationships at times but after she became a celebrity she continuously did these types of relationships it became her lifestyle. She usually was seeing two or even 3 people at any time and this includes when she was married to Arthur miller. He wrote it into his script for Misfits subtlety when he had her share a house with three men. She was obviously damaged. If only she had the presence to pull away from these kinds of happenings after she got famous. She could have then avoided all of it and took better care of herself. So tragic.
This movie is full of exaggerated lies however it is true that she was used by many of the people she had trysts with. early sexual abuse and exploitation in the industry and by families she lived with as a child would have had an effect on her and led to promiscuity later in her life. It would have been better and more accurate if the movie made this the focus. Her behavior in this area overshadowed her fame even to this day. she did amazing things in her life but you know her for the affair with the president and his brother Bobby (both at the same time), and this is just one example of her questionable choices. It seems to me that she had a true ditzy side which explains her behavior in this area. I don’t dislike her I’m saying what I’ve found in books of many peoples accounts of her. I’m on my third book about her and it’s subtle but she had a side to her that we don’t realize…again it’s very subtle but you’ve had a friend like her, the one who subtlety undercuts the other girls in the room for a guy, however I admire her softer side of her personality too. she used the soft, good girl side of her personality to her advantage. she just had a lot of issues with promiscuity unfortunately and she was often very difficult to people to the extreme to get what she wanted. At the end of her relationship with jfk he needed to break it off and she threatened him. I can see how initially you might take her side on this. But, really? it was an affair most people understood these types of relationships can’t go on forever. She ended up getting into trouble over this. She was upset but she had Joe D again during this time.
Her promiscuity and sexual insecurity are legendary and everyone knew about it, she was not accepted by Hollywood for these reasons. she was reckless in her relationships. By her choice. I believe this is what contributed to her suicide attempts, you can’t continue living like that it’s destructive. no doubt the people who used her led her to this path but then she started to walk down it on her own, we love her but her life and choices are quite horrifying it’s like watching a train wreck. That part of her should not be glorified or idolized it should be called what it was. Everyone thinks miller was a jerk (and he was) for what he wrote in his diary but what he wrote was what he saw of her few people were more out of control than her and it must have been disconcerting to have had to witness it. she did need to be told the truth and helped to be put in check. no different from any of the rest of us.

Agreed
“I want to respect and honor her” “we felt her spirit, she was happy” - Ana de armas………😬
How delusional
She blew his mind

If only she had the presence to pull away from these kinds of happenings after she got famous. She could have then avoided all of it and took better care of herself. So tragic.
This movie is full of exaggeration but it is true that she was used by many of the people she had trysts with. early sexual abuse and exploitation in the industry and by families she lived with as a child would have had an effect on her and led to promiscuity later in her life. It would have been better and more accurate if the movie made this the focus. Her behavior in this area overshadowed her fame even to this day. she did amazing things in her life but you know her for the affair with the president and his brother Bobby (both at the same time), and this is just one example of the choices she made due to having been exploited. It seems to me that she had a true ditzy side which explains her behavior in this area. I don’t dislike her I’m saying what I’ve found in books of many peoples accounts of her. I’m on my third book about her and it’s subtle but she had another side to her that we don’t realize…again it’s very subtle but you’ve had a friend like her, the one who subtlety undercuts the other girls in the room for a guy, however I admire her softer side of her personality too. she used the soft, good girl side of her personality to her advantage. she just had a lot of issues with promiscuity unfortunately and she was often very difficult to people to the extreme to get what she wanted.
Did you read her autobiography where she talked about how she repeatedly turned down casting couch offers and even kicked a guy during one? Or do you just read the sources that are meant to sensationalize and scandalize her life so people don’t have to feel guilty for how society treated her and women in general?
the movie? or the situations im sure ahe had to live... i mean is hard to see but im sure in real life was worst... all those men in power positions abused her and that's a fact told by Norma herself and all the Historians and Marylin biographers...
But not like this
Let the woman rest in peace. God bless her pour soul 🙌🏽☦🙏🏽
