  • Blender is really good at archviz, but the archimesh tool for rooms and walls is super inefficient, if only there was a better way...

    Hello @Dude_Blender. How do I correct the axis for an imported 3d house plan/render via .obj? The rear of the house is oriented down essentially on the Y axis.

    • @Dude_Blender
      @Dude_Blender  Месяц назад

      Hey mate, yeah objs usually face the wrong direction in import but you can just select the whole thing with A then rotate it with R in the correct axis (press x, y or z to constrain) then just type the number of degrees, 90 most likely. Also make sure that the scale of the model is correct and if not, scale it down with S. Let me know if that helps!

      Hadn’t encountered that before, are all of the walls on the same mesh? If not, try to apply the scale to all of your walls’ meshes with ctrl+a

    Such a great tutorial, but I don't understand wich way the walls should point, like is 1 room blue and another is red or how do I figure this out?

      Hey dude! The idea is that all of the exterior of the building is blue. Since some walls are shared by different rooms, it’s impossible to have all rooms inside of the same color, but you should look at where the errors are when you turn on the solidify modifier and change those walls. Does it make sense?

    My floor is not covering the entire area of where my floor should go even though I have all bottom vertices selected :(

    • @Dude_Blender
      @Dude_Blender  3 дня назад

      That’s sooooo hard to know why based on that description. Did you select them all and made a face? Did you add a subdivision modifier? Or a solidify? Did you scale the floor or walls? Maybe the easiest thing is to delete the floor and create it again by duplicating the vertices.

      hey mate, honestly you can use any site that pops up in google when you search for "floor plan designer" (smartdraw, floorplaner, floorplancreator, etc). they all offer free versions and are quite easy to learn.

    hello, tried your method but somehow when doing the solidify modifier the walls get all Wonky" even with the faces all blue and the even thicness on. Do you have any suggestions? Thanks

    • @Dude_Blender
      @Dude_Blender  11 месяцев назад +1

      Hey Noemia, sure! If you can share a screenshot I can tell you exactly what happened, but if not, 90% chance is 1) somehow you got doubled vertices somewhere, 2) some walls are still facing the wrong way. To fix 1: select all vertices with A, then M>>by Distance. To fix 2: turn off the solidify modifier to see the orientation of the walls, you want to try to have most (or all, when possible) walls inside closed rooms be red. Let me know if this helps!

    • @Dude_Blender
      @Dude_Blender  11 месяцев назад +1

      Note that if you have the solidify modifier ON, everything will look blue, you need to turn it off to see the orientation. So what I do is turn it on to see where there are bad walls, then turn it off to work on them.
