Wow. How disappointing it would be during the holidays , to open up the SAME item 1, 2, 3, 4 times . A calendar NEEDS to have a different item in each day, and should start smallest , less expensive, etc, and get better with every other day opened.
To be honest it is not Lindt that is scamming you , it is Costco they will have got then for £80 wholesale then marked them up to make a profit just like most supermarkets do.
The UK charges 20% VAT for chocolates. The cost of the calendar is only 150 pounds. The 30 pounds for VAT doesn't go to Lindt or Costco, but to the UK government. If you buy this elsewhere, it might be a better deal. I think in France, the VAT for food is only 10-5.5% depending on the food.
You're so right! it is upsetting that especially for the occasion of Christmas, Lindt couldn't offer something amazing! hey ho... I was willing to spend the money!
Do you work for them, or they paid you to write that. It's a fricking joke so many repetitive items. Really crap I will boycott lindt from here on in its plain scamming
@hunkhk ... nope, don't work for them. Yes, I get the "outrage." Not cool. I liked the video cause I thought this guy was funny to watch his reaction to each door 😂. That's it. It's just chocolate. Not that serious!
@ljupkadobrosavljevic8267 ... LOL ok well... you go ahead and let it be serious to you then. Read carefully before you post on something you didn’t understand. But let me simplify for ya.... I LIKED THE VIDEO, GUY WAS FUNNY, CHOCOLATE IS GOOD, WAS FUN TO WATCH HIM OPEN......THAT'S ALL! 😄 With all the REAL serious stuff we have going on in the world, I'm sorry chocolate is so upsetting to you. Take a deep breath, it's ok 👍
A scam. Also... in the US there is a class action case against a number of chocolate brands including Lindt for bringing chocolate with high levels if lead and cadmium on the market.
Not that this adds much value but I noticed a lot of them have a charm on them which they dont have default so I wonder if they're claiming the charms are worth something like if they're gold plated or something.
Cool video I love the chocolate bears. They probably expect people to give it as a gift and never know that they paid a lot more than the items are worth.
It costs 150 pounds. VAT is 20% which is 30 pounds. VAT doesn't go to the company, but to your government. Where I live, we only have 12% VAT. I'd say if you buy this in a country with no VAT for chocolates, or lower than 20% VAT, then it could be a good deal. Yeah, 50 pounds is still a lot of money if the cost of everything is only 100, but if you're buying this for all of your nephews and nieces, or for a large extended family, then it will save you the time it takes to buy several other gifts, plus transportation, plus wrapping paper, plus the time and labor to wrap everything, and the cost of your time and labor. So, you can just buy this and say, "Here you go. You can just figure out for yourselves who gets what, or maybe just share everything."
@@louiseoakes776 No, I meant if you lived in that other country with the lower VAT. France also has Costco. They only have I think 5% VAT for chocolates, not sure.
I was gonna get one but not now, I was waiting for an ornament or even a mug , something other than same duo over and over , am not fan of dark chocolate or hazelnut but it's a surprise in every section I guess , glad I didn't order one
Agreed. I would still keep the charms though and put them on a miniature tree. I would be over the moon with this as a gift overall. Agreed more variety needed - instead of all the Santa's, have Mrs. Clause and a male and female elf. Swap a few of the reindeer out for some other Lindt products or limited edition exclusives. Eg. Christmas theme bauble and ornament. Even a mug with Lindt logo on it. It would be worth the cost then.
I bought the regular Lindt Advent Calendar. It was retailed for $20 Cdn. (Was used to be around $13 before pandemic...) But got it on blackfriday for $13. (40% off)
I think Lind hasn't have that many different products for the calendar without repeting any. Unlike you, I think advent calendars always give you less than you pay. They aren't worthy most of them. Anyway, at least, it's chocolate! Thanks for the video!
Not only there are lead and other elements inside their chocolate, not top of the line ingredients just better than average , absurdly expensive ,they do shrinkflation And now this , this is exactly why everyone hates corporate people should understand writing french made , swiss made or italian made doesn't mean it is a nice product The craftsmanship and materials used determine its quality even if it is made in china
It's not, you never get exact costs (or more "value") with advent calendars. Usually you spend $10-ish dollars for a mere $1 worth of chocolate...and packaging...You're never getting more than your money's worth... But, the expense is in or should be in the experience and marvel - a daily little surprise. Imagine a family doing this together... And there's a little bit (and probably enough) for everyone.
Yeah that sucks. I could only find U.S. prices and it came to a value of $196.25 or £153.99 so quite a bit short of the £179 investment. Very disappointing.
FYI I’m from 🇨🇦 & our Lindt costs a lot more. I did purchase an empty special box to create a beer advent calendar & with shipping, handling, taxes cost $56.48 from Amazon. You should factor the cost of the huge special advent box which did look like they made sure the chocolate wasn’t damaged in transit.
@@hunkhk yes Americans are loud I am one and can agree with that, I've met a few Brits in my life and they were loud or at least to me they were that's why I said that, it also could have been that his mic wasn't working well which made him sound like he was shouting. Currency exchange is different most countries. Australia is closer to the US and a lot of those choc boxes go for similar here. $12 - $14 Sometimes there's a deal and they go down to $8.
By the ways guys, so far I have made £61.15 from the views on this video 🤣 Thankyou all! ❤
You're so stingy, dude. each discovery with "I won't buy THIS for THAT" . Don't be that cheap ! chill !
That bunny was a reindeer in disguse.
It is from their Easter chocolate.
Lindt should be fully ashamed. Wow.
I genuinely agree! to have only £100 worth of chocolate in a £180 advent calendar is shameful. it has tarnished my opinion of the brand!
All advent calendars are like that.
@@zyxw2000 No, they aren't.
At least you helped others know not to throw all that money away. 😊

Don't get the Avon advent calendar then. It's wax melts, candles Reed diffuser. Only 12 days as well, I was hoping for a lipstick or some perfume
To be honest it is not Lindt that is scamming you , it is Costco they will have got then for £80 wholesale then marked them up to make a profit just like most supermarkets do.

Yes, their apology is we don‘t make the final price, the supermarket does. 🫥🙄
80 quid of chocolate missing. I hate these greedy companies.
I think every advent calendar’s shouldn’t have any repeats in them. A lot of advents do it.
There are no "deals" anymore. Companies use the holidays to jack up the price and lessen the amount of their goods. We're all tired of it 😮💨
You're so right! it is upsetting that especially for the occasion of Christmas, Lindt couldn't offer something amazing! hey ho... I was willing to spend the money!
Never seen a bunny with antlers 😂😂😂😂thank you for sharing, I'm so happy I didn't buy one
Jackalope?
@furbysmith3240 🤣🤣🤣
it is actually rare to find an advent calendar that has contents worth more than the price of the calandar, especially with chocolate!
I actually liked this video. I was excited to see each door. Lindt is my FAVORITE, so I'd be happy with it all. Thanks for letting us in on it!

Everything that was in the calendar was drawn on the box. No surprises.
People usually don't look for spoilers. And it is suprise if you pay for something more than it is worth.
everytime you say bunny i..😂😂
The bunny was a jackalope
It’s a reindeer
Are you from Wyoming?
@ no Illinois
@ I know the WY jackalope is quite famous. That is why I wondered.
In American Costco‘s or Sam’s Club’s, you can return anything even if it’s opened or halfway used. I say you return the thing.

@Rainbowheart369 that would be awesome
You got your pound to dollar exchange wrong. The sign said it cost $149.99, switching to the american dollar would be $191.11. Only a $50 difference.
That’s before VAT! The actual price of the calendar was £179.99

No
that was NOT the iconic lindt rabbit (door #4) its a reindeer

I love lint chocolate
add in the money for the name brand and the novelty of a giant chocolate advent calendar. Chocolate is getting expensive, too.

You have to consider the cost of making the cardboard calendar etc. They need to make a profit to pay their employees…..I think it’s a great calendar.
They are already expensive, don't need to make moneyon packaging.
