    To add... The 3.5mm pre-out is not a real pre-out. It is just a pass through. It will not control the volume of other devices in the chain. You stated it clearly. The V3 is a power amp and not an integrated amp. You can use the 3.5mm as an input as well and use the RCA as output. It is basically a Y cable. The V3 doesn't even need to be powered on for this signal to pass through to the next device. Again... Excellent video.

      @YuriBrus  Год назад

      Thank you for the additional insights and appreciation! You're absolutely correct - the 3.5mm pre-out is intended as a pass-through feature, lacking full pre-out capabilities such as volume control. Its purpose might be to connect an active subwoofer, with an independent crossover and volume control, or even a headphone amp. Thanks again, your support means a lot.

    OK, first... Thanks for the video. I will probably make several comments. First. You have those speakers toed in. Try pointing them outward a bit. This has much to do with your soundstage width. Also, I suggest swapping out the op-amps for either a set of Sparkos SS3602's or a set of Burson V5i. Even the Burson V6 lineup will improve this amplifiers output.
    Aside from that. The production value of your video is quite good. You are clear and articulate. A joy to watch and listen... Well done!

    • @YuriBrus
      @YuriBrus  Год назад

      Thanks for the feedback! I appreciate your advice regarding the speaker placement - toed in vs. pointing outward definitely impacts the soundstage width, and I'll certainly experiment with that. I'll also look into your recommendations for op-amp upgrades; they sound like promising options to further enhance the amplifier's output quality. Your appreciation for the production value means a lot to me.
      Have a great day and best regards, Yuri

    Leuke review. Kreeg net de FOSI AUDIO MC 101 binnen. Voor 80 euro op de mat. Met Bluetooth 5.3, prima toon regeling en logaritmische volumeregeling. Prachtige performance. Zeer goede klank. Stuurt zomaar grote luidsprekers aan, zonder problemen. Hóe kan dat. Voor een paar tientjes?

    With the 32 v power supply, I felt the bass was leaving significantly. Going to use the 48v adapter in the coming week. Upper registers are faithfully reproduced to an extent.

      @@YuriBrus hi there. Excellent power and bass with the 48v. Still have to take it almost at full volume but sound is perfect. Not as good as my Burson audio monoblocks but then they're 4000 dollars more! Yikes! Using a Vincent preamp and quite pleased.

    Probably a silly question, but I have 2 subs im trying to hook up to this, do I use speaker wire to connect to the outputs (do the output accept wire or do I need a special connection) or is there a plug that adapts to just speaker wire. I don’t have the amp yet,

    I get pretty good soundstage width using the V3 in my desktop setup, my speakers are mostly facing to the front, so not toed in towards me as much. It might be worth a try? It works with my speaker at least, thats how I personally enjoy it the most. But its obviously all personal preference!

      @YuriBrus  Год назад +2

      Thanks for sharing your experience, @danielh12345! It's great to hear that the V3 has delivered a good soundstage width in your desktop setup. Your approach of having the speakers mostly facing forward, rather than toed in, usually works well in that regard.
      Have a great day and best regards, Yuri

    Thanks for the review. Here in the U.S. the Fosi is offered with either a 32 volt or 48 volt power supply. What power supply does your unit have and thoughts on either power supply? Thanks

    • @YuriBrus
      @YuriBrus  Год назад +2

      Hello! I currently have the 32-volt power supply, but I'm considering upgrading it soon. I'm exploring options like aftermarket power supplies or even the 48-volt version from Fosi Audio. It's worth noting that even with the 32-volt version, the performance is quite impressive.

    It's a shame that this explosion of interest in inexpensive high-end audio didn't take off about a generation ago because there was a company called Dared that made absolutely spectacular-sounding gear in a slightly higher price point and I was a proud owner who misses that stuff very much.

    Want to know what the TPA3255 chip can really do?
    Hook the V3, A07, TB10D, etc. up to a pair of proper floor standing speakers..
    Uh Huh....
    With the base 32 volt supply you're getting a genuine 55 RMS watts per channel, with 0.01% distortion on 8 ohms and 100 per channel on 4. With the 48 volt supply that jumps to 110 and 200. (The 300 watts spec is at 10% distortion)
    The TPA3255 Class D chip was initially developed for powered speakers and sound reinforcement duties in the pro-audio world. You will also find it in high-end Home Theatre gear, high end stereo and a growing herd of DIY modules. The simplicity of the surrounding circuitry, low cost, and mass production have made it a favourite for less costly home stereo use as well.
    Small amp does not mean small speakers!

      Don't expect some magical transformation.
      It's only a 3db increase, in terms of loudness that will be barely noticeable.
      The amplifier's gain does not change with voltage. If you set your system to play at (say) 55db then plug in the 48 volt supply you will still get 55db.
      What you will get is more headroom for transients like snare drum or gunshots and you will be able to turn the volume all the way up without audible distortion.
      For more details search for "TPA3255 data sheet" ... figure 8 (page 11) shows power vs voltage at 1% distortion.
