    What are your thoughts on this grinder? Could it be your perfect espresso grinder?

    I’ve scoured dozens and dozens of ESP review videos. They all only focus on espresso. I need an espresso and beyond grinder. This is the best video that addresses both. Thank you!

    I drink moka pot coffee, and my wife primarily drinks V60. Is there a better grinder for those two brew methods than the Baratza Encore ESP? I'm willing to stretch the budget to $400 USD, if neccessary, or slightly more.
    Our plan is to buy an espresso machine next year, and I would be willing to buy a 2nd grinder for espresso if an all inclusive grinder - espresso, moka, and V60 - is too much of a unicorn, or too fiddly to change between those grind settings.
    Lastly, I prefer to single dose, as my wife enjoys a medium to lighter roast for her V60 coffees, and I like darker roasts. Electric grinders that are easy to buy / service where I live are Baratza, Eureka, and Fellow. Thanks for any / all suggestions.

    I'm wondering how the old Baratza Encore upgraded with the M2 burr competes with the ESP.

    Is it better to get an exclusive espresso grinder and one for drip?

    Just got one of these. Use it with a Dedica. Tends to clump quite a bit on fine grinds. May be better with different roasts. Way too fine under 10. Seems OK around 13 -15 for a 14g dose. High retention at .3 - .4 oz. Happy with brew taste etc. Still a bit of tweeking I think chasing that elusive perfect shot.

    I've been saving for the smart grinder pro because I do espresso and drip... Now you have me wondering what to get. Any chance you would be doing a comparison or at least share your opinion?

      I would opt for either the ESP or the Fellow Opus instead of the smart grinder pro. ESP if you care more about espresso, Opus if you care more about drip.

      The guys at Alternative Brewing do a comparison. See this video.

    Yoh, shout out to Brandywine Coffee Roasters! Are you local to that roaster? I get at least 1 bag of whole bean coffee anytime I go to Brew Ha Ha lol

      Nice choice! It was part of a subscription I received, but have been a fan for quite awhile.

    Better value than the Varia? (I make Espresso exclusively at home)

    • @HomeGroundsCoffee
      @HomeGroundsCoffee  Год назад

      The Vario will produce a different tasting coffee due to the flat burrs, so it depends on if you'd like to spend the extra money on that! I'm sure you'd be happy with either of these grinders.

      @@HomeGroundsCoffee Do you have an option about whether conical or flat burrs are better for Espresso?

    • @HomeGroundsCoffee
      @HomeGroundsCoffee  Год назад

      One isn’t necessarily “better”. Conical burrs will give more of a richer, thicker body shot. Flat burrs will provide more clarity and sweetness.

    Iv been using this grinder for a few weeks, and i have some regrets. The amount of clumps this thing produces is crazy. WDT doesnt help geting ri of clumping either.
