Thanks for covering this, seems not many people have done so far. I've used Sacrosanct and Sacrilege and I personally prefer this one. It does have fewer features yes, but its also WAY more balanced. A sacrosanct vampire with full hemomancy and all blue blood quests done is so damn over powered and you now ignore all the weaknesses of being a vampire (daywalker or masquerade for example). In sacrilege, you still gain a lot of power but your natural vampiric weaknesses still always remain and you don't completely steamroller the game in the same way. I also like the aging system way more, upgrading all of your spells, powers and stats as well the VL form each time, rather than simply getting an extra perk in sacrosanct. Every racial ability is useful, many of the old perks or unlocks from sacrosanct are now native and I have far more fun with the vampire powers now the cooldowns are gone. Sacrosanct is awesome in its own right and has features and spells that don't make it in but when compared on their own merits, I think Sacrilege is an improvement. Having said that, that's why I love that enaisiaion is making these smaller mods, giving you the choice of which approach you prefer; the grand, feature-rich power fantasy or the slightly more grounded approach which has quirks and features of its own. Long may it continue as both mods are great in their own rights.
All excellent points. I really like the minimalist mods to "balance" against the more detailed mods I want to focus on. Sacrosanct is amazing, but it adds in a LOT of additional content / buffs. I would switch it out for Sacrilege if I was doing a new load order that wasn't focused on OP vampires, but still wanted to leave myself the option for a modded vamp build. Being able to fall back to a "minimalistic" version of most core mods gives you a lot of flexibility when it comes to the "perfect" load order. Great stuff :)
Wish there was an 'in between" version of these two. Sacrosanct has too much clutter but some really cool things never made it to sacrilege. Ability to stealth feed on someone from behind for example
I love this mod as an alternative because its simpler and the blue blood sidequest annoyed me because some of the npcs you cant get to unless you do some guild questlines like the thieves guild. I think you had to feed on mercer. Just not having extra side quests and being better on my system is great. I like the way the passives and powers work alot better than Sacrosanct personally. Great video as always man!

Have you considered doing a video on Better Vampires? It's between Sacrilege and Sacrosanct in complexity, and highly customizable. The author also has a bunch of other mods for vampire NPCs, vampire weapons, and an underground vampire city that all integrate with it but aren't required.
what I enjoyed about sacrosanct is that you can become a Daywalker after finishing blue blood but I'm looking forward to try out sacrilege in my next vampire run
Skyrim is the definition of modding, We have things from small little mods that add small little things that make your life easier to massive DLC mods that can change the game's core mechanics like magic
You should check out Enai's other two spell mods. Tonal Architect which is basically another Triumvirate archetype that is dwemer themed and Cosmic Spells which basically just contains the spells from an earlier mod they made for OG Skyrim.
This has become my fave mod. It has 6 ranks to progress in. The fifth rank, Nightlord, is what I go for. At this rank, when you use Vampire Drain, in a couple seconds, your victim explodes and all thats left is skeleton. If you make a ton of Potion of Thaumaturgy, and drink them all at once, you will get to Nightlord fast.
@@Sethiroth_Gaming Right now I'm on my 11th playthrough of Undeath. With just using Vampire Drain, i didn't need skeletons, sped through fast wiping necros out. You should try out being nightlord.
Sethiroth New videos every monday wednesday and friday... WHERE ARE YOUUUUUUUUUU.... Soon I won't have anything else to watch :'( I need more of your reviews and calming voice! (+ silly joke that i like :p)
I need help because I don’t know how the Blue Blood mini quest works because you have to drain the blood of the most powerful people in Skyrim but they never sleep and vampires seduction doesn’t work on them How do I drink their blood ?
Most of the those npcs don't start their "sleep" routines until their respective quests have started up. Ulfric doesn't start sleeping until the civil war has progressed passed Whiterun (I think). Same thing for the leader of the Companions and you can't even meet Mercer until part way through the Thief Guild questline. To speed things along, I unlock a vampire rank and then get the power to sneak feed, so as long as I'm stealthed and behind them, I can usually feed and get away with it. Combine it with invisibility, as feeding doesn't count as an attack and therefore won't break your stealth. Hope this helps!
I really dislike the health/stamina/magika regen on Haunted Lakes and removed it for my last playthrough. You can regen in any water as long as your character starts swimming. Makes being out in the sun much less of an inconvenience. Removing the magic effect makes the "Vampire's Shroud" power actually work as a necessity if you're out in the sun, got jumped, and barely survived. The only other things that I'd change if I could is the "Blood Storm" perk from the Vampire Lord, and the fact that other vampires can use their drain on you as an undead, but you need a perk to do the same. Besides those 3 things it's pretty much a 10/10 vampire mod and my go to (after a bit of tweaking lol)
@@Sethiroth_Gaming I should really learn CK to alter the "Blood Storm" ability to make it less overbearing. Most of the Vampire Lord perks go towards increasing the effectiveness of the Raze spell, then Raze is replaced with a *BLOOD MACHINE GUN* and you don't even need the other abilities. Just aim and hold it down, which is not too different than the other concentration spells, but those also aren't part of a bigger, separate perk tree that has other abilities that compliment a previous spell. Maybe change the perk to make Raze do 15% more damage, reach further and have an explosive effect to damage nearby enemies, which would theoretically pair well with Gutwrentch and Maelstrom. Now I'm getting myself hyped lol. Wonder how difficult those changes would be to implement 🤔
Agreed. I can see using these minimalist mods in playthroughs where I already have other labor intensive elements in mind. Like using Trua instead of Wintersun during a Spell Research playthrough, so I don't have to worry about loosing favor if I pick the wrong deity during my research. There is certainly a place for those minimalistic mods.
Don't suppose you can do a video on how to download mod mangers as I love watching your videos and would like to join in on the fun but I don't know anything about which mod mangers to download or how to download them?
If you need to feed and can't fast travel because you're in combat, but there aren't any low level npc's nearby to use seduction on and you don't have blood potions. What do you do? Can you sneak feed or feed on staggered enemies?
You'll have to look at the mod page description, but I'm 90% sure those abilities are from Sacrosanct, not Sacrilege. Is there a reason you're using the minimalistic version of the two?
@Sethiroth_Gaming Oh, I just wanted the abilities from sacro without the extra fluff. I was just wondering since that scenario I mentioned would be pretty scary for me since I don't rely on potions outside of looping. It seems the two main forms of feeding in mortal form are still seduction and sleep feeding I assume?

The only people I've heard of managing to combine Sacrosanct with Better Vampires already had modding experience and made some detailed patches to make it work. However, Sacrilege *might* be easier to mod in this fashion because it is a lot simpler than Sacrosanct and therefore, easier to fit into another mod. You can find out yourself by installing Sacrilege above better vampires and doing a conflict check. See which files are getting overwritten. If there are a lot of them, you may need to make a patch, if there are none, you're good. But I would NOT test out that kind of combination on my main load order. Test it one a small load order and a new game. Run straight into vamp stuff and see if you get bugs. If they're incompatible, you'll know pretty quick.
Sacrilege is a "vanilla plus" approach to modding, streamlining the vanilla stuff without adding in a lot of new features. There are other mods that can cover that, though. Like a shrine you can add to the Realm of Lorkhan alternate start which curses you with vampirism.
This is a great mod👍 I'm personally going with sacrosanct 100% though. I'm all about another feeding 😈. Plus I'm power hungry 🤗 Though I will say the vamp shadow is cooler opposed to the mist form as far as animation, but it lacks the heal factor. Great video and thanks for the info👌
Oh, I'm right there with you on the power leveling :) I have noticed that the occasional minimalist mod can help smooth over different areas that you still want to mod, but not necessary make a big deal out of it. For example, if I was running Sacrosanct, I might use the Trua religion mod instead of wintersun, to cut down on all the complexities of managing favor while also feeding on people and doing sacrosanct quests. But by all means, power first :)
