    Great game and editing as usual! Really enjoyed the match-up, haven't tried it myself yet, it seems to be really explosive towards the end. Also big LOL at Houdini being a solo fighter 🤣 I too can't find much of a use for Bess, such a wasted potential

      Thanks! It did devolve into a bit of a brawl at the end there. Ah Bess… I suppose the show is indeed all about him!

      Bess can hit for a potential, unexpetect, 7 value attack. Never understimate Bess

    I don´t get how to play against daredevil, it feels like he can play his cards over and over again, even if you manage to feint his devils of hell´s kitchen he takes them back again

    • @RecursionCafe

      He can recur very well, but he does have weaknesses. He has no card draw, so heavy aggression and action gain works well. Forcing discards is also good

      In my experience, on order to defeat daredevil, you have to start looking at the battle from his perspective. Knowing when the DOHK is coming is important, and you can sometimes figure it out based on the top four cards of his deck. Are they good in the matchup? Would he want to recur at this point in the battle? Even experienced Daredevil players will occasionally get blind sighted by having 2 breathers and the other DOHK in their top four, and will make a move that you can punish either now or later down the line. Additionally, unless you have a reason to believe that you can stop his infinite recursion, it is often better not to try to. When you see the DOHK coming, consider a card like skirmish instead of faint, saving yourself 2 points of health. Often times, due to the current state of the match, a Daredevil player will go for a recursion on cards that they don’t actually want in the matchup, so I would advise you just let them do so. If you can recognize their errors when they can’t, you can often either get off a big punish well after the error or continually force them into mildly annoying positions as you chip away at their health. I realize I play the game more competitively than most, but at least some of this should still apply at a casual level. I can’t provide anymore advice that isn’t matchup-specific, but I hope you found something helpful.

    This was a match that I really enjoyed. This is a matchup that I find to be fairly map-dependent, but the one you chose seemed to make it pretty even. I was a bit surprised by how aggressively you played daredevil, but I think I can understand why, at least from a tempo perspective. This was very cool to see, especially sense I myself don’t know a good Houdini player (nor am I one), so it was nice to see how someone else played the character.

      Glad you liked the video! From my reasoning, Houdini can engage whenever he wants to and has the ability to ping effect damage at will. So I have to make each attack that I do get to make count and not take too much damage from his attacks to drop below a certain threshold. The only way to do that is to play at low hand size.
      That and I’ve really been enjoying playing Daredevil like that recently! Yeah, Dan piloted Houdini nicely

    Did I understand correctly? The After Combat of Devil of Hell's Kitchen brings back also itself and the card it was boosted with plus 2 cards from the Discard Pile? Referring to 9:35 :)

    • @RecursionCafe
      @RecursionCafe  5 месяцев назад

      Yes, Devil states specifically to recur itself as well as four other cards. Any cards blind boosted go into the discard pile during combat, which get shuffled after combat
