Aussie Bro's........An American here. I started following this series in 2010. And it's because of races like this. Going back to years of racing I never got to witness , I am 100% positive this is the best 4 wheel series on earth! You guys should be proud , because even an American like myself , after 15 years.......am hooked!
I agree with some of the other people in this comment section - why has this not been uploaded in full? We were promised every Supercars championship race from 1997-2014 would be uploaded as part of Superarchive, and yet it fizzled out and the fans were never provided any explanation or a hint of clarity. How hard is it to provide an update?
Another example of Holden's dominance at Bathurst throughout the late 1990s and early 2000s as well as more broadly throughout those particular seasons in general. Mark Skaife would've been beginning to reach the peak of his career by that time. Garth Tander claiming his first Bathurst win in the 2000 FAI classic. Skaifey taking out the shell championship for that year. Not sure if the Bathurst 1000 event for that year was the last round or not. It would've been the last enduro event for that year though. Someone might like to enlighten me on whether that was the case for either of the two questions i've put forward regarding the 2000 Bathurst 1000.
Yes, Bathurst was the final round of the championship that year - Tander was the closest contender to Skaife for the championship but Skaife was so far ahead on points that all he had to do was finish Bathurst within the top 17 and it was his, but for Tander to take the championship, he would have to come first (which as you saw he did) and Skaife would have to finish outside the top 17 but Skaife/Lownes finished in 6th position .. Fun fact: In the press conference after the race, Tander said jokingly: "I kept my end of the bargain but Mark didn't keep his end." (hence costing Tander the championship) Tander also joked about how they won the race despite "having to keep putting in the baby seat for Jason (Bargwana)" every time they swapped driving - there being a substantial difference in their height. I worked at that event for IMG Qld (who had taken over from ARDC) and I sat just behind the camera crew at the press conference .. I had my own analogue camcorder but I was told I'm not allowed to do any filming. I wish I'd camouflaged it and snuck in sneaky recording but I was too scared of getting busted and losing my job 😂
@@oliverrees433 it's just great to hear them being excited and bring the big moments up with them instead of what we have now, large periods of silence and a rush to forensically analyse the incident that's happening in the calmest and dullest way possible *Shrug* I just don't get what they're thinking when the commentary is making things boring rather than trying to reflect the excitement of the sport

I am thinking it's the headlight switch mate. He passed a lapped car just after and not many cars had a "flash" light on the steering wheel in those days.

@MotorSport33-f5u it isn't change that I don't like. It's just nascars made for road Australia, I haven't whatched anything since the change, USA junk mate, not true rivals. And now the rules are through the roof, there are no battles over who tuned the best car now, it's who's car can withstand the race. Pfffffffy fk the chev and craptangs
Nothing other than the look of the car is American, these race cars today are as Australian built as anything before it. We’re still manufacturing stuff as race teams down here so id suggest your comment is misguided.
Being totally honest with you, the Mustang and Camaro have been in the sport before when you look at it's history, maybe not as major as the Falcon and Commodore (I'd agree in a heartbeat to come back) so I don't see a problem with it, however, if you wanted to see Australian cars again like the Falcon or Commodore, you should start advocating for it, I know the gov are like dragging a dog near water and they're too lazy relying on imports but at the end of the day, this is not V8 Supercars' fault, this is all the government's fault.
They tried to paint radisich as a ford hero, and all he ever did was crash cars and break ya heart. Ironically his only memorable win came right after he'd crashed a car again.
@KBEXAU ambrose gave the au fan hope in 02. Sandown 01 is a good watch because it's the green eyed monster and the pirtek falcon fighting for the win. Don't remember the rat winning 2 many races other than the Queensland 500 when he won in the dirt. Such a rat win. I think he won a few rounds of the vb challenge...
@@falconmclenny7284 I think besides the non champs rounds he won 3 at barb and 1 at Easten Creek and if skaife never existed ambrose would've won a few more

Please show the full race of this, I've waited ages to see this one, I'd love to see the 2008-2010 series in full as well.
What a glorious era, I miss it so much
94 to 2016. That was when the pretend cars started right, 2017?
How about posting the entire race like you SAID you'd do 4 years ago.....
I agree
You have been keeping tabs on this for 4 years?

More of this era!
Just upload the whole race..
Both our cars are in this race...... after some earlier drama....
So glad Garth won this, but can’t help but feel incredibly gutted for Longhurst and Besnard, among many others

Thanks for this, noting its the widesceen version which is great! Any chance of the full race please?
Isn't the commentary so much better with a lead and analyst instead of now with Crompton trying to do both... And falling between two stools
Absolutely though I reckon this is two leads actually! Greg Rust and Mark Oastler doing some of their best work!

Love how that car was parked up after the race and left as it was from that day. One of the only cars to do that for bathurst
Bring back this era. It's dead now

Probably roll bar or brake bias mate.
