    ------------------------------------
    This video shows how we made a 'new blue in-leather mold' same thickness of red leather. Then, it is transferred to a stationery cardboard adding the required seam allowance(8mm).
    You will see that to get a nicer sewing and fitting of 'metallic trims', it was necessary to do some skiving.
    Another important tip we show is 'how to join leather edges' using a mesh backing and carpenter's wood glue.
    I hope you enjoy it and find it useful!

    Hello, is it difficult to remove the leather molds after you were finished fitting them? Do you just pull it off or use some heat? What do you use to clean off the glue from the arm rest after you removed the mold?
    Thank you
    Very informative videos ))

    • @Cechaflo
      @Cechaflo  8 лет назад +1

      There is no problem for the vinyl molds, just remove them carefully...this vinyl unstick easily...the idea is the vinyl should recuperate its original flat surface.
      To clean off the glue I use a product/liquid shoemakers use to remove, glue, goo, and dust from the shoes they're manufacturing...till now, I cannot figure out the composition of this product...sorry.
      You are welcome, Anna!

      +Cechaflo Thank you for the info. Is removing leather mold also easy just like vinyl mold?

    • @Cechaflo
      @Cechaflo  8 лет назад +2

      A 'leather mold' can also be removed the same way but it leaves the 'suede hair' stuck on some parts of the armrest you should clean off.
      Notice: the 'real leather cover' for the armrest should be glued only one time...if you unglue it for some reason you would need to do a new one...for the reason I told you...the 'suede hair' is ripped off and the remnants leave marks on the surface of leather material.

    as I;m watching, I'm thinking what on earth is he doing with those small red leather pieces...... then I realized what jajajjajajaj. Love the weight stress test! PS; how do I get that machine that thins out the leather and is it expensive?thanks again "Magic Chechaflo"

    • @Cechaflo
      @Cechaflo  8 лет назад +1

      +chris diaz Hello Chris, the machine in the video is an old (100 years) Fortuna (german trade mark) 'Leather Skiving machine'...I bought it from a shoemaker in 1000 US Dollars approx...BTW, shoemakers mostly use this machine to skive leather ...I found it not in the condition you see it in the video...it was cast aside in his shop, full of dust, rusty and with spider webs and with missing pieces.
      But I knew it was the Fortuna leather skiver...I restored it to the condition you see it in the video.
      I know there are new and used mchines in the market, not only Fortuna, but another trade marks.

    pregunta? que es la mejor maners de repara un dashboard que tiene cracks?

    • @Cechaflo
      @Cechaflo  8 лет назад +2

      +Roguestatus650 It depends on how many cracks appear on the surface and how deep they are...if, they're not too deep, I'd use an 'epoxic resin' to refill the crack...after it's dry, I sand off to get an even surface...if, too deep, I use some 'fiber glass'to refill the cavity and give the finish with 'epoxic resin'...after doing this procedure I should recover it in vinyl or leather.
      If the cracks are thinner, the 'epoxic resin' would be useful to refill and it is possible to reproduce the 'imprinted texture' from other part of the dashboard (the same resin could be used to make the small mold) and transfer the texture to the repaired area. After this procedure I would have to apply a 'primer' over the repaired area, afterwards, apply the 'special paint for plastic...if too many 'repaired cracks', so, I'd paint the whole area.
      if you are in USA, check Mr Tad Kresho special repairing/painting products:

      @Cechaflo  6 лет назад +1

      Hola Levi, Ahora si le entiendo perfectamente. Para empezar muy buena idea de poner el taller de tapizados que es el complemento de los otros oficios. Muy bien pensado.
      Le voy a dar una idea general de lo básico en máquinas y herramienta que utilizaría:
      Una mesa fuerte de metal o madera para trabajo rudo donde desarmar los asientos y que cuente con un 'tornillo/prensa de banco' donde puedan hacer algún corte de tubo, etc.
      Una mesa fija o montada en caballetes exclusiva para corte de materiales. Sus medidas son aprox. de 90 cm alto x 2.40 largo x 1.20/1.40 ancho. La superficie debe estar lisa, preferencia forrada con formica.
      Una máquina de coser industrial de triple arrastre, nueva o usada, especial para trabajo pesado en tapicería de carros.
      Reglas de 2m, 1m y escuadras de metal diferentes medidas.
      Una compresora capacidad mediana para pintar o aplicar pegamento. Esta compresora servirá para la 'pistola especial de aplicar pegamento'.
      Tijeras industriales para corte de vinil, tela y cuero,etc., una grande y otra mediana para tapicería.
      Un juego de llaves y dados diferentes medidas en pulgadas y milimétricos para desarmar los asientos y otras piezas.
      Desarmadores en diferentes medidas, plano y de cruz(estrella).
      Pinzas(alicates) para doblar y cortar alambre.
      Alicate especial para colocar las 'grapas' que sujetan las fundas de los asientos.
      Esto sería lo básico. El tapicero que contrate ayudaría a completar la lista.
