Can you please do a re-review of the Sony MDR-1A since that was 4 years ago? I want to see what you think of them now that you've had the chance to hear these and the cd900st.
Let me cut to the chase. At 26:02 he picks the CD900st as his favorite. The other 26 minutes prior to that he is trying to decide if he can even pick one over the other and why.
I swear that he WAS in remission - tighter, more concise vids - but clearly the rants get the views. Something tells me that a lot more of us will have a lot more time to watch ~50 minute rants over the next 12-18 months :(

I have both. My pick is DT770 Pro 250 Ohms for mixing, and M70x for music. I will keep CD900ST for guest performers, and M1ST will be in my bag, ready for gigs. - CD900ST is not for music because I listen loud, and it causes ear fatigue. It might be good if you listen to delicate details especially at low or moderate volumes. - M1ST lacks top frequencies, but it might be suitable for mixing because everything sounds close and meaty. The sound follows the knobs wherever it goes. It might be helpful for mixing fundamental tracks, then check air frequencies on speakers later. It might be good for rhythm instruments, bass and electric guitar monitoring also. That's because it's groovy and it makes the rhythm sounds alive.
