2:05 : "A 1900 lb. car made of strips of 2ga steel." Hmmmm... 2ga steel weighs 10.63 lb/sqft. Surface area of the body (less floor) assuming general dimensions of a Beetle (est.) 4'h x 5'w x 13' long = 144 sqft x 10.63 lbs = 1531 lbs for the body alone leaving 369 lbs for chassis, suspension, interior, engine, (and whatever an "armature" is). Even removing some of that square footage for windows, that's a a little light for a car MADE OF 2 GAGE STEEL! Modern cars are made of steel around 2.5 lbs (16ga) per sqft..Maybe thinner. If there's someone out there who is as bored as I am that wants to show me where my numbers are wrong, lemme hear from you.

All good works of art...especially love the "boat car". A few years back there was a competition for the most fuel efficient, safe, road worthy vehicle...with a prize of 10 million to the winner. I believe the MIT students won that one. The wooden jag would of given them a run for sure, though.
I liked No. 3 - the filigree VW Beetle - but I did wonder - "The metalwork was so precise that the window glass could be refitted ..." - was that to keep the draughts out?
#11 - Carthedral... The front of that hearse is 1971, but those fins and rear quarter panels are 1959... which was an awesome choice, considering the theme of the car.
