- Passport Mistakes: Part 2! (Plus a Passport HACK!)
Most countries require you to have at least 2 to 4 stamp-free pages in your passport in order to travel.
I know I have pages wasted on that one rogue stamp thrown in there all willy nilly.
Help keep your stamps where they belong by using a paper clip or rubber band to separate your stamp-free passport pages from your stamped pages.

not a good idea imo. It will look suspicious to most customs agents and they will remove everything to verify you are not hiding anything.
Yes of course they will remove the clip but that’s when I politely ask they stamp the other pages before stamping the blank ones. It’s not for everyone but it’s worked nicely for me when I’ve used it. Safe travels!
@@gotravelwithstaci obviously this doesn't apply on black and browns.😅

Customs agents don’t like things interfering with the document scanner. Probably wondering what you’re trying to hide from them
My experience is that they take it off, review my passport, and hand it all back to me without issue.

Why no use e-gates
@@odzergaming Not all countries facilitate e-gates and not all passports are eligible 🙃
How to pull aside for an interrogation with this one simple trick:
yup
Tip: wait for the stamp to dry after the agents had stamped your passport
Most customs agents would just stamp around the stamp.... I have pages with 5+ stamps.
No i have 2 stamps from a country each one in a page. The others are at the same page
Depends on each country an border agent,i have pages with 5-6 stumps nicely put and 2 pages in which they stamped in the middle of the page.@khaledbaadarani
yeah really depends on the agent you get. Now I use a sticky note with a nice message to keep fully clear pages clear, if possible.
I go through E-gates
nereye gittiğine bağlı türkiyede fark ettiysen yeni pasaport al diye ortasına açılı basıyorlar resmen
Yep I do this every where I go except the US! I got asked lots of questions about why I did it when I went through SFO. And then when I did it going through JFK the guy literally yelled and told me not to do this ever again in America if I wanted to get through 👀👀👀. Not sure why it is they have corks up their asses but they question you in the US more than any other country jeez
haha I haven't had any issues doing this but I'm waiting for that one grumpy person to make a big deal of it. That said, I do have Global Entry and rarely have to actually have interactions with US agents anymore. If they'd just stamp in order, that would clear up any future issues lol
@@gotravelwithstaci oh cool that sounds good, what is global entry ?

Custom agents don't get trained to know this??🤔🤨
2 to 4 blank pages, 6 months before expiry. After C-vid it makes you wonder if they actually want anyone traveling at all...
Customs/Immigration in a different country, especially, stamp where they want. It is not for the traveller to make the “decision” where stamps are to be affixed, surely one can ask but fixing a paper clip won’t serve as a binding guidance. Sounds kinda entitled that one should make this decision for them, it is their country and they make the rules; it’s not for jokes that they require a certain number x of pages for stamps upon entry, when they require at least 1 page that is empty surely they have the right to stamp right in the middle of it, one should go about this proactively by ordering a passport with more pages.
update...instead of using paperclip....cuz they will just remove it cuz it maybe suspicious to them....use those sticky strip page markers...put it on the pg u want it on....they can flip through it real fast...then find that marker fast like...
I started using a post it note that says "please don't stamp this page" . You can remove it easily and see behind it. Extended my last passport by two years. I would not use a rubber band. Ex iron curtain countries really like stamping the back of the book and that could frustrate them
love the post-it idea!
you may use a pencil and slightly draw a cross on the visa page to make up quadrants for them to stamp
I can’t find part one of this series even after going through all your shorts. 🤷🏻♀️ thanks!
Same. Was that on purpose???
Good advice . They did that to me when I went to China and Hong Kong a few years ago . I’m going to Poland in august and luckily I still have enough pages.
Oh that’s awesome!
Don’t you have 50 pages ?
Lots of negative comments! If you don’t want to follow the tip then don’t
Haha my thoughts exactly 😂
In a new Canadian passport bio page is made of hard plastic and visa pages are made from polymer paper. Those stamps don’t dry fast enough. You can erase them and reuse the page. 🤣
This is a bad idea for some countries. If you’re let’s say Austrian and you have a stamp from a sanctioned country, you’re banned from the American visa weaver program
Hi James and welcome! Yes of course, and immigration will see this when they look through your passport. It’s up to the traveler to know what stamps they can and cannot have before attempting entrance to another country.
.
Wow!
Very helpful
Good advice!! Thnx!
You bet!
Good information thanks
Anyone get annoyed when they don’t stamp when you go to a different country? 😭😂 I went to France, but also went to Germany, Belgium, Austria, and Italy. And I got annoyed that they didn’t stamp, because I had the French stamp already when I went from LAX to CDG in Paris 😭😂
Every pages gets stamped. Even overlapping stamps
Yes and that is why I ask them to please stamp in order and not bounce around.
Where is part one??!?!
I open my passport on a page already with stamps and point, yet they still go to a blank page
Haha typical 🤪
Ahaahah the way you delivered the guidelines
Sometimes they stamp the same spot as the previous travel stamps😂
lol I know, right!?! I just went through immigration in Paris and liked that they asked ME to open my passport to a blank space. I got to fill in a blank space that keeps getting missed without starting on a new page.
@@gotravelwithstaciwhy not use E-gates

That’s really useful ❤ But what if Immigration just opens your passport without seeing this pin?😢😅 And also if you have stamps which you don’t want to show or you don’t want to use that page you can easily do this thing 😊 That’s really a good way ❤
I think US customs agents are bad for this.
But i mostly travel within Schengen area so i rarely get a stamp but that might change as i have UK passport and now we lost freedom of travel i picked up a couple of stamps!
Dammit! My pages were nice to look at
Tell a customs agent of any place how to stamp
Or where to stamp
See what happens
I did a couple of times when I had a passport running out of free pages, and they have been very kind to put the stamps in small gaps in used pages.
That’s bad advice - it will interfere with scanning equipment, raise suspicions with the immigration officials and you’ll spend more time at the border control answering questions. You really don’t want that when travelling abroad on a tight schedule
It won't raise suspicions trying to keep them stamping in order.
Nowadays many countries use e-gates so i rarely run into the problem where i dont have enough pages for stamps
Yes I am seeing this more and more, as well.
Love my American passport so fancy 🇺🇸❤️
Thank you
You’re welcome
DONT DO THAT, not only it will be removed because the pasport first is scanned through scanner, but you will be questioned maybe detained, just ask nicely the customs agent, also when you give the pasport to the agent remove any cover, its also doesnt let them scan it, you can store the pasport with a cover but when you travel dont.
In all my years, I've never had a problem. Likewise, you could use a sticky note instead.
@gotravelwithstaci I happy that it went smoothly for you, I travel a lot and most of the customs officers goes throw all the pages, most of the stamp really considerably, only some countries like US,UK and turkey stamp on the middle (and I have a strong passport) the cover for passport I saw multiple times how officers asked to remove it and really get frustrated about the cover, so i personally use the cover to store the passport but in the airport without it.
I have a cover for my passport since I travel a lot and don't want it to look like garbage after one year. I tuck the clean pages in the sleeve. Doesn't matter. Some simply stamp from the beginning, some from behind. Latter more common in Middle Eastern region (in a wide sense of this word, not only muslim countries). So far nobody stamped randomly in the middle.
Oh good! My last passport had stamps all over the place but this current one is much more in order. Happy travels!
Don’t put paperclips and rubber bands. It means you’re trying to give a bribe. In some countries where bribery is more common you basically tricked them that they think they’re getting a bribe but you have them nothing and will give you a hard time
i am from and i have made more than 50 international trips i have never had a stamp which took an entire page...the closest was in malayasia where he stamped it in the middle but the remaining part of that very page was stamped again
I don't think any stamps are as big as the page
Visas typically take entire page, but not the entry / exit stamps
Ugh 😣 I can’t stand Willy Nilly placed stamps. They piss me off sooo much.
POV you're Syrian and you don't have any of your pages stamped cause no one is willing to let you travel to their country T.T
ill nvr have a passport but thats rlly good to know....

I can't find rubber band and paper pin
Try a sticky note instead
Aoa brothers,
My cousin who is going abroad first time accidently signed on the last page of visa on passport and also signed correctly on the 2nd page where required, so does this mean his passport is damaged or no?
Your cousin needs to contact their passport agency to inquire.
They check previous stamps match there computer records so leave all pages clear.

I've never had my passport stamped. Where does this happen?
Have you travelled overseas? Europe is one place for example. When you enter a foreign country, many times they'll stamp passport to know when you entered their country.
More places are doing e-visas so stamping isn't as frequent as it used to be. That said, if you travel internationally, not on a cruise ship, you should get a stamp showing your travel visa- permission to enter the country.
Cool🆒

Hello Good morning
Hello
This is not true, my previous passport had overlapping stamps and all pages filled, never had any issues.
An American passport cannot continue to travel with all pages filled.
You said most passports, not American. I've never heard of this issue with anyone. I traveled all across Europe with multiple people from different nationalities and never heard anyone be rejected because of too many stamps.
@@macky181 The rule is that most countries do have a minimum number of clear, unstamped visa pages free in your passport to enter their country and travel. The average number I see across the globe is 2, but some countries require as many as 6. Best practice is to have 2-4 free pages when traveling and to research the country beforehand to ensure you have enough for their requirements. A quick internet search will bring you to this information.
@@gotravelwithstaci it's ok, I'll take life experience over a little google search, blank pages in your passport is like jaywalking it's not enforced.
