Hi Tom, good tip for prepping and painting MDF. MDF can be tricky to paint and get the finish and the other thing with MDF is choosing a clear varnish to keep the MDF look. As always a great video, Take care
Hi, I'm glad you liked the video. I have to be honest I have never varnished MDF. I have clear varnished plywood a lot, but I have never been asked to do it to MDF, but there's always the first time. As always thanks for watching
I have to be honest. I have used wall paint before and had a good result. Just make sure you use a good undercoat first to stop the yellow staining coming through. Thanks for watching
Yes you can do a lot of the painting before you assemble the cabinets. The only problem is if you are screwing them together from the outside. You will need to fill and sand down the holes making it look patchy!
This tutorial is just what I needed. Thank you 🙂
I'm glad I could help! Thanks for watching

I really don't see who would want to show raw MDF cabinets, even in a shop.
Very nice. You do mention the paint has to be wood paint. It's not suitable to use regular wall paint, right, it was to be wood specific?

Thanks for the tutorial. Do you only paint the one side?
I would paint one side let it dry then flip it over and do the other side
I was wondering how did u paint the cabinets in the previous video after they have been assembled, any thoughts on that?
Hi exactly how I demonstrated painting in this video is how I did the cabinets. A brush and a small roller that's it rubbing down between coats
@@TomMagicWoodworking Would it be easier to paint them all before assembling them? Or should we be assembling first please?

@@TomMagicWoodworking Oh I see, I think I will do one of each and see which works best. Thanks for replying! Great video, very helpful.
I find the microfiber rollers or close pile give a better finish than the foam rollers.
I think it depends on the paint alot but I have had better results with the foam roller when I lighty apply the paint. Thanks for watching
cost saving $$$, before 2025 I feel lucky to watch this method
glad I could help and thanks for watching
