Wish all the best for Pete Jr managing TD1. I was diagnosed with TD2 IN March 2024. I had no idea that I was diabetic until I switched to Dr here in New Orleans from my old Dr in Philadelphia. Be well and stay safe all. Thanks, Paul.
Cool! My children and I will be anxiously awaiting your next videos traveling thru the east of Canada! I've only been from the west coast where we live to just north of Lake Ontario and also to Niagara Falls. Can't wait to see our beautiful Canada! God bless you each and good health to all, especially to you Pete. I hope you get your diabetes under control soon.
Its such a joy to see you all back together, and Peter’s recovery. I’m excited for your upcoming travels to eastern Canada . We’ve always enjoyed our own travels to Newfoundland and all of the maritimes such wonderful people and memories.
Back on the island yes! We're into Jeeps bigtime, but that cabin is awesome. I've been working on my boat all week, ready for camping and fishing. Thanks for sharing love Northern Ontario!
The snow dogs are pretty freaking cool. I have never seen them prior to your channel. We have sleds. But, when living on a lake they seem just perfect. Our sleds are fan cooled so unless there is snow, have picks or scratchers, our sleds can over heat quickly.
Pete so sorry to hear of your relapse in helth issues. You do such a great job of monitoring and treating the D1 keep up the great work! Glad to see y'all had a great time in San Antonio!! Such a pretty area and great mix of heritage. Dan can't wait to see your next adventure and getting the bikes back. The ice broke up so FAST! Hard to believe. We dont get lake ice in Texas and just very thin ice on stock ponds lol. As always thanks for allowing us a glimpse into your Epic life!!
So sorry to hear you wont be coming to Flagstaff. Was hoping to meet all of you (and most importantly Lando! 😉). But meanwhile we are looking forward to your travels thru Eastern Canada. That's on our list for next summer. Stay healthy. Safe travels. Hope to see you somewhere down the road.
I'm happy everyone is doing good, and Pete is recovering. Bombed to hear you're not going to be at expo west, it's my first time going and was pumped to meet you guys.
I’m so excited that your going to Explore Canada especially Ontario I’m so glad you’re back home safe and sound may God continue to bless you and protect you
The weather dictates the activities for the day. The Spring thaw brings out the boats and fishing. Looking over the heavy winter snow damage but all is good. Nice way to bring in the spring summer seasons, with a time for some calibration and a good-bye to Old Father Winter.
So you guys are now on the lake and it reminded me of one of your most influenced music artist of Canada I believe he was the Elvis and the Johnny Cash the Jim Croce a Canadian idle and a well versed songwriter to me it's almost too bad you can't play some his music in your Canada run now you're family have become Summer Day People
I hope you're recovering fast, Pete. I bet Lando misses the wide-open stretches of ice where he could rip along at full speed. Your trip through remote Canada sounds fascinating. Something fun to look forward to!
I have been a type one for over 35 years and the best advice to give you is to avoid the highs and lows of blood sugar control. It's the spikes that cause the problems to your health in the long run. Sounds like you are doing pretty good otherwise with your management. I finally received a pancreas only transplant and no longer have type one. 😊. Stay safe.
Good morning, Thankful all of you are doing okay. The winter was beautiful and now you are going to be traveling all over. May God Bless and keep you all safe!!!
Spring has arrived EFRT....yee haw, a new beginning, an invigorating time! Glad everyone is feeling better and Pete is doing well. San Antonio Riverwalk never disappoints, especially if you enjoy good food!!
Looking forward to seeing Dan and Pete back on the motorcycles. You two really seem to love riding! Be careful out there its not a competition. Don't want to see anymore injuries.
Another wonderful Sunday morning with the EFRT. Looking forward to seeing some of Canada through your eyes and excellent videography. Safe travels and best wishes.
Thank you for your continued exposure and sharing your family. I believe that sharing life with others is educational...glad Pete is feeling better. Being a surviving, older sibling of a Type 1 Juvenile diabetic brother, I know all to well, what a "non compliant" medical lifestyle leads to. Please take care of yourself Pete, as you know, its not something to play around with. God Bless...
We are jealous of your ice out....here in far NE Minnesoata we are STILL patiently waiting. Well wishes to Pete! My husband is also T1D and spied Pete's monitor during one of the very first episodes we watched. Cure T1D !We are HUGE fans....love your channel and share your love of the North Woods. ❤
So glad to hear that Pete is doing ok. I only have one son and it is scary when your child has medical issues. We all worry. I can see that your glad to be back home and it sounds like your going to have a new experience and fun trip going up into Canada. Can hardly wait for your trip. Take care folks. Sandy from OHIO
First and foremost, glad Pete is back on his game, can't wait for your next adventure. You might consider the DJI Mic wireless lavalier microphones, even if not directly being capture to your camcorder or DSLR camera, the audio is separately captured on the two mics and can be added in post editing.
Err good night/morning from your kiwiNZ famz, it’s 12:45am and it’s May the first for us, wow May already. How the days go by fast. Please take care of yourself Peter, my oldest brother has type 2 diabetes and he too has to watch his blood glucose levels and he always has jellybeans on standby on. Take care and stay safe famz❤❤❤❤❤
I pray that Pete is recovering well, because I’ve got friends with the same diabetes as Pete and one needs to take this very seriously. I’ll pray for Pete’s complete recovery. I’ve not seen your daughter on the last episodes so I hope she’s doing well. I just love your videos and look forward every Sunday to watch your program. I missed not seen your wife’s cooking on this video…I always salivate when I watch her cooking. Have a great week! Claudia
Yes, Pete is doing much better. Caroline is doing very well and has been on an extended trip with family and friends. We will make sure to cook something this week, just didn’t have time last week with everything going on. Thanks for watching and have a wonderful Sunday.
Exciting times ahead! Traveled all through Labrador with Jim Baird on his channel, but by different method of traveling! Can’t wait for you adventurous months ahead! Be safe!
I was soo looking forward to meeting you all. The family behind one of the best overlanding content on RUclips. My wife and I love your videos. Hopefully our paths will cross someday. We are looking forward to your Canada adventures. Take care and May God bless all your travels and family.
Another great video guys seems like just yesterday you put the boats away for the winner can’t believe how fast it went. Yeah, I’m bummed out too. I’m not gonna be able to make it to the Overland Expo in Flagstaff no reason to drive all the way out there and have to be back within a couple of days so I’m blowing it off for a while And my garage is slowly coming together. The plumbing is coming in first. Also the driveway anyway Pete take care of yourself. Ok 👌🏼🔥🤠🔥Camping Russ out
Yeah, I’ve just started putting away the cold weather gear. It’s been a cold spring - we had overnight ice in southern Missouri last week! One thing I forget is that I have to change the way I secure our cargo - no more winter insulation on jerrycans, extra blankets, etc. to hold everything still.
Somehow I don't think that fish on the boat represents Christianity , but it's still pretty neat . You sound like you are still under the weather ( a little sick ) hope both you and Pete jr. Get well soon . Can't wait to see Canada , you guys are awesome .
I've been watching the X Overland series with the kids. Great cinematography although I'm sure the camera doesn't do it justice. What beautiful island country. I'm glad Pete is on the mend and anticipating the Eastern Canada trip! Thanks folks!
20:47 I wonder if you screwed or tacked in furring strips then stapled the sheeting to that, if it would make it easier to remove? I just immediately thought about having to remove all those staples when I saw this 😊
The most remote road in North America...... So you are going to do the Trans Taiga in Northern Quebec. I did this trip from beginning to end In my Tank Green overland set up 2-door Jeep last year from the intersection of James Bay road (Billy Diamond highway) and Trans Taiga to Caniapiscau 750 KM's from the nearest town (Radisson) . Don't forget when you come back to go west and stay on the shores of James Bay it is so beautiful and remote up there . The Trams Taiga is a aggregate rough road , getting worse after Mirage outfitters , and getting worse yet again after Brisay , airing down is a must. When you reach the end Caniapiscau camp on the beach where there is lots of driftwood , at this point you are 750KM from the nearest town. Bring spare fuel , there is fuel at mirage 350km in and at the end at a fly in fishing place , there is fuel there , it isn't cheap though LOL!! but what are you going to do if you need fuel , you need fuel . Going up the Billy Diamond Highway (James Bay Highway) there is rough camping all the way up , with scenic lookouts at Rupert River and Eastmain River and other view points , some times you travel down this highway and don't see another vehicle for hour(s) and it is paved but rough as you go further north. When on the Trans Taiga there are many scenic overlooks , that are quite spectacular , with big beautiful views , needless to say the fishing is fantastic , the further east you go on the Trans Taiga , it goes from Pike and Pickerel(walleye) to Brook Trout and Atlantic salmon , at the right time of year and river , for the Salmon. The Trans Taiga is an adventure for sure , make sure the Jeeps are in good fettle , this road will pend them hard , bring some spares critical spares that could leave you in limp mode or stranded . I Brought spare starter motor , spare alternator , and engine sensors that could put you in limp mode , and a serpentine belt , and of course tools , in a tool roll . I meticulously maintain my Jeeps so there were no problems , the Jeep ran flawlessly as it always does , but you never know what can happen that far out. It was an incredible adventure . Stop in at the visitors centre in Radisson , if the same lady is working there (she is very nice and helpful) as last year , ask her about the Tank Green 2-door Jeep set up for overland travel from last year (me) , she will remember , we had quite the lengthy conversation and she got me some very helpful info , she got out some souvenirs that were hiding out in a drawer , this happened, because of all my questions , and her subsequent search for the info I was asking. This year I've built a JL Rubicon Unlimited for this and other trips , but this year I'm doing the same trip you guys did up through the Yukon and NWT to Tuktoyaktuk , then back down to Northern BC for some exploration. P.S. Don't forget to take a side track about 40 km north of Mirage , take the track on the left(there is a sign) going 60km to Mont Naappaayaakuuchii , it is a beautiful track that is like a roller coaster, past some beautiful Precambrian rock outcroppings and some beautiful rivers streams and lakes , don't miss that side route off of the Taiga. Cheers Wild Bill Overlanding the Boreal Forest and Taiga of Northern Ontario And Northern Quebec. Never stop exploring.
Wow, thank you for your detailed comment. We are literally going to print this comment as part of our trip planning booklet. We will make sure not to miss any of these points along the way. What time of year did you go? Camping on the shores of James Bay has been a bucket list item for a long time. I hope you have a blast heading up to Tuk.
@@EFRT Wow thank you , yes lots of scenic spots and overlooks....very , very , remote , I loved that feeling of being where few have been. I went in the summer June and July of last year , it was fantastic . Make sure you have (and I'm sure you do) bug jackets and lotions and sprays , I found that the Therma Cell helped a lot it takes a minute but it does keep 'em at bay. I have a question . In Northern Ontario and I'm sure in the Yukon and NWT and of course Northern BC . there will be plenty of remote camping spots , I'm not sure about Manitoba , Sask. and Northern Alberta , you guys obviously found spots that aren't camp grounds to camp in those places . Is it difficult to find off of the highway?? I have backroad map books for all of Northern Ontario , Northern BC , it's not hard to get remote in these places , just not sure about the in-between provinces to my destination exploration. Cheers, Bill.
@@billw6182 Yes they are a little harder to find in Manitoba Sask and eastern Alberta but we used the iOverlander app to find the ones we stayed at. The rest of the trip camping spots are easy to find, especially BC, Yukon and NWT.
Hello! Nice to see you ;-)! It's 14:10 in Augsburg and it's cool to see you again! I'm sitting at work and enjoy your Video! God bless you! Best greetings from Bavaria, Olli 😃
San Antonio is one of our favorite areas. So much to do there. We love the hill country, the Comal & Guadalupe rivers, Marble Falls and surrounding towns like Fredericksburg, New Braunfels etc. Its worth exploring if you never have. Love your show guys & exciting to see the eastern coast of Canada
How to plan an epic trip to the Canadian Maritimes. Last year I did it on my Ranger tug via the water. This year I will do it in my pop top RV planning on taking the ferry from cape Breton over to Newfoundland explore that island, then up to Labrador And across to Churchill Falls, then back to Quebec. Wonder if you would have a schedule of your whereabouts that we might rendezvous ?
I am glad that Pete and everybody else is feeling better. Did you put some fuel stabilizer in the Engines of the snow vehicles and let them run long enough to get that into the Carburetors? It will help to avoid fuel related storage problems and save you money in the long run. Safe travels!!
I love Spring and the renewal it brings. You guys have to be excited putting the boats in the water. I spend early May prepping my boat (a mahogany Chris Craft) for launch by Memorial Day weekend (in the US). I look forward to seeing the next adventure(s). Cheers-
Nice to see the ice out of the lake. I’m a little concerned about life jackets. Some of you weren’t wearing them and those who are don’t have them done up. Safety first.
Happy to hear Pete is recovering! Spring here in Colorado. Favorite time of year. Curious if you are familiar with the Bruce Peninsula in Southern Ontario? My husband and I backpacked there for 2 weeks on our honeymoon many years ago in early May. There was still snow on parts of the trail, but was a beautiful area.
5:24 Diabetes is a punk, it really is. I've been arguing with it since 2010 and so far winning the argument. Glad you're good brother Pete *Aroha nui Whanau ❤ (Big Love in Maori from Papamoa 🤙🏽)
Nice he had a long stretch managing his diabetes. It’s important he is on the mend. Nature’s magic…it melted. Would you ever stay at the cabin again some winter?
Pete, you still sound out of breath when talking. Take care of yourself. A good home remedy for sour throat and congestion is as follows: Equal amounts of Whiskey, Honey and Lemon juice. Keep some in the ice box, it works.
Wish all the best for Pete Jr managing TD1. I was diagnosed with TD2 IN March 2024. I had no idea that I was diabetic until I switched to Dr here in New Orleans from my old Dr in Philadelphia. Be well and stay safe all. Thanks, Paul.
It’s a great feeling after a long Winter to see that lake ice go out. Looking forward to your Summer fun.

Yes, we love Texas!! Beautiful country, great food, and great people.
Enjoy Canada, I sure want to head back up to NWT. Bummed you won’t be at Overland Expo.
I’m amazed at how quickly spring has come for you guys! Here in Minnesota the lakes are still frozen!? Crazy lol
Hope everything melts sooner than later for you guys.
I am glad that Pete and everybody else is feeling better. Did you put some fuel stabilizer in the Engines of the snow vehicles and let them run long enough to get that into the Carburetors? It will help to avoid fuel related storage problems and save you money in the long run. Safe travels!!
We will definitely do that before we cover the for the summer. 👍🏻
Epik awesome beautiful video
Awesome content!!! Thank you! Get well soon, Pete!! 🙏
Thank you.
I am from Newfoundland. Hope you guys have a good trip here
Can’t wait! 👍🏻
I love Spring and the renewal it brings. You guys have to be excited putting the boats in the water. I spend early May prepping my boat (a mahogany Chris Craft) for launch by Memorial Day weekend (in the US). I look forward to seeing the next adventure(s). Cheers-
That sounds like an awesome boat!
@@EFRT Merci.
Great stuff thanks a lot 😁
If you haven’t read Adam Shoalt’s excellent book “A History of Canada in Ten Maps,” this might be the time!
Thanks for the suggestion. We have his book “Beyond the trees” we’ll check this one out too.
Good morning!!
Good morning 👍🏻
god bless ur familys im from the philipeness
Thank you, and thanks for watching in the Philippines 🇵🇭
It doesn't seem possible that it is spring already. Seems like you were just yesterday waiting for the lake to ice over!!!
I know, time flies when you’re having fun. Have a wonderful day.
Nice to see the ice out of the lake. I’m a little concerned about life jackets. Some of you weren’t wearing them and those who are don’t have them done up. Safety first.
Agreed.
Glad Pete is ok… ❤ I’m surprised the Jeep can tow the boat? How much can the Jeep tow?
Yes, The Jeeps tow well. Not sure of the actual payload.
If you have any questions about the 389 or TLH feel free to message me! Looking forward to the summer series!
Where does the water you are draining out of the boats come from as they were out of the water and under roof all winter?
We put them up last fall with snow and ice in them. All of that just melted recently 👍🏻
Great episode. How much longer till Caroline comes home?
Happy to hear Pete is recovering! Spring here in Colorado. Favorite time of year. Curious if you are familiar with the Bruce Peninsula in Southern Ontario? My husband and I backpacked there for 2 weeks on our honeymoon many years ago in early May. There was still snow on parts of the trail, but was a beautiful area.
Yes, we still live not too far from a section of the Bruce Trail. Glad you got to hike it.
Have a wonderful Sunday!
5:24 Diabetes is a punk, it really is. I've been arguing with it since 2010 and so far winning the argument.
Glad you're good brother Pete

(Big Love in Maori from Papamoa 🤙🏽)

Hi friend. Our lake is about an hour or so from there. Can't give out the lake name on the internet as you can understand. Have a wonderful day.
SAD you guys haven't been able to get a break you all being sick and then this happening to pete get well soon young man
Thanks 🙏🏻
I remember ice out meant dock repairs in the ice cold water!
Yes, we got lucky this year all the docks are in pretty good shape.
I like the aerial shot at beginning! Was that shot with a drone? If yes what brand and model? I want a drone but I don't want to buy junk. Thanks!
Yes that was shot using a DJI Mini 3. We’ve been happy with it so far.
Nice he had a long stretch managing his diabetes. It’s important he is on the mend.
Nature’s magic…it melted.
Would you ever stay at the cabin again some winter?
Yes we loved the experience.
Pete, you still sound out of breath when talking. Take care of yourself. A good home remedy for sour throat and congestion is as follows: Equal amounts of Whiskey, Honey and Lemon juice. Keep some in the ice box, it works.
I’ll try that. Thanks for the tip!
💕💐💐💕
you guys can have your geese back now
Haha. Yeah looks like they’re coming back now.
☺️💕
I know your children are homeschooled.I am curious what fields they are studying. Thank You!
They are focussing on cinematography, photography and filmmaking. Have a wonderful Sunday!
