Even though he says that the lock is solid, from a European point of view it looks like a padlock to me. Massive locks don't seem to help much with American doors. The lock may hold, but the door won't. Here the doors usually have several bolts all around and are operated by a Euro cylinder which does not determine the stability of the locking system and they are thicker (if they are outer doors). hi, good review, thought I'd mention 2 other important points to consider for these kinda items: 1. battery low warning, to give advance headsup before battery depleates (around 10 or 20% maybe); 2. does it let you still use a key if your battery is dead, or your phone ran out of juice right before the door (slim but possible scenario for some people)
Easy to lock and unlock. I like locking the door going out by touching the outside when I close the door. Security? The lock is there for the safety of the bad guy. This would not be a good lock. The fact that the battery core being the deadbolt, while clever, defeats the purpose of the deadbolt. It's not the huge bolt of solid metal that it should be. I'm interested to know what it's rated for.
And one day your battery goes down while you are sleeping and your door is locked not able to open/pick the lock 😂😂😂 And 2nd time you installed the new door but found your door lock is corrupted
Very poor range connecting to the hub. I had two locks and returned them both because they both did not work. The only way for them to work is if the hub is a few feet away. I believe this is due to the fact that the lock is inside the dead bolt. Buyers beware!

Yes, but how many people would use it instead of a key.
Noone will hide the key under the doormat in order to have access to the battery...
Think about a block of flats/ apartments...
You leave the keys inside...
A set of new batteries you can buy in a 24/7...
Does it work for Android phone
It does but not with Google Assistant which they said about 5 plus months ago that they were working quickly to integrate it, and here we are today with no update and or Google Assistant support which is annoying
Dos this work on android???
I'm looking for so smart hidden peekhole camera solution for doors
Great video
I really don't like mine. The touch is so finicky, the geofencing is too large to be able to leave my keys at home and rely on touch/Auto Unlock when I go for a walk. Basically, I have to unlock it from my phone to use the smart features reliably, and at that point I found it easier and quicker to just use my key. I got mine on sale and I still feel ripped off.
Does this lock work with Alexa and Google Home ?
So how safe is this? Hackers can just open your door.
How is the company’s policy with law enforcement? Will the open the door for them? Can they even open the door?
looks awesome, simple and durable! But, is the Level lock compatible with UK upvc style doors and locks?
What are UK upvc doors?
So, if the battery dies . Are you then locked outside of your own home ?
Mega Magikarp you would just use your key.
Use your key. It also alerts you to battery usage
Yes- if your that stupid
This an attempt to copy August smart lock which has wifi no bridge is even needed.. And you can use your existing hardware
This would not be a good lock. The fact that the battery core being the deadbolt, while clever, defeats the purpose of the deadbolt. It's not the huge bolt of solid metal that it should be. I'm interested to know what it's rated for.
I don't even believe the rating they got.
Does this work with a “Privacy Door Knob”?
NOTE.- The ones (without a key) used in bathrooms and dormitories.
It could if you set up a deadbolt on that door.
Cool but I'll need a WiFi version.
That battery housing looks pretty thin....
Where is the LockPickingLawyer? I'm pretty sure he will use some tricks such as magnets to unlock this
It’s a cool idea. But what happens when the battery dies and your locked out
Use the key of thumb latch on your original hardware.
Does this work on adriod
And one day your battery goes down while you are sleeping and your door is locked not able to open/pick the lock 😂😂😂
And 2nd time you installed the new door but found your door lock is corrupted
Great job!!!!
What will happen if the battery depleted?
then you use you house key
No Auto Unlock when near/coming home?
You have to build that automation into HomeKit.
Very poor range connecting to the hub. I had two locks and returned them both because they both did not work. The only way for them to work is if the hub is a few feet away. I believe this is due to the fact that the lock is inside the dead bolt. Buyers beware!
That may be your case, but not my experience. I have a significant gap between this and my home hub and have no issues.
AppleInsider That’s good for you, but goes to show its inconsistency. If they double the lock’s range, it will actually be useful and I will buy again.
Could just be your door material. Not any problem with the lock.
AppleInsider The lock should be useful in all door materials, or they should tell the customers the lock’s limitations. My two doors are made of two different materials.
Angel, what kind of hub were you trying to use? Apple TV? Appleinsider, what kind of hub did you use, and how far away is it from the lock? Need more data for figure out what to expect. Is there an official distance provided by Level?
Does it work with Alexa?
Works with Android?
Wifi compatible?
Bluetooth compatible in case wifi goes down?
The last 2 questions are answered in the video multiple times and level's website says it is android compatible.
@@Josh_P And it does not really work on wifi unless you have other items to carry bluetooth.
Price is not worth it.
come on this lock is for bedroom or bath room, this cant be used for the main door !!!
Double Cylinder support?
Seems to be from the video.
