I treat the red light on the toilet like the reserve fuel light on the car. You've still got a few miles in the tank yet.. Good tips on wheel nuts and stabiliser 👌
If you loosen the wheel nuts then torque them up, I would say you need to check them again after 30 miles/1/2 hr ish because it's similar to having the wheels off? I WOULD loosen them after a service so that they have an initial tighten by me with MY torque wrench which I will use, check after a short period then before leaving site each time. Whatever floats your boat of course.
Another good video Martin, great tips for the community… 👍🏻 I had all those covered except the freezer compartment, don’t even know if ours does remove, but will certainly be checking for the extra space when needed… 👏🏻 ✅
Some great ideas Martin. It's interesting that give the same idea about the toilet. For us it's all about emptying the toilet every day with the 5 of us. That happened lots on the CLs while away in Norfolk.
Brilliant tips Martin, I have just watched one of your videos of upgrading the reading lights to usb and dimmable ones , I have just ordered 2 as they are a brilliant addition, above the bed there is 2 long led lights under the units , I can’t seem to find the switch, am I missing something lol Regards Phil
Hi Martin, have subscribed to your channel as am a new viewer, great videos, I have just changed my caravan and purchased a Bailey unicorn Valencia 2012 , I only got it last Saturday and I noticed in your videos that in the front to the right you have a white motion looking sensor, I have the same in mine and looking through the owners manual it doesn’t really mention it, if it did I didn’t see it lol, I’m almost sure it’s not linked to the Sargent alarm, please could you advise me as to what it is, many thanks Regards Phil
Hi Phil as a fellow Bailey Unicorn (Barcelona) 2012 owner for may years now, I can answer that for you. The sensor is the PIR unit and is linked to the security alarm. There is also a siren fitted underneath the caravan. These are Bailey standard fittings supplied and monitored by Tracker UK, for an annual subscription. However in 2016 they stopped supporting these units and wanted you to pay to fit a newer up to date unit, which I declined. However these do continue to work as a normal alarm (just not monitored or tracked anymore). They are covered in the Bailey Unicorn range manual on page 4-53, under 4.14 - Tracker Monitor. You may also have received the separate Tracker manual. I find the alarm somewhat annoying as I frequently trip it by mistake. This is because it only has one button for on and off and no easy way of knowing if its on or not. I eventually got it in my head, that one blip from the siren is off and 2 blips is on. Also the remote key fob would turn itself on and off in my pocket every time I bent down, but I managed to sort that by gluing a flat rubber tap washer around the button to prevent it being pressed by mistake. Worked a treat for negligible cost!
@@desclarke9485 hi des , thank you for your reply, I don’t have a fob for it but I did see you can buy them online, I’m not going use it as I’m happy with the factory fitted Sargent alarm plus I have my own tracker fitted to the caravan. Regards Phil
Wouldn’t it be useful to have 2 toilet cassettes so when you take a full one out you immediately replace with an empty one? No accidents in the cassette space like that either.
The freezer tip is a belting idea
Works well for us 😊cheers
Always empty the toilet night before
Think we got that from one of your previous videos
Great tip
Yes definitely don't want to be getting up in the night to empty that!
@@TheCaravanNut think first few trips we had few night miss haps but after watching your video we soon got into the routine of emptying it before bed
Nice one Martin. Didn’t know about you can remove the freezer compartment. Thanks for sharing.
Yes more room for beer Paul…and some space for food!
Thanks for watching 🙂

I’m never that brave leaving it until the last bit. Thanks for the support 🙂
If red light comes on, open the flap and with a torch you can see how full the cassette is. It always comes on too soon in my opinion.
Wish our freezer came out Martin. Been doing tip 3 keys since we started caravanning so good tip there. Thanks for the mention. Cheers Rob
Taking the compartment out makes a massive difference. Thanks for watching Rob 😊
Thanks for the tips. Very useful
Thanks for watching 😊
We always un torque first before torquing our wheel nuts - top tip 👍🏻
Yes nuts left before right! cheers
Some very good tips there that I'd not heard or thought of before..
Glad you found some of them useful. Thanks for watching
Great tips. More room for the essential beer. Jenny said she just sends me to empty the toilet if that occurs, so no problem! 😅😬
Yes definitely need more room for the essentials…beer! Hope Jenny doesn’t send you out too late 🤔🤣 Thanks for watching Bob 👍
Thank you very much for these tips. Very useful.
Thanks from Spain
Thanks for watching from hopefully sunny Spain 🙂☀️🙂

Good tip with the torque wrench, especially if you have alloy wheels 👍
Yes don’t want to be grinding away at the alloy. Thanks for watching
Great tips Martin, all the best Andy 👍
Thanks for watching Andy 👍😊
Some great tips there Martin, like the Alko hitch idea, will use that in the future 👍
Hi Andrew, Stops those pads grinding away too early. Thanks for watching
Great tips. Don’t know how I missed your video last month. Love the key ring 🤣 Never empty your toilet cassette in the dark 😫 Trev
Yes nice little key ring! Always good to be able to see what you are doing! Cheers, Martin
I like the idea of emptying the toilet cassette in the evening.
Works for us Glyn 👍🙂
Great tip on torque mate
And yea we get caught out loads of times with the toilet cassette so thanks for that,
Thanks mate
That’s cos I keep peeing in your toilet when we are having beers!
C U in a bit 🙂
Nice one martin😎🤓👊
Cheers 🙂

Extra space in our fridge is always welcome, we don’t use the freezer that often so use this method often.
Thanks for taking the time to watch Rog 🙂
Top tips my man! 👍
Thanks for watching
Great unusual tips there 👍
cheers 🙂
Good tips MArtin. I've heard about the wheel nut one before from a service engineer - should probably do that myself!
Definitely worth doing especially with alloys Rob. cheers

Yes got to get the toilet routine right, especially with 5 of you and using CL’s. Thanks for watching Paul 🙂

You’ve a fair while from the light coming on on the loo before it really needs emptying. Certainly over night.
Wouldn’t want to risk it as it would be me going out in the dark to empty it!

£90 - £120 for a spare tho
Not really necessary for the sites we go to and we don’t wild camp. A lot of motorhome users use 2 cassettes for wild camping. cheers
Top tip, Do not let your wife go with you to get any everyday products for the van! or you will come home having bought a new caravan !
Yes been there done that 🤣🤣
