    Ingredient List: Sauce
    Oil
    1 large onion
2 tbsp garlic and ginger paste - see note below
    Pinch of Salt
4 tbsp curry powder see below or use any or mixed powder
    ¼ cup apple cider vinegar
    1 tbsp sugar
3 tbsp tomato puree / slightly watered down to make loose
    250 ml apple juice
    1 kilo Ketchup
2 tbsp Garlic and ginger paste can be added at the stage of cooking the onions. It obviously adds a depth of flavour - that is the way I made this everytime - recently I've been making without and to be honest I cant really tell its not in there. I will leave that choice to you.
    Curry Powder:
    Ingredients:
    2 tablespoons ground cumin

    1 teaspoon ground ginger
    1 teaspoon ground mustard
    1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
    1/2 teaspoon ground cardamom
    1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
    1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
    1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)
    Instructions:
In a bowl, combine all the spices.
    Mix thoroughly until well combined.
Store the curry powder in an airtight container in a cool, dry place. It will last for several months.
NOTE: In Germany the correct way of serving is with a dusting of curry powder over the top

I didn't see when you put the garlic and ginger paste in that's in the recipe. Also, do you put the sauce on hot or cold? Thanks.

Yes well spottted its a typo ive ammened - 2 tbsp Garlic and ginger paste can be added at the stage of cooking the onions. It obviously adds a depth of flavour - that is the way I made this everytime - recently I've been making without and to be honest I cant really tell its not in there. I will leave that choice to you. You can have warm or as a ketchup type sauce. Best, Rik
