"Let this be the hour we draw Swords to Plowshares together. Fell Pernicious Deeds awake. Now for Wrath of God, now for Ruination, and for the Skred dawn. Forth, Eorlingas!"
No disrespect, but it was immensely funny to hear you say "Why do I even play anything other than Delver. I just played my 2nd Murktide on the next turn" and then you immediately die
I currently play with two forth eorlingas in my Jeskai miracles list but I also like me snapcasters and mentors still. Although you often see a bunch of cards with all the card advantage/card selection available in Jeskai Control so running only one/two could be fine. Huge fan of the jeskai delver build. I remember playing and doing well with Jeskai delver way back when it had true name nemesis and stoneforge mystic as part of its creature set up. Keep it up with the Jeskai videos man.
at 40:05 do you think its worth it to daze lightning bolt to play murktide right away. i feel like theyre never gonna have a daze target. they have 5 mana
I have a brewing idea and I’m wondering what you’ll think. Go a little bit bigger, cut delver, cut lightning bolt, cut 1 regent. Play this low to the ground tempo/midrange deck with cheep interaction effecting threes. I think having swords and lightning bold pulls the deck in 2 directions and leaving into the white half seams a lot better.
At 1:05:00 you mentioned not piercing brainstorm because they might have snuff out. They're at 2 life and snuff out costs 4, they actually cannot snuff out there, its a fully dead card. If they had cast down or something, then the bstorm would have been a great bait spell, but idk if they play that.
Does Delver still run 4 Daze without Wastelands? Is a 4 Daze no Wasteland shell pretty common for 3 color Delver? I sorta would have expected a single FoN, an extra Spell Pierce, Counterspell, maybe a Prismatic Ending, etc., to replace the 4 Daze but I'm not a Delver expert by any definition.
its about card advantage not necessarily squeezing your opponent on mana. plus with a third color finding the blue cards to pitch to fon is kinda pushing it; youre basically committing 16 cards or almost every other card you'll see in a game to being pitch fodder.
I don't think this deck wants that because it's operating so low on the curve, I do think it will be standard deckbuilding practice for more midrange or control slanted archetypes moving forward. Our episode of Eternal Glory Pod this week is going to be about the 1 mana cyclers, should be out Friday.
I wonder if the Troll will see play in the non-reanimator reanimate decks (e.g Death's Shadow, Scam). They're also low to the ground but the discard part of the cycling cost is pure upside.
Because Yorion is the problem, not Ice Fang Coatl. I can see 7+ cards this turn looking for an answer to that or I can spend my whole turn going after the snake. You'll win a lot more games by focusing on the long term problems rather than small stuff that's in front of you now.
After seeing multiple videos with forth eorlingas, I'm not convinced of its supposed status. Introducing monarch into the game seems a lot riskier than taking the initiative. The possibility of ever giving your opponent cards without you being able to take it back is disastrous, so it seems like a great card in the sideboard against creature-low matchups (which appear to be vanishing in this meta)
They are vanishing in large part because they can't compete with forth eorlingas, sure when it goes wrong it's kind of bad but it just ends game so quickly it needs to be respected
Every round you seemed to be expecting there to be more than the lonely SB Wasteland in this list. Seems like not having them was a big drawback of this version, like it wants to be bigger than Daze and Delver.
Biggest drawback of the list seems to be not being able to cast spells 75% of the time lol. Missing white mana or lands in general throughout many rounds.
In game 2, Avoid Fate could've saved the Ice Fang for a single green mana, which has got to feel even worse than playing into something like Mana Tithe, considering that green has, what, only 4 counter spells in its whole library? All of which are stupidly narrow
You have better SB and better removal than grixis delver in a vacuum, but it would be a hard sell to claim that this deck is better than grixis delver. How about Forth in a gsz deck?
i wanted that block on atraxa because to me the 14 life swing from their swing + swords would be equally as bad to a blowout like exhibited by grist - did you feel that you could have scraped back those 14 life points back in a race? being at 6 with two creatures* without vigilance vs face up bowmasters and GSZ is a race the delver deck still loses despite having a flipped delver on board, right? IMO bowmasters fundamentally changes the window of opportunity for blue cantrip decks to go as soon as you can, rather than wait to find new answers because you're punished so aggressively for not naturally drawing an answer to bowmasters. in this scenario you could have either double blocked to save the bolt for bowmaster, but are still dead to the other resources in hand, probably? really interesting line and i think the reason it's so interesting is because bowmasters is so pushed/punishing for cantrip decks.
I think I was in trouble no matter what in that situation and wanted to place my risk into my draw step rather than into a combat interaction from them. 14 life is a lot, but Murktide Regent is big.
@@BoshNRoll but this line costs you the murk because you have to block+bolt or double block and save bolt for Bowmasters, and with atraxas death touch she doesn't care about your board's total toughness
Just looking at the deck tech and haven't watched any gameplay. I would probably not play murktide and rather play momentary mentor over it. Sure it is a 3 drop but it's only 1 color pip. Though the argument for murk could be fine as it cashes you in after you've casted a shit ton of spells over cashing you in while you cast a shit ton of spells. I just think if you already are the monarch and pulling in extra cards it would be more effective.
It’s a shame we can’t grab it off cunning wish so we could call the deck… well… 😏
Cunning-Lingus Delver too OP
I see what you did there 😉
i dont get it
@@undyne3366it’s a dirty joke, don’t worry about it 😂
what about a deck utilizing court of cunning? Or cunning lethemancer?

I'm glad delver is back in delver
Missed opportunity not calling it "Forth of July" instead of Jeskai Delver tbh

Round 4 and 5 were masterclasses in how to play your deck and how to beat grixis delver and dredge. Thank you.
I would love to see the mind over matter+one ring deck going around

My favorite part of the video was when you quoted the timeless lyrics of Merauder's classic song, "Life is Pain".
Marauder is great 🤘🏻
round 4 game 3 is why i love magic
great interactive back-and-forth, lovely tension
The plural, of course, is Forth Eorlinguini
I like Forth Eorlingoustines!

Seeing Mystic Sanctuary in this list gave me heartburn.....
Huh, a 2 mana spell in delver that gives them card advantage. I think I've heard this song and dance before...

Do we think in these decks maybe a few lands or fetch lands should be replaced with maybe 2ish Lorien Revealed?

After looking at the decklist, it's more of a third Eorlingas!, than a fourth.
I vote that we call them Eorlinguini when plural.
Eorolinguinuses
@@BoshNRoll
Isn't it (in order);
First Eorlingas
2nd Eorlingas
3rd Eorlingas
And Fourth Eorlingas?
Maybe I’m just stupid but why not use the ending at 23:02 instead of pondering ? Like I said I might be missing something

@@BoshNRoll I love this explanation. More reason to watch ! Plus I love your humor when it comes out.
Shouldn’t there be a single plateau in the land base?
In the Daze/Mystic Sanctuary deck it’s risky
